I was talking about what comes with the installation of BigSur like TextEdit, Preview, iWork.apps, Notes etc - to adjust colours you can use their color picker over app windows without restrictions - as it was as long I can remember.
Edit: Just loaded another from the AppStore (sandboxed) and it's not asking when using the color picker.
Does this help or is there anything else I can try?

Very nice.
Fun fact is that Applejuicefactory´s own apps which uses the macOS color picker are not asking you for anything. So nice.

You don't have to sell it to me; I'm an Inkscaper since 2004 and a moderator in Chat+forum over there. You know there's a better tool for more evenly distributed nodes on an existing path where your method quite easily become useless (left example):

And you can try this in Inkscape for fun:

If you want to keep the text editable you can check that particular feature in the SVG exporter "convert text to curve" or something in that line.

How did you do that?
Straight forward I'd say - nothing special in particular. I'd make sure not to have any transparencies in the gradient - though it should work in SVG but probably not in PDF if you're going to a print shop. It's all in the file - nothing hidden or magic wands used.

It's click+hold+drag from the pipette to the place you want the color picked from. it then appears in the little circle right to the pipette - click there to make the change happen:
And you can insert a new stop by clicking onto the gradient "line" itself.

Maybe compare with this quick hack which exports well to SVG:

I tend to use a 3d app for these kind of projections. Your image has not a suitable aspect ratio though:

Mmmh - Filters->Distort->Rectangular to Polar?

I see - but the OP is on M1/Mac/BigSUR - just in case he's looking up the wrong tab. 😉
And yes - thanks to Applejuicefactory being paranoia as one only can be. On the set up on this machine you have to go to this "verify"-process for every app. Being asked to allow a content creator app to allow access to save a file to HD is kinda nonsense. But here we go. 😶

Doesn't make sense or do anything on open paths.

I don´t have any Affinity app entry like shown in the screenshot above on my M1 Mac/BigSur and have used the color picker of course. 🤔
Well - wait - it's not in "Accessibility" it's in "Screenrecording": 🤮

When the stroke is aligned to centre, but not to inside or outside.
Ok:

Is your "ear-ring" probably just a single stroke instead of a color filled shape like you will get after "expand stroke"?
A screenshot or example file might be helpful methinks.

May I ask what kind of tool this is? I have "Colors" but not "Color Chooser" that I know of.

the Color Chooser is representing all kinds of Color descriptions in one place - which you may not need.

Yes - outside the app, desktop another open app window wherever.
