Flippin 'eck, that was QUICK! My workbook has just arrived and I LIKE it - it is a coffee table book, a very useful coffee table book, and I am going to love dipping into it! Thank you for arranging such quick delivery!

PagePlus X9, in separate chapters controlled by BookPlus (which is a feature of PagePlus X9). The PDF-X3 output was sent direct to the printers with no modification.

Please note that if you wish to place an order, the online store buying system does not know about your Affinity forum login/account.

Ordering a book will create a new account, so the "Sign In" option will not know your email or password until after you have placed an order.

Hi, I'm Hilary Hartigan, AKA sunset. I always said that when I retired I would buy a new (electric) piano. Yesterday hubby asked me which would I prefer, a piano or a Mac. Let's just say that the Mac will arrive in the next few days :) And, after working my way through Windows 3.1 to Windows 8.1.  I am going to be a complete novice with the Mac.

I'm a total fan of things Serif but I really need something new as 'I'm all scrapped out' (a CraftArtist expression) and I don't want to get left behind on a Windows-Shelf. This looks different and exciting and fresh. By trade I'm a part time lecturer (computing out in the community), a self employed publisher and designer (but looking to change tack), a family history researcher and recorder (nearly finished) and a lover of logic and order. I have a head overflowing with ideas  :D and tons of ambitions  :D . I hope that I can make a useful contribution  :)

Not strictly triangles, there are a few polygons in there, too; but it was an interesting exercise, a style I've never tried before, and a good way to practice and learn some basic techniques after a long break away from graphics. Nice and easy with Designer (for Windows) and I'm not worried by any minor flaws - life's too short for perfection

    Looks great Sunset.
There's nothing like experimenting to learn a few techniques.
    Thanks for sharing :)

A gallery would be fab.As a Daisytrail member who is getting used to this software, I do miss not being able to see how other members are getting on with all the effects and techniques. Most of us have limited time to spend in the forum and it would be nice to be able to visit the work being done by other members without all the tedious clicking and scrolling,  :)  :)  :)  :)

Yes.  A gallery would be great.  Most of us have limited time to spend in the forum and it would be nice to be able to visit the work being done by other members without all the tedious clicking and scrolling, especially when often the only new thing in the topic is a new comment on previously viewed work.

I agree that it would be nice to have a more visual approach than https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/10-share-your-work.

Almost every creative app does have a gallery reachable from their website to show off the works done by it's users. Why not Affinity?

If you want to browse works done by users, you have to register and check the share your work section. As a visitor i wouldn't bother tbh. This should be made easy.

I browse the forum as a guest quite often, only sign in when posting, so it affects me as user as well.

    What do you think?

I've updated the command centre, the computer chair is in and the Serif cat is not allowed to terrorise the mouse - well, not much, he has a watching brief, but I think he would jump down on to that desktop given half a chance and then the mouse would be terrified :)

You must have wondered about the man in the moon? Wanted to know more? I flew up there last October (31st) and had a chat to him, he gets bored but enjoys watching what we do. He has a very nice living accommodation and - I was surprised to learn - there are actually quite a few moon people up there, but this is the chief. He wouldn't allow photographs so I've reconstructed the scene for you with Affinity Designer. Enjoy :)

If you're sitting comfortably.....the MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display. It had to be a laptop because my workhorse souped up desktop with decent sized monitor will still be my office computer, and I couldn't work with a smaller screen.

And it's going to have to pay for itself, that's my motivation. I have a niece who designs and sells to Liberty, etc etc, so I have something to work towards (and we'll be able to discuss Macs, now). Also, I'll never give up CraftArtist but I'm well into the stage where I want to be working with my own original designs (aspirations for the DT shop??).

Virginia Woolf famously said  'a woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction' - this is what I've bought, a room of my own to create graphics. Can you tell that I'm excited  :D  :D  :D ?

Thanks for the link - bookmarked  :)

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, using the eraser was a good exercise but (of course) takes a lot of refining and the crow was standing on some very green grass, fortunately I can go back to him at any time. Similarly with his feet, it will be easier to introduce some extra foliage, I think, to cover them than to work on them. Time is also the biggest issue at the moment :)

I don't think so, I think he's keeping an eye on Nasa and similar stuff - he did say he likes it nice and quiet up there, has plenty of visitors from other planets (which was a revelation) and does not want the moon to become a satellite colony for earthmen. I can see his point :D
