  1. Just a few enhancement in Macro/Library tab: - Remove the number of steps {steps: x} so that each macro take less place vertically - Put macro 100%width in the panel - Being able to set a background color for the macro, so it is easier to organize and find them.
  2. Yes, but anyway it's very disturbing that with several layers selected, merge selected become available in menu, but not in contextual menu in layer panel. All layers options should be into contextual menu on layer to avoid going into menu and for coherence.
  3. So why does it live update when hitting a color inside the color itself or when moving rgb sliders ? It does, and it should does when taking the picker from there and select a color with the picker I'm talking about the picker inside fill tool when you click on the color What we should be able to do : move tool, select a layer, edit fill, check 'lock alpha', press i and pick a color anywhere, with live update. Actually I have to click the color, then click the picker and drag it without any feedback, then click on the circle on the right of the picker so my picked color actually goes into fill tool color and show in my layer. wow ! Too many click and inconsistency actually, really.
  4. Patrick, no, just a welcome email, and a second one with my license key.
  5. Have bought Photo a few days ago, from website, received an email with my key, but no macro pack. And of course, no more welcome screen ... Is it possible to get these macros somewhere ?
  6. aaah !! Thanks for the tip ! Would be cool if it also appear in one column, even lot smaller. Globally, let the user decide how to work !
  7. Keep in minds it is a very new product that is compared to a 20years old standard and mature software. This alone is ever a success, that no other have. Now yes, it really needs to mature in nearly all areas regarding flexibility and workflow efficiency in production. Lack tons of small things here and there to be effective. But I'm quite confident it will come. Settings not being saved, missing very basic features can make it feel like an unfinished product. I agree some stuff should be rearrange (assistant options itself should be in preferences, layer options in menus not being in contextual menu on layer panel is a bummer, etc). I think the Affinity team really need to listen professionals trying to get into the product. We have achieve such maturity with Photoshop efficiency over decades that it's really hard to beat. Not a hazard it is still a standard without real competition. Tons of small things everywhere, shortcuts with shift/ctrl/alt combinations and contextual menus everywhere allow us to be very fast and effective with very rarely going into menus. It also have lot of customization option allowing lot of different use of the product, according to each preferences. This is such sort of efficiency/adaptation that really lack into AP, and where developers really need to listen feedback from professionals using such tools all day long. If they listen and enhance AP, it definitely have the potential to become a landmark in the industry. If not, it will just stay a gimp-bis. We all need to be patient regarding development of such product, Photoshop didn't make it in a few month ... Regarding your Wacom problem, my intuos 3 is as responsive as in Ps, maybe check your driver version or such, there is other posts on this subject.
  8. Honestly I'm thinking myself that promotion or not it is like free actually. And I'm questioning long term development and support at this price regarding (good) quality of the actual version. Sure it need lot of enhancement and refining here and there, but even a 200€ it would be a bargain. And even, maybe, look more serious for professionals. It give a lot of hopes for many professionals seeing finally a real competitor to adobe and without this rental shit on top of it. It now need to mature regarding lot of options and customization, and performance/bug fix to be production ready, but it is really close to the mark. For 40€, it's just a steal... My 2cents
  9. Thanks, yes it is my photography stuff. And no, no 3d particles, my photography stuff is without any manipulation, just raw development (Lightroom) ;)
  10. - I really would like all of documents I open to be windowed (in a detached window, not full size inside UI with tab) I always untab my docs, but then when I open another one, it is tabbed and take all the place, really boring to untab them one by one each time. - When a document open, it should never be bigger than 100%. If we can see it all at 100%, show it 100%, if not, 75%, 50%, 25%, 12.5% etc) - When resizing a document window, would rocks if the image itself could stay centered in the window when resizing. Actually I can resize the window, the document itself doesn't move and can easily end up with a dark window showing nothing. - When I see all my document, so the window is larger than the shown document itself, why does I still have scroll-bars ? I can scroll so I see only 50% of it in width/height. Really disturbing, if the window is larger than the doc I should have no scroll-bar at all, like in any other software on the planet. Indeed, no scroll-bar = you see it all. - Could we have, in the window top bar or bottom one, some info on the open doc ? color profile, bit-depth, size in pixel/cm ? These info are really important and should be always easily seen. Switching into channels panel for each open doc is a pain.
