  1. The only thing that could slow it down is a slow machine, or lots of fonts or ICC profiles. Could this apply to you?

    fonts - no

    slow machine - yes

    icc profile - no

    I'm testing this beta on girlfriends laptop - a youtube/facebook 300€ machine, like I said 5400rpm hdd.

Anyways the loading times are better that in previous beta but still takes 6sec to close even tho there's nothing open in AP.

1 question Mark: Like I said I'm testing this beta on my gf laptop, will I be able to install and transfer my licence on my new pc when I get it next year?

  2. This can be easily resolved by composing software in this matter so you can extend your program capabilities by buying separate persona inside you program.

For example you bought Affinity Photo, and you want to have designer capabilities so you can buy in your Affinity Photo designer persona and voila!

Then you can buy for example dark room persona, then video editing persona, then maybe vector animation persona, 3D modeling persona etc...

One software to rule them all ;)

Was thinking about that as well and yea, it would be cool.

  3. Are there any plans to put out a version of affinity programs that will run on windows arm computers natively?

I belive that a lot of tablets are on their way with arm + windows combo and if you can make a usable pro app for iPad, I think the same will be possible for windows running arm tablet.

  4. Hello. I have been using the Windows beta of Affinity Photo and I have enjoyed using the product. It is a pleasant experience. I purchased the license this morning and have read the license agreement. Pardon me if I have overlooked a statement on this matter but I have a question. Is Affinity Photo for Windows being offered under a perpetual license with a one time fee to include all future updates?

Thank you for considering the question.

    Don

    Hi Don

The updates should be free untill v2.0 comes out which won't be anytime soon (still years ahead), but even then if you find that you don't need an of those features (v2.0) you can continue using your v1.x photo/designer.

  5. Hi Novak,

There's still a few issues but yes it has improved in version 1.5. All Nik Collection plugins run now.

If you are using a Mac you can get more details here (click the plug-in name for details).

Tnx Meb. Nope, windows user here anyways it's great to hear, it would be even better if plug in developers put some effort in making their products compatible with Affinity Photo.

  6. Hi MEB.

Just bought latest release of affinity and signed into this forum.

    But i have an issue.

First i tried the "affinity-photo-public-beta" and decided to buy the full update "affinity-designer-1.5.0.36" on special offer which i thought was an update to "affinity-photo" just with a different title. Turns out that there is a completly seperate version "affinity-photo" also at present only in a beta form. If i understand things correctly.

I would much prefer to of bought the affinity-photo version as i do a lot of image editing and use a wide veriety of editing tools.

I was only alerted to my mistake when i saw your answer to member "iriskin"

who wanted to know were the "Clone Stamp Tool " was in Affinity.

[the Clone Stamp Tool is an important tool to me as i use it a lot with my present software].

    Your reply to "iriskin"

"The Clone Brush Tool is only available in Affinity Photo which is our photo editing software".

I doubled checked your site for more info and realised had i scrolled down the page some more i would have seen the reference to "affinity-photo" still in beta.

But then again i had already downloaded the affinity-photo-public-beta

apparently and recieved email notification that full version was now available to buy.

All for me a bit confusing.

Is there any way we can resolve this.

Do not mind uninstalling version i have at present till, hopfully, you reply with a mutually aggreable salution.

Thanks for any trouble taken in response.

Just buy both, it's not like they are an arm and a leg :)

  7. JokeRat,

Sorry this is proving arduous. We were slightly surprised ourselves at the restrictions that Amazon fulfilment have on delivery country. You will understand that the Affinity Store is a new approach for us and we are also finding these teething problems and reacting to them ourselves. We are currently discussing the possibility of finding another way to fulfil to the excluded list, as we don't want this situation to remain indefinitely. I think that Amazon are a very good fulfilment partner for the territories that they do cover, but we still wish to address physical delivery to those excluded countries too eventually.

I hope you include Serbia as well. Really want that book.
