  1. Lucky (for me) that you found that cmd+A to get the rest back.
  2. Wow, A_B_C thanks for the tip. I didn't know it would do that. That's very handy. Cool, it even works on groups. Wow!
  3. MEB, in the attached, the blue rectangle is twice as far behind the red as is the yellow, so I would figure that the red's shadow should spread further on the blue than it does on the yellow. Because the light is coming down at an angle. Likewise assuming depth of the blue rectangle the shadow of the yellow and red should be larger on the white background. Sort of like I have tried to do using a mask in the right image but it didn't come off too well. The shadow edge using a mask is roundish shape. It needs a cleaner cutoff. Or is there something I am missing? (I have the intensity of the shadow way darker just to show up.) I have run into this a few times and I appreciate your help if you have a way around it. 4. In the Customize Toolbar there is an Arrange icon that allows access to all Alignment options from a single icon so a huge area of the toolbar is not used up with all the individual Align icons. It would be handy to have a single icon that would allow access to all the Distribute options.
  5. This is why I'd really like to be able to turn the fx into a layer of it's own. When I have multiple items overlapping the drop shadow needs to be larger when showing upon the objects further away, so pieces from multiple shadows are needed.
  6. Achim63, yes Silhouette Studio does this quite well. Have you found a way to get the output into AD?
  7. Sorry if this has been covered, I couldn't find it in a search. When I open a new document and pass my move tool cursor over the origin corner (upper left) it changes to a 4 headed arrow. I can drag and drop this "arrow" anywhere. But noting seems to happen other than a copy of the "arrow" has been placed at that location. I can then do it again once more so that I have two spots that will cause the 4 headed arrow cursor to appear. I can continue to drag these two "arrows" if I can find them again. But they don't seem to do anything. What are these "arrows" for? I thought maybe it was to allow moving the origin of the drawing, but no such luck. I'm using AD version 1.1.2.24498.
  8. If it's your birthday how come we are the ones getting the gifts? Happy Birthday Matt.
  9. Fantastic grid. It will be very useful. Is there a way to move the zero point that I am missing? Great work by the team!
  10. Thanks Alex. I figured there had to be a way. I should have figured that out myself. Mike
  11. How can I copy a complex gradient from a stroke to a fill and vice versa? Is there a way to select both the fill and stroke when creating a gradient?
  12. MEB and Hokusai FYI in AD I don't get a contextual menu either when right clicking or control clicking on a layer.
  13. A new version was just released. The beta can reside on your drive along with the app store version. In fact it is necessary for the app store version to remain on your drive. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/6428-affinity-designer-customer-beta-rc2-11223562/ I hope that link will work otherwise go to the Affinity Designer Beta portion of the forum. The top entry will get you there.
  14. FYI I suspect this was accidentally left in. There's a debug tab on the Layers Effects Styles panel. I decided not to play with it when I saw button named Crash! :o Just a fantastic up date. AD has gotten to be so much fun and so powerful. Great work from everybody on the team!
  15. Thank you, thank you, thank you for fixing this. It's looking good so far in 1.1.2.23562.
  16. I haven't had that problem, try the beta version and I suspect the issue will be gone.
  17. Turned off the single Bevel/Emboss and the rest of the delays went away. That really makes the 3D and the Bevel/Emboss pretty unusable. Frustration.
  18. Thanks Matt. FYI I turned off the 3D fx on all layers and the all the delays dropped to about a quarter what they were. Still had the beachball, just for shorter times.
  19. I resent it to your email. Mike Fels (me) will be the sender. Thanks for looking at this. Mike
  20. I'm hoping you can help me figure out why my drawing reacts so slowly. It really bogs down AD. I'm emailing the drawing to you. The drawing is not all that big or complex. I have the Apple Activity Monitor (AM) open to just see what is happening. I'm in Separated mode to make it easier to also see the AM. Doesn't seem to matter which mode or which tool is active. I open the drawing, and let it sit for a minute. Then zoom in to about 300%, it takes 30 seconds just to properly display the full screen. Then select a layer. Then select a different layer. The spinning beach ball displays for a good minute. The AM says "AD is not responding" and is showing just short of 200% CPU usage. Not sure how Apple calculates over 100%, but... Sometimes if I don't do anything it repeats the above all by itself. If I step through the layers, just clicking on them. I again get the spinning beachball after 2 or 3 layers. AM says AD is not responding. 200% CPU usage. etc. I pan and it takes another 30 seconds to display the screen properly. A couple of the layers are compound, I have tried separating curves into separate layers. No real change. It's really hard to work on a drawing with all the delays. I have had this problem with a few drawings, but this one seems to be the worst. The drawings are all vector. What can I do to improve response? I am using beta 1.1.2.23308, but tried other betas and the results were the same. 27" iMac late 2009, Yosemite 10.10.1 I appreciate your help.
  21. I think this is important. If the transform was done using a percentage, then the Power Duplicate should use a percentage. But in this case when it's done using an absolute value the PD should continue using an absolute value. Just as if the transform was done using a rotational angle it needs to continue using the rotational angle. Which it does.
