Summing things up, Dan. Double standards and selective treatment.
Discrediting  but not directly a user and his experience or the value of his advice based on an over-interpretation or even misinterpretation of his previous posts and spur-of-the-moment conclusions is fine and doesn't qualify as an offensive behavior.
Like also acusations of discouraging/"warning" new users against Affinity products wchich is not true. I've mentioned many times that I think affinity programs have potential.
    I mean like this bellow↓
If I write about someone that he is a frustrate, but not directly (like bellow↓), will it pass your standards, or will you delete my account.
Cluttering up a thread like @thomaso did, by writing off-topic about APub v2, without even owning V2 and admitting it in signature, is probably not a good idea either. However, this and the above also escaped your notice. I wonder why.
I have nothing more to add Dan.

I believe the context is important here - I cannot speak for other users but your post in that thread was seemingly received negatively by multiple users, as you were essentially criticising another users opinions and feelings, based on their use case of the apps.
You are welcome to disagree (politely, preferably) with other users, and provide criticisms of the Affinity apps - but you cannot criticise other users directly for their opinions, especially when the opinion is related to their usage of the Affinity apps.
Regardless, the thread above is the real issue in my opinion, and the reason for the resulting temporary restrictions on your account. I simply linked to the secondary thread as a further indicator of content that we don't want to see here on the forums - as your post there was also moderated by the Affinity team due to the abusive content.
I suggest being more mindful of the content within this thread above, rather than focussing on the secondary thread. My apologies if including a link to this thread within my post above did not help in explaining the reason behind these restrictions, as I can see how it might not be clear.
My apologies, but I cannot see anyone calling anyone a 'tyrant' in either thread - though perhaps you don't mean this literally.
If any user has an issue with content on the Affinity Forums, we ask that you report the thread to the moderators using the 'Report' tool and we can investigate further, and take action where necessary.
I'm sorry to hear you feel this way - I certainly attempt to apply myself as fairly as possible across the forums, though with hundreds (if not more) of users online at once, posting in multiple languages, it would be remiss to ignore the possibility that any moderation may appear biased.
If you have any issue with our moderation of the Affinity Forums, you can contact our team directly at affinity@serif.com.

Yes. Second. In the first one you linked to, I was called a bully after I made one comment, relevant to the original question, that read as follows:
Hence my harsher reaction afterwards. Yes my fault i should not react that harch.
But calling someone a tyrant after making a comment like that? Isn't this an excessive and irrational reaction?  I leave it without answer. Anybody can judge it by them self.
Don't thank me, because no, I have no understanding of your selective treatment.

I certainly will 'react' to the above.
This is unacceptable behaviour from you as a user, and will not be tolerated here on the Affinity Forums. Personal attacks are not, and will never be allowed here.
This is not the first thread you have been personally involved in that has divulged in this manner, as evidenced here, where moderators had to edit your posts contents.
Please familiarise yourself with the Forum Guidelines before continuing to post on this site. If you continue to derail threads with personal attacks, your forum account will be removed.
I also recommend reading through this post where I have previously outlined that it is not our users job to police who can, or can't post on the forums and who has the 'more valid' opinion. All users are equal, and have the same right to post here as any others.
I do not wish to 'lock' this thread as I believe there are valid conversations occurring between other members, but further posts in the manner of the quoted text above will result in this.
    Thanks for your understanding.

I agree with you. I will say this, there is potential, but it has been squandered for some time by stupid decisions, lots of mistakes and lack of quality improvement.

The number of users on the forum is in no way an indicator of how many people have problems with the program.
Some users don't register on the forum at all even when they face more or less problems with the apps from Serif.
So you can't make assumptions like that.

There have also been a lot of complaints about the performance and stability of versions 1 and 2 from users of high spec computers and up to date graphics drivers, whether they were using msi, msix, exe, so the issue is more about the application itself, the quality of the code behind it , not on the client hardware or driver side.
Many of these users no longer report problems, sometimes even abandoned the forum because the trust and faith that something will change in this matter has evaporated.

I doubt that's the only reason. It seems likely that they have decided that the cheaper iPad apps fit their marketing strategy better than more expensive versions that fewer people would buy.

Whatever - but I think it’s silly if Serif holding back pretty standard functions just because people have weaker iPads…

Given their three decades of experience from developing and marketing the ‘Plus’ applications, I’m quite sure that Serif discovered long ago how much work it is to create and maintain pro-level templates!

