I’m not entirely sure what you want to do.
As far as I know there are no general ways for us to optimise/enhance how the software works; it just does what it does.
You can switch Hardware Acceleration on but that doesn’t use the CPU any differently, it just makes the software use the GPU more.
There may be ways to make certain functions work a bit faster – e.g. using better equations in Procedural Textures – but these would be very specific to those functions and we, as users, have no way of changing how those functionalities work at a base/code level.
As I said above, the code works the way it works and if that code doesn’t use multi-core CPUs as efficiently as possible – for whatever reasons – then there’s not much that we, as users, can do about it.

If this is true I would think your receipt would show what you purchased. You certainly see it before finishing the check out. What does your email receipt say? If it is indeed an error and you can show that you did purchase for the right OS but received the wrong OS key then I would think they would happily rectify it. My guess is that you made the same mistake twice though and did not pay close enough attention to what you were purchasing as it does show you the version you are buying.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, so not really the place to post about one of the Serif Legacy products.  These latter have a dedicated forum here.
However, as you say, MoviePlus is now discontinued and Serif has not replaced it with another movie editing app, so you are going to have to "bite the bullet" and move to a different manufacturer's software.  Inevitably, there will be differences between MVP and whatever you choose to replace it though the "core concepts" are pretty similar.  I moved, several years ago, from MVP to a different video editing app and have no regrets at doing so.
I'm not going to name the manufacturer or the software I now use but, if you go to those Legacy Product forums you will find a number of different manufacturers at least mentioned.  Also, there are still a considerable number of users of MVP who post there; if you have encountered specific problems with using it they may well be able to advise on methods to potentially work around those problems.

Please calm down using bad language will not change the software any faster. If you read my reply again you would see this is not true, and the post is hidden not deleted. It is still visible to us and contains no more useful information than the first time your reported this. It was hidden because there is no point re-reporting in a beta forum anything that affects the release version as well. The same few people read all the posts and it simply wastes everyone's time to read the same thing a number of times. Very few posts are hidden as most people here follow the guidelines (including those on bad language)
Importantly only issues that are specific to the beta version need to be reported in the beta forums. That is how we organise things round here, so normally your beta forum report would have been moved to the bugs forum. However in this case you already had one in the bugs forum covering the same thing, so the duplicate was hidden. If everyone who has reported a problem posted in every beta thread "you still have not fixed my report" then the threads would be impossible to find any new information, so please do not do that

There are not enough of us to deal with duplicate threads. Moderators can see hidden posts, so the samples and screenshots are still visible to staff, but it is essentially just a duplicate of this visible post. I am closing this thread as you have your answer, and I do not want other forum users replying to this, as it is likely to be unproductive.

If you contact affinityreturns@serif.com and explain your error when ordering the software, you may find that they are sympathetic to your situation and will "swap" your purchased software to the correct OS at the same offer price that you recently purchased it for
But it's probably best not to mention the bit about.... "Never seen such a bad customer service before."

We are charged by Amazon (who ship the books) depending on the weight of goods that are sent and each book is nearly 1.6kg with packaging. In some countries like Australia, the shipping charge is 60% of the cost of the book!
We have done our best to alleviate the shipping cost and in all cases we are paying additional costs on top of that which our customers are paying, to help keep the charge as low as feasibly possible.

    EXACTLY!
If the vector-based drawing software segment is ever going to get out of its decades-long lethargy (due primarily to the market dominance of Illustrator), we should be thinking beyond the mediocre status-quo conventional-wisdom.
Serif's Affinity project is a rare opportunity to start doing that, because it actually listens to user input on features not yet implemented in yet another look-same, act-same, "me, too" fashion in order to satisfy often very rudely presented repetitive 'demand' for more of the same old crap.
I don't need more of the same old crap.
A 'knife' tooI' is a case-in-point. These programs still too much assume a need to continue user-interfaces based on metaphors that are outdated for approaching half a century. Forget the lame metaphor of an X-Acto knife. I've been arguing for decades that in a program (a medium) designed primarily for manipulating Bezier curves, one should be able to convert any path to either a cutting path or a selection marquee. Find me a program that does that.
Forget Illustrator. There are many opportunities to get out of the same old ruts that too many think are 'must haves.'

I reckon @JET_Affinity and Bryan Rieger are both spot on here - I believe I've done some of my best "professional" 🥴 work using Affinity - StudioLink really is an innovative solution and is something I now take as for granted as vector distortions and warps, upon trying out and loving the Affinity user experience 6 years ago - still loving it, I just didn't think it would take this long to implement some of the missing basics - I find now when I need to perform an edit that can't yet be done in Affinity, (usually switching to Illustrator or VectorStyler),  I really miss it - so I alway aim to get the deed done as quickly as possible and pasted back in its rightful place in Affinity to complete the job.

