I agree that this would be incredibly helpful.
I had forgotten how much I used this in Photo$hop. (I'm actually struggling now to remember the default shortcut for it ... < and > I think? Aren't there also shortcuts to jump to the first or last brush?) And, yes, it does seem like it would be simple to add.
Often I think (and comment) that the team may not have the depth of experience, i.e., years, of commercial work in design and production, and might not realize just how important these seemingly small details are to getting work done. At the end of the day, that's what this—or any—tool is for. The better it enables its users to get work done quickly and with as little friction as possible, the more successful it will be, hence the success of Goliath even with their confiscatory software rental model.
But ... Serif is listening, I believe. Yes, there are many longstanding requests that, honestly, should have been resolved by now. However, the recent pace of improvement, additions and changes (to me, at least) is encouraging. Let's hope they keep moving quickly to identify, prioritize and resolve many more of these workflow issues.

@r c-r finally, fix! There was a missing assignment to Previous/Next View. I overlooked it because to me Views are same document, in multiple windows. I think thats still a thing?

I agree, separated mode was better experience for those of us who prefer it. You can still split out tools but not context bar/toolbar and windows open inside main window as tabs by default. (At least in Photo 2)

I'm on a M1 Mac Mini, latest version of MacOS (11.2.1), latest version of Affinity Photo (1.9.0), no special hardware or software running, just using a normal mouse.
With the Pixel Tool selected, if I press the mouse button to start drawing on the canvas; nothing happens until I start moving the mouse. I would expect the canvas to be drawn on immediately, without waiting for mouse movement. It's been suggested that this doesn't happen on the Windows version, so it's possibly a bug, rather than behaviour that the development team intended.

Have an embed that's duplicated multiple times throughout main document. Embed has some layers, groups and layer effects applied inside. All pretty small (256x256 pixels) so memory shouldn't be an issue on my mac mini m1 16gb.
Photo freezes consistently when I try to draw with pixel brush in the layer. Sometimes almost instantly sometimes I have to draw for a few seconds before it freezes.
Freezing like that happened in other places, but this time its pretty consistent.
Attached the afphoto. Used latest 248 version, it started happening at least in previous version.

Is there a way to sync all app settings (shortcuts, palettes, presets..) between non-beta and beta versions? Honestly wouldn't mind some kind of button in Misc preferences to export all preferences in one package, for backup sake, too.

Tried in gradient or outline, it just has no effect, only in the thumbnail/gradient editor.

Yes please, this would improve pixelart work!

Scaled objects are affected by some kind of issue where Node tool would incorrectly move parts of the vector shape that are not even close to cursor.
Attached the document so you can try it.

Thanks for your feedback/report. This issue was also logged previously but seems there was few changes here and now it behaves a bit differently than what was logged (still wrong though). I'm checking this and updating the report accordingly.

Double clicking on brushes i created (using New brush from selection) opens up incorrect brush for editing. Clicking More on the bar opens the correct brush. Brushes attached.

Bug still in 1.9.0.215. Very frustrating, basically unable to use brush tool on layers without resorting to palette.
