How did you manage to get it to work into a square? I couldn't get the right dimensions.
Make new document 2k/72dpi. Put 3 bricks (1:2 in scale=400x200px) horizontally seamless in a row - group - align vertical/horizontal - rotate 45° - scale with shift/cmd to fit diagonally - ungroup - reset rotation of the middle brick - enable outline view - double bricks and align accordingly till the page is filled - export to PNG - done.

Dude... why does it look so good for you? xddd
You can try my file:

Bah - this still looks ugly.
When I use it with the settings I mentioned it looks "beautiful" on a A4 landscape/400dpi:

When it´s a square brush size has no influence of the pattern just the amount of painted at the same time - no?
The screenshot shows it at 170% zoom.
-
I don´t get it: Is it a brush (which category: Intensity/round/square/texture?) or a Symbol and why are the edges softened??
-
What kind of category you made this brush for/in?

The brush icon in the layers panel.

OMG - This is just a few pixels per brick.

The Pen tool has option to "Add New Curve To Selected Curves Object"; once 1 shape is done hit "esc" and start the next one.

I made mine at least 1k (1024x1024)px.

This filter has a "Preserve Alpha" option which you might want to check next time. 😉

That´s already processed by you. We want a file untouched.
Maybe download one from say Pexels, Pixabay etc link here and run your steps:
- crop
- flatten
- curves
- denoise
- vibrance
on it, export and compare.

Layer > Geometry >
Yeah - but it´s still Geometry->Merge etc by using the context menu (RMB-click/ctrl+click) or a hotkey on selected items. 😉
-
You could have done that in Inkscape by: Break Apart (shift+cmd+K) then select a bunch of path belonging to1 character and combine (cmd+K).
In AD it´s Geometry->Separate Curves + Merge Curves.

I wasn´t able to recreate this on macOS with 1.8.3

Not that I´m aware of. This is another vector editor.

it's a marvelous feature that DrawPlus has and produces a realistic shadow effect.
Yes it´s neat aside from the overall blur:

You can use Boolean divide to be more precise and willing to draw a closed shape:

... geht in ein paar Arbeitsschritten:
1. Dupliziere die Formen
2. Boolean Add - nach ganz hinten stellen - dicke Kontur einstellen - Füllfarbe löschen
3. ->Layer->Expand Stroke
4. Boolean Divide dann Boolean Add
5. Füllfarbe löschen - Kontur anlegen - fertig