Some of you guys need to get off your 'I'm such a professional' high horse, effectively insulting everyone else here you don't even know. A professional can do professional work with a crayon. I'm inclined to doubt the claimed 'professionalism' of anyone who truly thinks a program is 'useless' until it's a veritable clone of the one program with which they're familiar, and has all the time in the world to waste repetitively whining about it.
I've been making my living in digital graphics for 35 years. Can I right now, today, do commercial-quality saleable work for clients in Affinity? Absolutely. Just like I can with Illustrator, Draw, Technical Designer, Canvas, and others, despite their respective weaknesses.
Do I consider Adobe Illustrator 'professional quality'? Compared to what? Regarding which features? I can build a list of sub-par features for any vector drawing program on my computer, including Illustrator. I can also build a list of features which Affinity could—with just a little innovation instead of just ever-more 'me, too' copying of conventional wisdom—easily implement in such a way to surpass Illustrator's functionality.
Since the beginning of the 'desktop revolution' in the mid-80s, one thing I've considered a matter of simple professionalism is to maintain at least working familiarity with as many mainstream vector graphics applications as I can. That's why I didn't become a victim when Adobe foisted its Captive Customer licensing scheme.
Affinity can do things Illustrator can't. For just two examples:
It provides a full-blown feature set for mechanically-correct axonometric drawing. To those who know how to use it (and broaden one's money-making skill set with it), that alone is worth the price of all three Affinity applications put together. Affinity's value fields understand a math expression containing more than one operator. (What a concept for one-fifth of the way into the 21st century, 'professional' Illustrator!) Waiting until any given program does everything one wants it to, in precisely the way the single program with which one is proficient does it, is a good way to find oneself behind one's competitors and mission-critically dependent upon a single vendor.
Use the programs you buy for what the can do. If you truly "can't do anything with a program until you get your wish", then why are you wasting your time and breath if you consider the program so 'hopelessly 'unprofessional.' Don't buy them. Don't use them. Get on with your erudite, single-track, blinders-wearing, awe-inspiring career.

From what I saw (with Affinity, not the legacy programs): Serif used to provide more information (e.g., a roadmap) for the Affinity programs, but it caused problems within the user community and with the community interaction with Serif. So they no longer provide info on their plans.
Perhaps in the old days the users showed more respect and friendliness toward Serif? Many users here seem to get angry if Serif doesn't provide exactly the functions they want to see in the timeframe they want to see them, or if they see Serif developing other functions instead of the ones they wanted.

    Welcome to the Affinity forums.
Although I am running the purchased versions of all the Affinity apps and not the Trial versions, all are successfully installed on my D:\ drive so there is no absolute requirement in them to always use C:\.
So, perhaps there is some limitation deliberately built into the trial versions to force the install to C:\?  However, I would be very surprised if that were the case.

    @Roney Cherukara
    Welcome to the Affinity forums.
Serif/Affinity products are licensed separately for each operating system, Windows, MAC or iPad (iOS).  Once the OS-appropriate license has been purchased the user can install the software on as many computers running that OS as he owns and controls, although only the original purchaser is allowed to use the apps for commercial purposes.  It is not possible to transfer any licence between operating systems, e.g. if you already have a Windows licence and wish to also use any of the apps on an iPad or MAC, you need to buy a separate licence for the iPad or MAC.
Serial keys are used and needed only if you buy the apps direct from Serif, where they can then be found listed in your Affinity Account.  Purchases from any of the App Stores do not have a serial key because the app is permanently tied to your store account and account ID.
To redownload the software to your original computer or to be able to install it on a new computer, simply log into wherever you purchased it, using your original purchase email or Store ID, and download it.

I specifically searched for such a thread of appreciation, so that I can second that commendation and not clutter the forum with multiple such posts.
I just read the "Feedback for Affinity Publisher on Desktop" forum and while it is understandable that there are a lot of impatient voices (including mine), I think that 99 % of the folks there are very happy with your overall work and the path where it is going and really wish the best for Serif and your Affinity suite. No one wants to cause undue pressure at all which would only cause negative stress and thus be like throwing a spanner in the works. We are just like children wanting that candy that we see (or invision) behind the store window. Of course, it is logical that you cannot do everything at once. You guys are doing a great job! Please, be patient with our impatience and don't let it get you down. ;-) Keep up the good fight/work at your own pace. Thank you for this fine software suite and your work of staying in contact with us through the forums!!

This is really not an acceptable solution, is it?
I just bought a Mac which is in addition to my PC.  Without exception, ALL of the other software I use that has a licence transferred without a problem and I can use it on both.  This includes Davinci Resolve, Aurora HDR, Luminar 4,  PTGui and a host of others.  This is quite literally the only one that doesn't allow that which I have come across so far.
I moved away from Adobe because I liked their software but hated their business practices.  This is one of those moments.  I've recommended your software to many people in the past, but will not do so anymore until this changes.

    Let's consider that:
Davinci Resolve is $295 Aurora HDR is $99 for up to 5 computers Luminar 4 is $69 for 1 computer (or available in a 2 computer bundle with Aurora HDR for $149) PTGui is $153 or $309 for up to 3 computers And each Affinity application is $49.99 (or right now, with the sale $34.99) for an unlimited number of computers running one OS family (Windows, or MacOS).
So, even buying 2 licenses for an Affinity application, one for Windows and one for MacOS, it's normally $100 total (or right now $75). Those 2 licenses are less expensive than 1 license for Davinci Resolve, or PTGui, or the Luminar 4/Aurora HDR bundle, and they cover use on more computers than any of those other products.
