3rd Party Images
Sam Neil replied to Sam Neil's topic in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on Desktop
I agree Walt. I think they would have their own API and not that simple. But in the case of FREEPIK we have purchased a licence and it would be great to simple have it integrated into the suite where for example we would log in like the way currently we tick the box I AGREE...- 3 replies

Is it possible to add support for FreePik (https://www.freepik.com/) or any other similar sites like the current 3 that we in the suite? An option to define it manually perhaps?

I created a document in APUB and opened in AD and the icon for APUB document has not been associated to AD and obviously double clicking on it will ask me if I want to open it with either of the Affinity products. Any reason why?

Image Opacity
Sam Neil replied to Sam Neil's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Thanks Dan; Got it!!!! -
I am sure this has been mentioned but I find the document loading feed back on the trio of the application very poor. Can you please consider using the progress bar dialogue you use when exporting, also on opening documents? At the moment it is very poor. Apart from that loving Affinity products and to hell with Adobe!!!

I am a Windows user and use the 3 applications and I agree, the Mac-centric approach and the placement of the OK & Cancel buttons are a mess on windows.

These don't solve the issue as APUB will display the text LTR even though you can switch to an Arabic font. I am currently working on a book (Bi-lingual, Farsi - English) and was unable to use APUB and since I did not want to pay for Adobe, ended up producing it in MS Publisher and it is a pain in the neck since PagePlus also does not support RTL.... So Support for RTL is a MUST if this product is to be successful IMHO.

Wanting to add the importance of RTL feature which I think should have been added from the beginning and I guess brings to the title of this topic. While I appreciate this is not as simple as it sounds, it currently renders APUB useless for a project which requires the use of Farsi/Arabic text. As a result had to go back to the former foe (Adobe ID) and make peace with it.

LTR Text Support

Well sadly I have gone back to Adobe InDesign for this project which is almost so pointless and I am yet to use APUB that I have purchased. Very disappointing.... -
Affinity Publisher is Apple’s Mac App of the Year
Sam Neil replied to Patrick Connor's topic in News and Information
Well done guys! Aren't you pleased you built the Publisher!!! ? -
If you are running Windows 10 in S mode I suspect that might be the reason you cannot run it. However I could be wrong....

Affinity Publisher (1.7) Launch Announcement
Sam Neil replied to Patrick Connor's topic in News and Information
Loving the new Publisher. Its such a shame it came a bit too late for a project I am working on that really could have done with the Personas and I finished it in PagePlus. But now I am officially saying good bye to PagePlus and saying hello to Publisher. Thank you for your efforts guys! -
1.7.0.257 will not load.
Sam Neil replied to Sam Neil's topic in [ARCHIVE] Publisher beta on Windows threads
Thank you JFisher. That has worked!!!! -
The latest version of BETA does not load. I have Build 1809 (OS Build 17763.348) of Windows 10. Any suggestions?

Sorry can you explain what do you mean by this? Unfortunately Publisher is no way near that for my purposes. The fact that I cannot place Images in a workspace without placing them immediatly into the document simply is not very comfortable. How does PP do it? I am an avid PP user and cannot follow your point.
