    Agreed. That's the kind of thing I'd be inclined to post (or email) and then regret it the next day. Rather than just stating that you experienced these problems creating a very large book using Publisher, you are advising people to stay away from all Affinity products unconditionally. 
    If the book relates to desktop publishing or graphics, then it seems fair game to point out the deficiencies you experienced and mention the software by name, assuming your experience and information is accurate (as @walt.farrell questioned). But if the book is about another topic, it seems less appropriate.

    I am going to add a warning like this to my books (they are very large and don't allow to change manually the page references).
    Never buy Affinity products
    I used Affinity Publisher to create this book. Besides weeks lost for continuous crashes, after two major versions I am not still able to add page references or hyperlinks as any desktop publishing software allows.
    I apologize for the trouble it will bring you, it was my fault having not checked when I started using.
    Do you think that I am wrong? It is not ironic, it's a real question, I don't want to write it if I am wrong.

    Another customer request drowned by one-sided input.
    Sometimes dragging is just the most intuitive method. On a tablet even more so. In accessibility cases required. It should be supported by software made in recent years or months.
    Requiring copy paste is stepping 30+ years back in time - which is very modern in Nottingham from time to time - dragging content instead of simulating DOS workflows was introduced some 25+ years ago as an alternative. But here we are with rubbish like "this is fastest" - not always the case - and not always the customer preference.
    Oh look!  Cry emojis. 😄

    It’s only a 'bug' if the software is not performing as it has been designed to perform.
    Since we don’t yet know if the software should be able to do what you want it to do we can’t know if it’s a user error, a set-up problem, a bug, something that the software hasn’t been designed to do, or something else.
    I think we should find out what the issue is before assigning it a ‘type’.
    If it’s determined to be a bug then a moderator can easily move this back to one of the Bugs sections of the forum.

    You guys have already started going in the same direction as Adobe after just v2...
    Yes you're not subscription based (yet) but come on guys, why do I have to create an account on Serif just to ACTIVATE the purchase I just made in the AppStore? and if I click not yet, you'll just keep asking for it on every launch like I'm an unpaid trial user...
    You have removed the direct purchase for each app by introducing your package bundle, instead of creating a different bundle on AppStore and continuing to sell each app as stand alone now the purchase is in-app purchase...
    Stop this madness please, let us use our "already paid for" AppStore version without nagging about activation or registering on Serif:
    Stop requiring us to register on Serif to use the software we paid for Sell each app as stand alone and not in-app purchase, if you want to sell a bundle too, you can already create a bundle of multiple Apps in AppStore (I've seen many do it) Even enable offline registration for apps bought directly from you, stop the online registration madness!

    I tried repaying for the Universal License and although I had already purchased it Apple hallowed me to purchase it twice now I have to get this cancelled so all rather annoying so purchasing the universal license through the App store seems to be pretty pointless. Come on Serif get your act together don’t offer something that does not work. I been using your software for years without an issue licenses or otherwise so how have so badly messed this up?

    Thank you, Guys for your answers. I can see clearly that Serif policies are odd, as they completely ignore some customers and their needs and care only for their business. Unacceptable to me. This time they decided not to support customers who use windows 7. They completely ignore Android (which is the most popular OS in the world (more popular than Windows, generally). They do not support Linux, others companies do. What will they decide tomorrow? Subscriptions? Who knows? But I am afraid, they will dissatisfy us more than once...Therefore I cannot count on them. I will choose GIMP+KRITA+INKSCAPE+SCRIBUS+DARKTABLE+NATRON+RAWTHERAPEE to have peace of mind. Supporting these projects will be well money spent that won't turn against me. I will occasionally buy some other apps that support Linux (or at least work on WINE or Cross Over Linux)

    It seems that the most likely reason for the extension was to help people who are waiting for the msi version of the installer to still be able to benefit from the trial period and discount. It's also possible it was to give people with payment problems more time to sort them out. Either way, I'm pretty sure it was just a one-off and I doubt if there'll be any further extensions.

    First, sorry for my bad english.
    I really don't understand why there are so many threads to complain that V1 users don't have an additionnal discount compared to new customers.
    A single topic was enought, no need to open them again and again to say the same thing.
    It seems that some people "support" a product ou people just to get something back.
    I didn't really need the V2 version, the V1 is good enough for me, but i bought it anyway, mainly to support the developpers i just hope as a return that they continue to provide us with a good product, and continue their developpment.
    I really don't care about paying the same discount price as the new customers. If the price is right that the most important thing.
    In fact,  I'm more concerned by the extension of the duration of the discount price because the longer the discount price is offered, the less value it has.
     I'm hopping that SERIF doesn't go to the way of VEGAS or COREL where the "regular" price is just a mirage, and the real price is actually the discount price.

    All my Affinity data files (all three apps, both versions) are saved to an external USB drive.  That drive is never allowed to go to sleep whilst the computer is on and I've never yet experienced any problem with file saving or files being corrupted.

    No one is forced to buy version 2. If you are happy with the features of version 1, then keep working with it.
    You guys whining that you can't get a better deal than a new customer should keep in mind that all previous update and the small upgrades that were available for V1 over the years were free. 
    And now I ask, who has the greater advantage here? I'm also wondering if you guys who are whining about this had a kiddie circus like this with Adobe or Corel when they didn't have the subscription model?

    I was really pleased to get a 40% discount when upgrading Affinity to v2. Then I was so disappointed to discover that other people were getting the same discount! It's so unfair that everyone else doesn't have to pay more than I do. Come on Serif, anyone who hasn't been loyally buying your software for at least twenty years (like I have) should have to pay more than me!

    @monzo  I would definitely suggest that you purchase the Universal App from the Affinity website.   My Photo2, Designer2, and Publisher2 are all performing without a hitch or a glitch.  They came from the Affinity website.  And if you do decide to purchase, be sure to keep your V1 on your Mac until you have installed V2.  That way you can choose the option to Migrate Content from V1.

    Thank you very much for this emmrecs01! It was Photo v 2.0, so the fix under the window tab/studio has resolved the issue.

    I've been amazed (flabbergasted, really) at the number of users who have not tried the free Trial, but have just jumped on board to give Serif more money.
