  1. I can't find a way to assign my custom camera profile at RAW import in AP2. You can assign an output profile but it seems there's always a standard (generic) import camera profile assiged - what is significantly different from my custom profile. Maybe I just can't find it .... Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Timo
  2. So just the usual marketing bs ... no surprise there ... On the other hand we should not expect to much in this direction. I guess there's currently quite some pressure on serif. While other companies show significant new features (mainly in the area of AI integration) it feels like Affinity is stagnating. And despite some new and nice features in V2 it was more panting after industry standards. We are not talking innovations here. Hard times ...
  3. That's true - if real scripting comes this functionality is most likely obsolet. Are there any further informations on the scripting topic? Node based programming?
  4. Thanks for your explanation. Looks like you all experienced that problem already. It sounds a bit like "it's not a bug - it's a feature" to me. Is it just me that feels like: that's really stupid? Of course you can do it this way - but does it make sense? The way it looks most of you power users seem to be happy with these "workarounds" ... has everybody already given up on improving Affinity ? Or maybe it's just my twisted thinking 🙂 and everything is perfect? 🙂
  5. Affinity Photo 2.1.1 Tiny issue here with macro parameters. I simply add an unsharp mask filter in a macro. Add the macro to my library. In the library make a right click on the new macro and select "Edit Macro". Now I change the parameters of the unsharp mask to new values. (re-checked that in the macro the new parameters are available by closing the macro and open the parameter settings again - all fine). Go to the library and execute the macro but still the old parameters are included. Go back to the macro and the old parameters are all back. Is there a hidden way one has to save the new parameters in a macro? Elsewise it seems like a bug. Cheers, Timo
  6. Stupid me ... should have tried that before (wasn't aware theres an import function for it) ... Thx ... pretty sure that does the job!
  7. Thanks for the information. It worked out fine after I copied the profile into the "profiles" folder (I'm using the EXE installation as well) ... I wish the procedure would have been described more clearly. Interestingly the standard OS profile installation (right click on the ICC file and selecting "install" from the popup) does not make the profile available for Affinity (That's what I tried before opening this topic here). The new profile shows up as installed in the windows color management - but does not show up in Affinity.
  8. I'm struggeling a bit with ICC Profiles for the softproof. I got an ICC profile fom my printing company and want to recheck color on my (calibrated) Monitor. But the ICC profile providesd does not show up in the list of availale ICC profiles in the softproof dialog. The file is located in the standard windows ICC folder C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color. But Affinity doesnt show it. Is there another place I need to install it into? I guess it's a probnlem between my ears ... but can't see the solution right now. Thanks for yourt help Timo
  9. "He" is reading this thread And yes, I'm using Open Shell. Within the mentioned uninstall Options only the MSI Version is offered for uninstalling. But I eventually found an uninstaller that let me access Windows Apps and seperately uninstall them .... so I did get rid of the MSIX Version now. Thx for your help. Cheers, Timo
  10. Thx Walt. Sadly this does not work. The MSI Version offers an uninstall option (and a program path as expected) - the MSIX Version does not have an uninstall option 😞
  11. Hi Walt, as usual you have the proper recommendations at hand! For quite a while (I admit I ignored the topic for a while) I'm suffering from the same problem. Both versions installed .... I consider the MSIX version as a nightmare since I have absolutely no control and can't (ah, well - only with a multitude of substitutions) use it with other programs calling the '*/§%/(!&§ ... So eventually I'm happy with with the old fashioned EXE installer. Now I'd love to cleanup my system - uninstall the MSIX Version of Affinity .... but .... I have absolutely no clue how to access the MSIX deinstaller or anything that does that job. In my deinstallation routines of the system I - of course -find the deinstallers for my MSI (EXE) files .... but there seems no way to get rid of the other crap (drives me crazy if things are not intuitive) ... any idea how to remove the MSIX Version for ever? (BTW: Thx Affinity or making things easy). I thought the Deinstallation would be done in the Microsoft store. Regretfully the store doesn' t show the application as installed and offers me the installation of a testversion. Problem is: I only have one Microsoft store account as far as I remember. So, would you have any any Idea, how to uninstall this "pest installation"? Cheers, Timo
  12. Thx everyone ... I spend quite some time experimenting ... just to wrap it up: It all makes somehow sense - but there's no "easy" way as... 🙂 you might be used to. It's all about the "defining templates (styles)" and assigning them. (not this childisch intuitive "Select and assign") ... this is more like a pain pill ... it has to hurt before the relaxation comes 🙂
  13. I really wonder why you can't assign any cell attribute (e.g. font) to an empty(!) table cell. This can only be done when the cell contains text. So once you start a tabe every cell will start with "Arial" (hell knows why - mybe you can change the standards somewhere?) and no other style (e.g. bold or italic). So eventually you have to change the style of each cell AFTER you entered content. What sounds ridiculous to me. I would expect to select the whole table (or specific cells) and assign font and style regardles of the content is (even empty) .... and if I add text later this will be with the previously assigned style. But maybe I got something completetly wrong. Cheers, Timo
  14. It's just something I did not come across before (here seen in AP Beta): Quite often the main (work) window has lost the focus. As a consequence key commands (like CTRL++ or CTRL+- for zooming in and out or any other command) have no effect. Reproducable this happens with files comming from an external program. After the passed on picture is visible one deliberately need to click into the window to activate the focus. This also sometimes happens when you work on layers in the layer panel. One has to deliberately click into the main windo to activate the focus and make it responsive for key commands. Cheers, Timo
  15. True, my mistake - I accidentially chose the fill and not the gradient fill tool ... Thx! (I wonder how one figures this out - wouldn't want to call this "intuitive" )
  16. Hi N.P.M. - if I understand you properly you can clear the content of a mask - but you can't get rid of the mask any more?
  17. Affinity Photo: Sometimes you forget the most simple things (I guess I'm gettging old) - but I have no clue any more how to delete (or at least clear) the mask on a (live)filter layer without(!) deleting the filter at the same time ... A small hint appreciated 🙂 Cheers, Timo
  18. Looks like Tuesday is gone ... but I still can't access my downloads ... no rollout on tuesday?
  19. I tried Firefox, Opera and Edge .... all showing the same issue! (two of them have not been used for Affinity login before). But from what Steven says this seems to be a known issue ... Thx for cofirming, Steven!
  20. Thx for the Feedack! Maybe it's related to the german version of the site ...
  21. After logging into my Affinity account I tried to access the "download & productkey" section .... not really successfully: So I logged off and tried to login again - but the result remains the same. Other sections (orderlist or account details) work fine. Cheers, Timo
  22. As it says - this snapping mode refers to the handles of the rays - not the point where you grab the curve. But in fact using this to manipulate the single rays does the job as well. It's just that you have to edit both handles instead of one - on the other hand it may be even more flexible. And I guess one needs to be rational what to suggest as additional features.
  23. Why would various/different points on the curve be "pre-selected" before I grab the curve? Not need for it, if it doesn't matter. And if you just drag "the curve" it should not matter where you grab it - but the point you grab is essential for how the curve looks after dragging. So we are talking about a specific point when you grab the curve - why shouldn't you be able to place this specific point at a specific location (snapping point)??? It would be an essential feature for symetrical "constructions" (of course you will find workarounds).
