    Hi Tim,
We already missed a deadline before and as you may guess quite a few users weren't happy with it, so we are trying to avoid to be much specific regarding eta's.
    Hope you understand.

The program Help goes into quite a bit of detail about such things. Here's the online version of the (English) help on that topic: Chromatic Aberration.

    Hi Tim,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Thanks for your feedback. I agree that a glossary would be useful but apart from a few exceptions most the terms used in the book are relatively common in the Design field and can be easily searched/researched online.

Here's a few links that may help:
Graphic Design ABCs: A Glossary of Basic Design Terms
    Terminology Series: Graphic Design Glossary

You can also find some articles in graphic design related blogs like this:

If there's anything in particular you don't understand you can always ask here in the forums too.

I'm afraid this will be of no help but I'd like to say I agree, I'm just starting out in design and have the Affinity Designer workbook and find 2 things frustrating 1) No Glossary 2) No indication of where to find the resource file referred to at the top of the pages.

I welcome the writing of a workbook for Affinity Designer. I am sure that this is a comprehensive well-written manual for those like me wanting to increase their understanding, however, there is one major snag that I feel I must point out for the benefit of newcomers to the art of design. For those, professional graphic artists I am sure there is no problem. This is the problem, there is no Glossary of specialist terms. Consequently, for those that are not familiar with the nomenclature used in such specialist fields suffer a severe disadvantage of not understanding relevant passages simply because they have no definition for the words used. So it would be a huge plus point if a Glossary was included in this workbook or any other workbook Affinity cares to produce.

I subscribe to Computer Active Magazine, and they have a glossary of terms used in the Magazine.

Are there going to workbooks for Affinity Photo and Publisher?

I am finding it difficult to find definitions for some of the words. Anyone know a dictionary of Computer and digital graphical terms, please?

    Best wishes,

    Tim

    Hi mistertimman,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
There's a bug with smart nodes that's causing the issue you are seeing. To work around this select all nodes of the bigger shape with the Node Tool (drag a marquee selection around them - press shift if necessary to add nodes individually dragging the marquee around them again), then go to the context toolbar and select Smooth (the second icon) from the Convert section to convert them from smart nodes to smooth nodes. You should now be able to perform the Add boolean operation correctly as described in the video.

There's currently no built-in way, Tim, but Alex ('A_B_C') posted a useful workaround here. :)

    Hi mistertimman,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Yes, you can install it on as many computers as you want. The public Beta is free until Designer's commercial release. After that a license is required to run it (although you can still install it on your laptop and desktop computers if you own both).
