Any news on this one? I have the same problem - Only Silver Efex and Color Efex seem to work - all the other crash (very upsetting since I use some of them quite frequently). Working on a freshly installed Win 10 System. Would be good if bugwise there would be some kind of progress. Cheers, Timo

Anyone else experiencing this behaviour?

When I double click on the only page that is there the blue frame (showing the page is active, I suppose) turns into a gray frame (meaning?). So the page is not active any more but what is active in that case? When I add another object now it gets added to the only existing page but the page still has got the gray frame - not a blue one any more. Now selecting the masterpage (blue frame) I still see the objects that should only be on the Page 1. And even though the master page shows a blue frame I can still select the object from page 1 and delete it - the master page remains with a blue frame. Maybe I'm getting something completely wrong here what the colors in the page panel indicate.

demo.afpub Sample attached. Problem 1: Go to the 1st page (not the master). Open the master layers in the layer palette and try to select more than 2 layers by holding the CTRL key down and continuously adding new layers to your selection. (WiIl not work - you can't select more than 2 layers at the same time). If it is "by design" that you should neot work on master layers from the page (you never know with Serif) why can you select a master layer from a page at all? Why are master layers displayed at all? But when they are available (what I do like) they should work as expected. You should be able to work on them as usual layers - delete, move them around, add a shadow´, change opacity ... whatever... without explicitly selecting the master layer. Problem 2: Go to the 1st page (not the master). Open the master layers in the layer palette and try to "unlock" a layer. The protocol says it is unlocked but the lock does not disappear. Switching to the master page and making it active you can't turn of the locking either. If you now add another random object to the master page locking and unlocking (or protecting) works again ... Another interesting behavior just accrued. Even though I was working on the master Page the first new object I added was added on the first page (not on the master that was active). Not really improving trust ... Last but not least. In the current example I have one master page and one document page. I do get a frame on the active page I'm working on that makes it clear where is my workspace (you have to look twice but one can see it eventually). Selecting the document page and double clicking on it leaves me in complete irritation. NO page is selected any more. The layers panel suddenly only shows objects from the master page but the master page isn't selected either. Seems like I'm lost in outer space ... ahh, well .... Cheers, Timo

Text, Photo and Graphic layers ... Hm,I can sent the crash report, when Publisher suddenly completely vanished while I was trying to generate that file CrashReports.zip I'll try again tomorrow...

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't understand why I can't select more than 2 Layers on the Master Page? When I keep the CTRL key pressed and try to add a third layer to my selection the first layer gets deselected again (only when I'm on the Master page). Maybe a bug? Another problem on the master page: I had 4 layers protected. After working with the file for some while (so I can't precisely say what I did to have the problem appearing) I was unable to unprotect these layers again. I selected a layer and pressed the lock-symbol but the lock would not disappear on the layer - even though the protocol said "un-protect layer". Pressing the lock again the protocol woul again say "un-protect layer" but the lock still remained the same. And I was not able to make any changes to the layer. Only after adding another new layer to the master-page locking and unlocking worked again for all layers as expected. Very strange behavior but surely a programming hiccup. Cheers, Timo

It's never wrong - but rarely successful I've been following this "path of development" in AP and AD for more than 2 years now ... and with regards to efficient workflow it's a very stony and slow path

Thx dominik. Not very intuitive ... and a bit of nasty seeing that the cursor key are far more obvious and have no use in this situation. Maybe it's proposal for an improved workflow? Cheers, Timo

It seems that the crashes quite often occur, when I'm working on the "Pages" panel ... (moving between pages), changing applications and coming back seeing that Publisher stalled.

A very plain wish: When the focus is on the "Pages" panes ... it would feel natural to me to scroll through the pages with the cursor keys ... but by the looks of it there is absolutely no way to use keys to proceed to the next or previous page. Even enabling the "End" and "Pos1" key would be nice. Maybe this functionality could even be active if the the main window is active, you have the "Move" tool selected and there is no frame selected ?! Aside that I find it very hard to recognize what is the currently active page. This thin frame marking it is hardly visible - even harder, when the content of various pages is layoutwise pretty similar. So it always takes this extra-extra effort to find out on what page you are on in the page panel. Cheers, Timo

Happened while I was scrolling through the pages ... suddenly the app stalled and wasn't responding any more. Looks more like a random thing to happen ...

As already experienced in AP and AD the Publisher sometimes has a serious issue with a permanent redraw of the screen when just MOVING the mouse (not clicking anywhere). It does not appear, when the mouse is untouched. This needless flickering drives you crazy. Sometimes it is gone when you activate other applications. For example each time I activate a screen capture program to record the effect it is gone. It occurs with an ordinary mouse as well as with my wacom tablet. Cheers,. Timo

I'm using the Foxit Reader and don't see the problem as well ... So I guess it's as explained above: a display/Adobe problem ...

Frankly it was nothing specific. Can't recall what I was doing. I do remember it's not an reproducible action. It's just like publisher suddenly stops reacting.

Among some other behaviors I don't get - this is something really annoying. I have a table with 3 columns and 2 rows (video). The second row is already larger than needed (why)?. There are no additional spaces or anything else that would add to the space below all texts in the second row. Now when I click into one text field in the second row the table already extends automatically in height. Adding just one letter of text (without a line break) and deleting it again continuously increases the hight of the table until it extend all documents. So whatever I do the length of the table is increasing (to be more precise: the height of the second row). In the second part of the video I just extend table height by simply clicking into the text and pressing the "Del" key. In the video I disabled some less important layers to make it easier to see ... The reports folder is empty (even though the program crashed many times). But it simply stops working. I can't event get the focus on the app again. I do get offered a recovery file on restart though.

It's a bit scary that you plan to release .399 as final. Even with very simple 1 page documents including 1 table, 3 textboxes and a graphic I get constant crashes of the program. Happens under various circumstances. Copy from publisher and pasting things in again, coming back from another application. The program just stops and isn't responding any more. I can only kill it through the task manager. No error message and no reaction any more. Frankly spoken this is far away from being a release candidate (and I bought it already) Cheers, Timo
