Do you have real text in your text frames and can we have at least a screenshot?

One last question before I run out of guess work: how is the image labeled in the layers panel? In German it says: freigestellt (Image) . knock-out?

Mmmh - and still no luck? Can you put a color filled rectangle behind your PNG to check the alpha channel is really there?

You´ll need an centerline autotracer - otherwise you´ll always get a filled path as a result. I don´t think vectorizer.io supports this feature like SuperVectorizer. I have a few CNC-fonts but all convert keys into at least a double line - which may cause extra processing time. Cheers

Sure I did - but you can insert blanks to - and have full control over spacing. So not too bad i guess. -

In the meantime you might want to try out this:

Not my cup of tea - but as long it´s a static visualisation it may work. For animated UIs mock-ups I guess there are specialised apps available.

Then you can go away with a vector mask (2 rectangles - one for image size one on top for mask and Boolean subtract to get a mask shape) with a mid gray color fill set to Screen blendmode:

Not sure what synchronized means here - it´s just a double of the image; one with lower opacity in the background layer and one masked. Is this setup a problem in your workflow?

When it´s just content with active alpha channel enable Transparency in the document Setup under Color for example image based texture rendering: TransparencyBG.tga Cheers

Alternatively you can just export "Selection without background" which will do exactly what it says no matter if Transparency Background is enabled. If you need the Artboard size for export do as @DWright already suggested. Cheers

If I recall correctly pinning will work with real text - not the filler text. You can change that in Preferences->General ->Insert Filler Text as Text Cheers

Do you know how to make it in Publisher? Then just send it to Designer (Edit in Designer). As far as I know there´ll be a second layer called "Master" which can be deleted. Save as a Designer file - end of story. Cheers
