  1. Such things are the reason why I am using different apps where possible. Affinity is fast in bringing new features (often features not really needed to most of the users) ..... but Affinity is on the slowest side, when it's about fixing software problems. Fixing problems not seems to be their main priority, and so be prepared this bug will remain a long time I guess! This is just my opinion after struggling with different problems, some making app almost unusable, apps I paid for.

  2. Now I am pi..ed off too! There is no trustworthy workaround for this bug, so I could work fast and stable as it been before this damned update ...... bringing us this bug! This is more than dilettantish what Affinity is doing here, even knowing about this bug and not fixing it! Bug bringers!

I forgot: I the past I already spent plenty of time to report bugs, try settings, report ....... mail .............  but his is much more frustrating if you spend these times and the bug will not get fixed! So I will just forget about that, and live with ...king bugs ..... and may be in another years bug will get fixed. (there is one bug that really needed about 3 years or so to get fixed ..... this is fast ha ha ha ha .........  )

I would not use words as pissed off, or others like this, but: I you want to use a software for professional work, for earning money, for making jobs, for every day flawless use, then I been disappointed plenty of times with Affinity Photo and Designer. I am using Designer from the early beginning, and yes ....... there been many many bugs over the years, some of them really frustrating and annoying. Bug fixing (this is my opinion) never been on priority list number one for Affinity products, as new features started to show up, but bugs remained. In such moments I been ....sed off, and this is also reason why I started this thread.

    My idea: Fix any bugs that got reported, all of them, so no bugs are around anymore (will not happen, but most bugs fixed would be great) , ..... then you may work on new features. And bring these new features .......... without adding new bugs! Sometimes I ask myself: Who it testing this software, are they really "working" with it, or just playing around?

    Yes, I love Designer, ..... Photo not so much (I find it pretty overloaded, and no option to reduce the options, so you have to search all the time, if you do not use every day) ...... but I hat the bugs!

  5. When designing electric guitar wirings, you have to add many strokes, and often you have to delete them, and make it new again. And also this is no workaround, cause as soon as you delete a stroke (when you went the wrong way), the bug comes again, over and over again!

    My suggestion to Affinity: Bring more smaller updates more often, and just remove these annoying bugs so one can work with your software fine again! 

    And please fix bugs first ........ before adding more new features again, ....... and bringing us new bugs again not being there before!

  6. Designing special electric diagrams is much brain work, and often needs plenty time of trying ... and again trying. If that has to go fast I still use a real pencil, a piece of paper, and an eraser. What I would love here would be an eraser tool that is working like the „whole eraser“ in iOS Notability app, or also the apple iOS photos app eraser when marking photos. As soon as you touch an object, a stroke, with the eraser tool, the whole object is gone. 

    As far as I see this is not possible with Affinity Designer in the moment. I could imagine that this would be a great tool addition to Designer. What you think?

  7. Just keep going with the pencil .........  is the only way to go, if I decide to work with the pencil. Yes, I can improvise, but, Affinity or Serif should just make this work!

    As long as I been working with Designer on mac, since the first days as I was an early user, I had double text in menus, when entering values, as stroke width, ....... now with the latest update this irritating problem is gone. So this been a bug for 5 years. And this is the one thing I do not like with Affinity apps, more and more new features, but some bugs just remain and remain. This is frustrating for long time users, and when new bugs show up with new updates, ........  no words for this. 

    But: Yes I also love the apps! It´s a bit like love and hate relationship! 

  8. Another question now: For the cloning with the two fingers press and hold option there is no need of a long press and hold, that is only needed for the context menu to open up. With the two fingers option the other hand just slides the active object, and so this is cloned. So the long press action should not be a problem for the double press fingers cloning action. So I still do not understand why not possible?

  9. No idea about another way of cloning elements, so we could keep going using the pencil? In the moment to me this is really bad, cause in my work I have to clone elements all the time, and this has to work fast, as it is when working with Desinger on Mac. If I have to lay down the pencil each time, I have to clone an element, .......  hundreds of times ......  I´m sure you´ll understand that this is not really productive working. Why not adding another command like multiple finger double touch, or something like that? This would work faster, and no need to put the pecil to the side to use a finger?

  10. Hey guys, I paid for this software, and I am working with it, every day, and it has to work, period!

    Back in 2017:

    Now in 2019: Bug still there!

    It‘s a cool thing, working with the pencil, when you have to put the pencil to the side (for each new fu..ng clone process) , and use your fingers again, if you want to clone elements. Really professional behaviour, I have to say.


    Yes, sorry about this - it should also work with the pencil! We will get it fixed.

    Yes, ... including arrows ... wow, finally arrows which should have been in first release!

    I love and hate affinity apps, due to really bad bug fixing, promising and nothing‘s happening. Unbelievable!
