It eventually completed the upgrade after over approximately 3 hours.

I have downloaded the upgrade 1.8.6 but it has taken hours to get to 2/3rds of the Extracting continuum. Is this an Affinity problem or an Apple problem?

The screen shot was taken earlier when it was stuck. Then it continued to extract but is hung up at about 2/3rds.

My iMac OS 10.14.6 crashed when I tried to print a document with a placed image while in Aff Pub 1.7.2 . Version 1.7.3.475 (Beta) solved it. Thanks.

I did as you suggested (I think). The embedded Designer file and Publisher doc both have same setup 

• Prefer embedded

• Colour - CMYK/8

• Color profile - Generic CMYK profile

Publisher crashes when attempting to print.

When I converted the type to curves and exported as svg, the placed file in Affinity Designer printed correctly.

My job required that a pdf file (with imbedded type) be placed into a new Affinity Designer document. When the new pdf was exported by Affinity Designer, the imbedded type in the placed pdf was replaced by a default Affinity typeface. Apparently Affinity Designer does not recognize imbedded type fonts in a placed pdf file. Is this a bug?

[Editing placed images]

I am a new user converting over from Adobe products. I placed four similar images into my Affinity Designer document, two of the images showed as "images", two showed as "embedded images."  They were placed in exactly the same manner. I was able to edit the stroke on the two identified as "images" but was unable to edit the ones identified as "embedded images". If placed in exactly the same way, why would one be labeled as "images" only and the other labeled "embedded image"? Any thoughts?