  11. Waiting for this workflow enhancement, I was playing with macros. So, here is a macro that will return the selected layers selection. Still really need these options, as this macro doesn't answer subtracting, intersecting etc layer selections. SelectedLayersToSelection.zip
  12. Also, when right clicking a layer in layer panel, contextual options : - Select all visible layers - Select all layers - Invert layers selection And of course, talking about layers: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/33352-afph-multiple-layers-selection/
  13. When using the Move Tool, each time we click on a layer in the document window, it select the layer under the cursor. This is generally quite disturbing, and an option 'auto select' would really be helpful. This option could appear under toolbar with move tool options. If option off, select layer with ctrl+click when using the move tool. Also when clicking on a layer (in document), with lot of semi transparent layers, it rarely select the layer we want. Having contextual menu with all layers altering the pixel with clicked would really be helpful, or in move tool options, when the name of the layer appear, a drop-down list of all layers being underneath selected layer (or both !).
  14. Please, never, never open a file at more than 100%. Having a preference option to always open documents as window would also rocks. And in a document window, we don't need so much space around, make scroll bars going too much outside of the doc
  15. For 1, yes it is a must have. When you hit 'show rotation center" (which settings isn't saved between session grr) you can move the center and it rotate accordingly. But not scaling ! Scaling should scale according the this center also. For 2, if you are talking about deep compositing, I don't think AP is the right tool.
  16. Actually, we can change numerical value by clicking in the value field and using mouse wheel. Nice. But, TheFoundry Nuke has a thing that is even a lot better : it change the numerical value according to where is the cursor in the field ! Let's say you have a value 100 with cursor 100| the wheel will do 101/102/103 with cursor 10|0 the wheel will do 110/120/130 with cursor 1|00 the wheel will do 200/300/400 This is extremely powerful, precise and fast ! Would love to see this in AP B)
  17. I have history on and layers panel always visible, no delay at all, working nice ! I remember some years ago, Ps also had some problems with some Wacom driver versions. I guess Affinity should collaborate directly with Wacom on such problems (I also guess they ever do ;) )
  18. Yes, this is how I see things. AP is very new and still a very good start, and support is listening so it's all on the right way. They just need more/better feedback from users to enhance it and make it a mature product for sure.
  19. Just a think, but maybe adding our configuration into forum signatures could help developers immediately seing it, and avoiding us repeating each time. Just done it, in case. But please keep only a few lines, or forum will become unreadable with tons of vertical space waste in signatures ;)
  20. Arg, same here, assistant options are not saved between sessions. And agree with previous answer, these settings should be in preferences, and of course remain between sessions. All global settings like this should be saved and stay. Or we will heavily need a python API with some startup script that set all our environment B)
  21. Sorry Darlclown, was a bit upset by the previous answer just saying export-psd ... I don't want AP do be just a copy of Ps, but like you say, some things are quite standard now-days and it's not a hazard. reinventing the wheel often make things worse, I was very surprised the first time I opened Save As when I saw only Affinity format, remind me years ago workflow. And yes, even if I don't like Adobe rental and slow development (and total lack of support), Ps has a very refined way of doing things.
  22. Yes, after all why keeping thing simple and quiet standard when we can get clumsy stuff everywhere  So when you need to change format, you have to export, close document, reopen the exported document. wow, effective workflow really !!
  23. Why not putting file formats in save as window ? psd, png, jpg etc could all be in save as. And keep export for exporing as other format while keeping original one open, which could then serve as 'save for web' and such, with visual preview before exporting. This save as with only apphoto format is really, really limiting ... <_<
