Wiredframe reacted to Callum in iPad Mini 5 Support
Hi WiredFrame,
We believe the app should work fine on iPad 5 mini however until we have one in the office we can't say for sure.
Thanks
Callum

Wiredframe got a reaction from LCamachoDesign in [Beta 1.7.0.209] Still no Pen Mode option
Right, I'm using a bluetooth mouse to zoom via click+space. It's a workaround and I don't draw too often. But I agree pen mode should be implemented.

+1 for this. I keep disabling the touch panel just for using Affinity Designer with my Surface Pen ^^

Wiredframe reacted to LCamachoDesign in [Beta 1.7.0.209] Still no Pen Mode option
There is still no Pen Mode option anywhere in this application, this makes drawing and illustrating on Surface Pros, Wacom Cintiq, etc very annoying as you'll leave unwanted marks when you lay the hand on the screen. For anyone wondering, Pen Mode is an option that disables touch drawing.
All I ask is a simple if statement:
Fingers are touching the canvas, are they zooming/scrolling? If yes, do the scroll/zoom, if no do nothing. That's it, no further logic needed. Can we do this one thing? It would help massively all illustrators out there.
Thanks!

None of these shortcuts work in the Windows Version of AD, neither in the Draw nor in the Pixel Persona. Am I missing something?

Bummer. Will it be ported to Windows? Or are you planning to bring that iPad behaviour to the desktop versions?

Wiredframe got a reaction from Robert Petras in import / export .sketch format support
Since I was begging for PSD text export since day one I'd really love to see Sketch support coming instead. This would fill the gap between Mac only and Windows only Designers and collaboration would be possible. It doesn't have to be perfect, but sharing my designs as Sketch files so that the devs can inspect them in Zeplin, Avocode or Sketch Preview would be just awesome.
Thanks in advance!

Wiredframe reacted to MEB in Bleed in the Document
Hi all,
Welcome to Affinity Forums
Bleed preview (on canvas) will come in a future update still during the Public Beta.
-
Wiredframe got a reaction from wobmann in Bleed in the Document
Totally agree. Even better if bleed could be defined in the new files dialogue.

Wiredframe reacted to Mark Ingram in Affinity Designer Customer Beta - 1.6.5.123
We have this fixed, and will be available in a future patch.

Wiredframe reacted to wobmann in Bleed in the Document
The bleed should be visible in the document to place elements better.

Wiredframe got a reaction from BlueMarine in Zeplin.io integration/cooperation
If Affinity Designer would have it's own Viewer App or Service for measuring sizes and distances and copying CSS properties, we wouldn't have to rely on PSD exports anymore. My workflow is like: Designer (Illustrator until I switched) >> PSD Export >> Avocode / Zeplin.
It would be so much better if it was Affinity Designer >> Affinity Viewer.
Done.

Wiredframe reacted to Christoph Daniel in More Alignment and Distribution Options
I'd like to suggest a number of improvements to the alignment and distribution options. I'm currently thinking about migrating from Inkscape (which doesn't work well on Mac) to Designer. These are the alignment and distribution options I've grown accustomed to:
Note the following features which I haven't been able to find in Designer:
Aligning elements below, upwards, rightwards or leftwards of a given element (the options with the yellow box the blue boxes are aligned to). This is sort of an "outward alignment", if that makes sense. Distribute the left boundary, centre, or right boundary of objects instead of being limited to equal distances between objects. More extensive font alignment options. This includes aligning to font baselines, distributing text based on baselines, and the likes. An excellent feature which I haven't found in any vector tool so far (I may not have been looking hard enough, though...) would be alignment and distribution of text objects based on the box starting at the base line and ending at the cap height. If I want to centre text in a rectangle vertically, this imaginary box is what I would want to have centred. Alignment and distribution of nodes on a path. Perhaps some of those features are already there and I simply haven't found them yet, but the remaining ones I think would be helpful tools.

Wiredframe reacted to ToniV in Expand stroke REALLY needs to be fixed for Affinity Designer
I created this in Affinity designer (for Mac). A lot of circles with strokes. It would have been handy to just create circles with strokes and use "expand stroke", but that does not work. It creates insane paths. Instead ,I had to create two circles for every circle, and cut a hole into them using the other. Like in 1999 with Adobe Illustrator. Please, fix this!

Wiredframe reacted to fdelaneau in Affinity Designer focus on web design
We are all waiting for it but publishing a half baked software wouldn’t help anyone.
The beta is coming in about a month and if it is like the other 2 Affinity public betas, you will be able to use it "carefully" in production right from day one.

Wiredframe got a reaction from toltec in Affinity on Android
I don't know, but I use my Galaxy Tab S3 mainly for making notes and doing wireframes / scribbles for my screendesign work. I'd NEVER design on my tablet, that's what my workstation is for! It's not very productive to work on a tablet. But that's a general issue. Why would I spend 2 hours fiddling with a tablet if I could do the same work (better) on my workstation in just 15 minutes? Just because it's cool? I don't agree.
