    The screenshot of your computer spec includes details which should not, I think, be displayed in a public forum, specifically the two IDs, which are unique to you and your computer.  Please consider hiding those lines or, since you have already received the correct answer from @walt.farrell, perhaps remove the image completely.

    I think the problem is less of one of underestimating demand, rather it is one of the side effects of the virus pandemic, which is adding to the workload of the delivery companies/couriers.  Serif use Amazon Logistics and, by all reports, it is handling far more deliveries than would normally be the case because so many people are ordering products on-line, rather than risk visiting the shops.  Then, when you add in the inevitable staff absences through sickness amongst those delivery drivers and their support staff.....
    In my case, also in the UK, from placing the order to actually receiving the book - and I live less than 50 miles from Serif Head Office - was exactly four weeks.

    People who purchase a licence for one of the existing platforms (Mac, Windows, or iPad) have to make a new purchase if they switch to a different platform, so why should we expect the licence for a Linux version not to work the same way?

    Would that also include the price?
    I believe Photoshop is currently £238 per year
    I paid £29.99 for APhoto just over 4 years ago and not a penny since then.
    If everyone had initially paid £238 per year, I'm sure Serif could have hired a lot more programmers and produced a Photoshop clone but it was never their intention to create a replica of Photoshop.
    If you want something to work 100% like Photoshop then your only real option, at the moment, is to buy rent Photoshop.
     
    Then pay the £238 per year and use Photoshop
    What's the problem?

    This is going to be a bit of a rant, and I'm sorry, I'm trying to be polite about it.
    Make it more like Photoshop. Like it or not, you're competing with PS and I and just about every artist is going to have to import and export PS files if working with others. Every time I hit something that doesn't come in 100% like Photoshop, like layers not working like PS or whatever, it makes me annoyed, and pushes me to abandon Photo just a little bit. An artist trying Photo for the first time is going to try bringing in their PSDs to see how compatible Photo is and they're not going to bother trying to fix layers not working because they work slightly differently in Photo, they're just not going to buy it. I don't have the time or the energy to keep trying to fix things, if I find a problem I report it, but "That's how it is designed to work" is not a good come back when I'm spending an hour trying to figure out why something basic isn't working as I expect.
    The really annoying thing is Photoplus used to handle PSDs/Layers almost exactly like PS, and that's what I loved about it, so to see Photo go backwards in that regard is very disappointing. I used to recommend Photoplus to just about everyone I talked graphics to, but I don't feel I can do that with Photo just because I know they'd try it and inevitably hit the same caveats I'm hitting. I know they're trying to do something better, but we're in a reality where Photoshop is the dominant package, and I need to be able to work seamlessly with others.

    I am locking this thread as it breaks rule 1 of the Affinity Forum Guidelines which you agree to when posting here.
    I'm certainly very sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Affinity software @Mark McGilvray however this does not allow you to conduct yourself in this manner here.
    I have personally already responded to your original thread regarding this issue, where Affinity is crashing for you. I'm not certain why this crashing would lead you to believe that Affinity is 'junkware', but you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
    If you wish to continue being supported on these forums, please adhere to the Guidelines and respect both our Staff and community members alike. We will not tolerate further posts like this.
    As Alfred has mentioned above, you are welcome to request a refund for this product from ourselves - provided it was purchased less than 14 days ago & directly from the Affinity Store.

    I can confirm that our Customer Service have replied to your emails but they keep getting bounced back with the following message:
    I can also confirm that your order has been cancelled and refunded. I would suggest that you speak with your email provider to see why you're not getting our emails.

    That has been my experience as well. They won't respond to my question about where to download brushes that were paid for a month ago. It's sad there's no support for such potentially great software.

    I have found Affinity support to be non-existent with no way to contact them. I have been trying to get a refund due to my dissatisfaction with Affinity, but never get a response. If you haven't downloaded it, don't bother. If you're looking for support, don't count on it

    Hi Kanihoncho,
    The entire Affinity suite is currently only on version 1 with regards to Designer we released 3 betas in the past 30 days the latest being yesterday. I'm sorry that progress is not as quick as you would like, our developers wont add something unless they are 100% satisfied with the results. Ultimately we aren't making carbon copies of other apps so if you find yourself holding out on us adding certain features you can find elsewhere perhaps it is better to try those other applications.
