  1. Works great here. Regarding crop tool, as we have no Ps Image/Crop equivalent to crop image regarding actual selection: Couldn't the crop tool open with automatically adjusted to actual selection if there is one ? Some we could do just C / Enter. Would a fast and ergonomic solution !
  2. Are you serious ? Python is used in a lot of CG industry, nearly all high-end software (maya, 3dsmax, Nuke etc) have python API, it is THE standard in this industry.
  3. Well.... won't arg for years about this, it's not what prevent me from using AP ... But, open a Tiff file. Then do Ctrl+S -> it save the file as tiff BUT! Ctrl+Shift+S won't allow to save tiff on another name, you must use export !! Consistency please ...
  4. Couldn't agree more on all points. I will post soon a complete wishlist from our team feedback, and several of your point is in also.
  5. Same with Paste FX ! Was about to create a new thread for that, need ctrlV a layer, then in Edit menu we have Paste FX, but nothing in layer panel contextual menu. Consistency please ;)
  6. Something we use a lot is Photshop Layer > Matting > Defringe It allow to correct problems that appears on borders of elements depending on the luminosity/color of background. I can't find such tool in AP, there is Defringe but it is totally different tool. https://www.sitepoint.com/get-rid-of-those-pesky-edge-halos-in-photoshop/
  7. It would be better to have a real scripting API, like python
  8. Yes Sean, developing myself lot of pipeline tools and production tools, even some Photoshop python scripting, I can assure you that parsing psd file is just an horrible experience  Which can leave aftereffects to lot of developers  What I think cumbersome is that there is some convention and in a few areas AP isn't doing well. For example, lot of softwares use Save As box to save in all supported formats, and you end up with the saved (as) document opened. Export is used to really transform the file into something else (like a 3dsmax file into obj for example), and this won't alter the opened document. Like Save for web, which is different than save as jpeg.
  9. Arg, sorry Chris, didn't though about the Flood Fill Tool !! Showing captures is always better ;)
  10. Thanks Callum, but I guess you can delete this thread due to duplicated: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/33352-afph-multiple-layers-selection/
  11. Not really, at next startup this settings will get reset. This should go into preferences, and add 'Rasterized' option to not create adjustment layer at all.
  12. Well, it IS a 'Pixel' layer. Sorry, but having no feedback with picker, and then having to click on the color circle to get into fill is just totally counterproductive. Lot too much clicks to achieve something so simple. See attached file
  13. This is real problem globally in AP. All settings should be saved, too many things have to be reclicked/set between sessions and even sometimes between documents.
  14. Ok, so Affinity, when will we have AfterEffect and PremierePro competitors ? Lightroom is a complete different product, personally I will continue to use it and can't see how AP could replace it even with DAM.
  15. Alt+Click on the mask alone isn't enough ?
  16. Affinity Photo isn't a DAM derawtiser I guess. I don't think we need advanced dam like in Lightroom, more a replacement for Bridge and xnview likes. Anyway, having their own .apphoto format, it will become very soon a must have.
  17. Do you have wide gamut monitor ? Is it calibrated ? Which tool do you use to display exported image ? Is it color aware ? Looks like a color profil conversion is missing at export.
  18. Please ! We need a lot more options/customization to use the software according to each preferences. Don't force everyone to use something like you think it should do (a la apple!!).
  19. Would be really useful to have a preference to disable auto selecting layers ! And putting selection on ctrl+click. Really really annoying to always select other unwanted layers. Please let the user decide on such important workflow !!
  20. Is there something special regarding Tools panel shortcuts ? If I go to Preferences, shortcut, select Tools, and put Ctrl+T into Perspective Tool, it doesn't work. Perspective tool tooltip show shortcut as T, and indeed if I cycle with T it finally work (after text...). So, how can I put Ctrl+T to Perspective tool and mesh warp tool ? Also, when a shortcut is ever used on another command, it just show it with an exclamation mark. No way to directly go to the other command, no button to delete it from other command. Would really help. Result in Shortcuts.xml: <Item type="ToolType" tool="MeshWarp" key="T" modifierKeys="Control" /> <Item type="ToolType" tool="PerspectiveEffect" key="T" modifierKeys="Control" /> seems modifierKeys isn't taken into account for tools ??
  21. Just noticed that when opening heavy documents, we still can use AP, which is great ! Does same thing for saving documents, background saving, is something we can hope for ? I have AP saving a 1.2Go file, taking only 15% of cpu, so I guess I could still do some stuff. This is something that, when it arrived in Ps, was greatly appreciated by entire team here.
  22. Does Designer will support exporting ai or any vector shape to dwg file ? We use Illustrator sometimes to load pdf files and export them as dwg to import them into other software for CG production, and if Designer could do it it would be a step in right direction to throw Illustrator out
  23. Hi, I have some ai files that open right with all vector element and such. But I also have some very small files that, in Illustrator, show only shapes without colors/contours and such. These files open as empty file in Photo. I can send such file, but directly to Serif via email, not on the forum.
