  1. Hey everyone! Not sure this is a bug or not, but when working with a few hundred files, sometimes, the layer layout (collapsed group states, selection states) is retained through closing and opening a file, but sometimes, it is not. Is there a way to reliably retain the layer state? Best wishes, Shu
  2. Not sure what caused my search to not yield the according results, but I found this happening from time to time. I posted a more detailed insight a few years ago, and I think it had something to do with needing to specify advanced search parameters, but I'm completely unsure where exactly that went. Nor do I remember what I had to specify.
  3. @prophet Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, Designer on iPad can't duplicate in place. I can only drag & two fingers duplicate a selection, which should be the cmd+J equivalent. And pasting shovels all pasted layers together.
  4. When you're working on hundreds of files and you're sitting through hours of - Saving files individually (Designer) (no save all possible) - Wait for each save - Closing files individually (Designer) (no close all possible) - Confirm each closing - Opening the files (Photo) - Editing the files (Photo) and again, - Saving files individually (Photo) - Wait for each save - Closing files individually (Photo) - Confirm each closing - Opening the files (Designer) , just because there is no "Duplicate" in the context menu in Designer, but only in Photo and despite that insane detour, you're still faster. Needless to say, haven't found a decent way to do this in Designer.
  5. Four years later, this is still a huge shortcoming, resulting in countless uselessly wasted hours of work. Just simple "Save all" and "Close all" buttons would suffice. Not even multiple selection necessary then. Having the buttons transform to "Save selection" and "Cöose selection" if muliti select was a thing, that'd just be the icing on the cake. EDIT: Just to compare to a two step procedure of - Save all and - Close all , I have to, for each of hundreds of files individually - Open file menu - Select Save - Wait for Save - Open file menu - Select Close - Confirm Close - Wait for files to rearrange That's 7 steps per file. When you have 500 files, that's 3500 steps instead of 2. Or, in other words, 1749 times needlessly complex.
  6. Yes, that could very well be the case, especially considering that layers don't move where they should quite frequently (for reference: ).
  7. Awesoe, thanks! Now I posted there as well! Don't know, sometimes I can't find topics via forum search, they only show up via Google.
  8. +1 It would be great to be able to manually reorder Symbols. Right now, I can't change their order, which, when working with a lot of Symbols, gets confusing fast. Maybe even different options would be useful: - Order manually - Order by name - Order by layer depth - Order by time created (right now, default and, in my opinion, least useful)

  10. Hey everyone! I am getting sporadic, but somewhat frequent crashes, maybe once or twice an hour, when moving Symbols within a group that's declared a symbol itself (not sure the latter is necessary for the crash). I am using iPad mini 5, iOS 14.5.1. Best wishes, Shu
  11. Hey everyone! Not sure this is possible on desktop, I didn't find a solution on iPad, however. Consider the following setup: Group 1 Layer 1 Layer 2 Group 2 Layer 3 Layer 4 I'd like to copy & paste Layer 1, 2, 3, 4 by selecting them, copy, then paste, with their pasted versions keeping their group (Layer 1 and 2 at Group 1, Layer 3 and 4 at Group 2). Best wishes, Shu

  13. Really hoping for naming symbols on iPad to be included in a future version.
  14. +1, animated gif support would be great. Even just using the root level layers and layer groups as frames would be enough.
  15. +1, including iPad. Gets distracting fast, especially the flashy Designer image.
  16. (Un)fortunately, I don't have the issue present in the file anymore, after having done some copy & pasting, eventually fixing this for the symbols I have been using.
  17. @NathanC That's great! Thanks for forwarding the issue!
  18. @Callum Thanks for the reply! Not completely sure how to help, but some more notes: - Every time there are a few frames where there is no input shown, I am taking the fingers off the screen, so the next time input is shown, a new gesture starts. (The UI showing gesture input works as intended.) - The 5th gesture takes some more time, since I wanted to show the zoom is still working, while rotating (obviously, since deactivated) as well as panning (bug!) doesn't work. - Unfortunately, I don't have any specific steps that would trigger this issue other than just simply using the standard gesture that's intended for this. I'd say it fails at a rate of about 20%. - Also, possibly important if there is some screen space gesture magic going on: I am using an iPad mini (5th gen). - Not completely sure, but possibly related to this one here:
  19. Thanks! That's great to have in general, but I don't typically name my layers! (As far as I can tell, I'd have to do that to search for a layer name?) Also, but just as a side note, I have seen this being present in Photo, so I thought I might use that for some of the work, but it will apply the last transform action as well, not duplicate in place, unfortunately.
  20. Hey everyone! This makes it incredibly inefficient trying to import sketches from Procreate. Here are videos showing the issue (the first video shows an alert that doesn't stop showing, always displaying "Importing one item"): https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/iOS/1_10_3/CantImportMultipleLayers2.mov https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/iOS/1_10_3/CantImportMultipleLayers3.mov I am using iOS 15.3.1, Designer 1.10.3, Procreate 5.2.5. Best wishes, Shu EDIT: Not sure why the first link auto embeds the video.
  21. Hey everyone! Here is a video showing the issue: https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/iOS/1_10_3/CanvasDoesntPan.mov I am using iOS 15.3.1, Designer 1.10.3. This is sporadic, yet happens often. I disabled rotating the canvas. Best wishes, Shu
  22. Hey everyone! Here is a video showing the issue: https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/iOS/1_10_3/MovingLayersDifficult.mov I am using iOS 15.3.1, Designer 1.10.3. Best wishes, Shu
  23. Hey everyone! Here is a video showing the issue: https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/iOS/1_10_3/SymbolsGetCorrupted.mov I am using iOS 15.3.1, Designer 1.10.3. Unfortunately, this one is quite sporadic. Best wishes, Shu
  24. Thanks for your replies! @NotMyFault Here is a video showing the issue: https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/macOS/1_10_4/CreateSliceFullResolution.mov Here is the test file: https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/macOS/1_10_4/CreateSliceFullResolution.afdesign I guess your questions are answered by that video? @Old Bruce Thanks for the suggestion! You're right! That does work! It's at least a bit faster that way, only having to duplicate the background for each group instead of having to drag all the slice borders to the bounds.