Which might be an argument in favor of including a huge number of templates with one or more of the Affinity apps, more or less what the OP (if few others) want  ... but a strong counter-argument to that is it would mean installing the app would use up a great deal more file space than it already does to store all those built-in template files, their thumbnails, etc.
I strongly doubt many users or potential buyers would find that very desirable, particularly when it is so easy to either find suitable templates on the web or build them for themselves.

I agree. For example, today I received a template by email (Free Mystery Box from Frankentoon). So I opened it - um, nice - but I don't know at all what I could use it for 🙂 Exactly as thomaso writes, every situation and need is so different/specific that using something else is not even beneficial, rather the opposite. I consider the examples that are available on the welcome/start page to be much more useful for beginners - from them you can learn much more about the functions and features of the application.

I think the answer is a clear and resounding ‘No’: there’s a large proportion of users, both professional and hobbyist, who never use templates. However, this thread has highlighted the fact that there are potential customers who would be more likely to make a purchase if a diverse collection of templates were included.

But that is not discussed here at all - here the situation is presented that if a 3-star Michelin restaurant does not sell bagged chips - then it is a liquidation for it.
I don't know about you, but I don't go to a 3-star Michelin restaurant for bagged chips.

This may apply to general use of template documents. – Whereas this thread was not created about the possibilities or ways of using templates, but as a thesis about a need for ready-made templates and from marketing aspects, the lack of which supposedly even prevents working with Affinity:
"As a graphic designer" the lack of template documents "has already turned me off further progressing with Affinity applications", added by "Why is this "missing templates" situation being allowed to continue?" (…) "It's an instant sales marketing disaster. I'm a professional marketer."
No templates are required at all for the purpose of viewing possible designs; anyone can get an idea of possible looks and designs by an internet search with the corresponding images in the search results.
So these ready-made templates might be helpful for beginners who don't know what various object types and attributes mean, for instance "Text", "Image", Picture Frame", "Pixel", "Stroke", "Fill" etc. … but they are definitely not required to use or learn the app.

Perhaps it is for you but as has been mentioned, it is not a 'turn off' for a great many other users, nor has it seemed to hurt sales.
Besides, I doubt that very many people would agree about which templates are in some way so basic that creating whichever one(s) they consider basic would take more than a few minutes to create them for themselves.
And of course, there is what some have termed a 'killer' feature of the suite of three apps, that being able to use the same presets, templates included, in any of the three, due to the integrated common native file format.

I'm not sure how many of the millions of users are forced, unwillingly, to use it by their employers; but at least the employers are (presumably) happy with it! Actually, my last employer gave me the choice of Adobe or Affinity software and I chose to use Affinity!

Like others, it is not something I would even look for, with Adobe or Affinity. I could be wrong, but templates are usually geared toward the simpler programs made for simpler applications. Affinity is a powerful suite of apps on level with the standard pro apps like Adobe. When I think of templates I think of sites like Canva. Easy to select a template and alter with little to no design experience.

One does wonder why they would use Affinity if they are not happy with it! – Seems a little perverse to continue to use software that you don't like!
If, like the OP, you feel that the lack of a feature, such as ready made templates, means that Affinity is not suitable for your needs, there are other alternatives. Indeed, if you would rather pay a monthly fee for Adobe, because you get a few free templates, rather than buying Affinity for a, one off, very reasonable price and then purchase templates separately if you want them, that's your choice!

Serif's old PagePlus software came with, literally, hundreds of templates, personally I never used any of them! This was for two reasons. Firstly, that none of them was ever exactly what I wanted and it seemed easier just to start from scratch. Secondly, I didn't want my work to be  like all the other publications that other people produced, using the same templates.
I have no problem with Serif producing templates if there is enough demand for them, but I do feel that they should be sold separately, not included with the software. Someone has to be paid to design templates (just like anything else) and I don't want either to have to pay for something I never use, nor to have resources diverted from developing the actual software.

    REPLY to GarryP,
I've very sure about the difference between presets and templates.
Adobe applications (as do others) come with both, after initial installation. (see attached screenshot of Adobe Photoshop)
From a marketing aspect alone, the lack of even the basic of templates at all in Affinity applications, is an immediate sales turn off.
I'm very disappointed with Affinity in this respect. Someone needs to go back and do their SWOT analysis again, regarding this aspect.
It was the first thing I looked for - and I'm sad to say, this situation exists in Affinity Designer and Photo applications. Very disappointing.
The creators of what looked to be good coded applications, have let themselves badly down in this sales aspect.
I will be sticking with alternative software. I had hoped for the best - but have been left seriously let down by what should have been a basic installed aspect.
