Attached my purchased record of `Affinity Designer`.
Looks like I have to declare for the third time: From the Apple store I can't find the already purchased `Affinity Designer` and `Affinity Photo`!
I am an Apple Developer for many years, and I devoted myself in IT industry for 26 years and use macOS 8 years, I know why such a problem occured (you may ask a senior Xcode developer), but because of your company's face, I will not speak publicly in the forum.
Additional, there exist many anger rates on China App Store, the reason is THE GREAT WALL ban them access this forum and submit their question. Sincerely I suggest you company should send email to these V1 users, and the copy of V1.
    Thanks!

As I have mentioned, I have try several times but failed to reinstall the V1 Affinity Designer & V1 Affinity Photo.
After I questioned Apple Customers Services, that replied me that there only kept the recorded of my purchased V1 Affinity Designer & Affinity Photo, but they cannot found anything about the V1 Affinity Software existed in AppStore, they told me that you SERIF may removed the V1 throughout so Apple AppStore cannot control this action.
So, this is the reason why I post here, and why there is many anger, abuse, and accusations posts on the V2 App Store.

Yes, it is strange and yes, there must be something in the request for payment that goes to the card provider that triggers some sort of check for approval of a recurring payment and when that approval is NOT present, the transaction is declined.
Meanwhile, I am pleased to report that @Patrick Connor went way, way, beyond his job description and although he couldn't fix the failed transaction, he has waved a magic wand and I do now have an activated copy of Photo 2.

The reason they suggest another browser is you may have a plugin/extension that may be blocking the process or there may be a configuration that is causing an issue, they are not saying they cannot handle Firefox they are just trying to help you figure out why you cannot process a payment. You can quite easily install a vanilla alternative browser go through the purchase and uninstall it later.
Really!!  that's ugly behaviour dude, remember there are two parties at play here, You and Affinity, they have no access to your system, or knowledge of how you have set it up, for the majority of people their payment system works, the only variable is you. Who loses out on this transaction... Affinity because you go off and tell people about your bad experience; and I think some of that is self-made, and you, because you don't get Affinity.
I agree with not buying from Micrapsoft store though

    Welcome to the forums @GrandToDo
If someone were to write such a user guide, how would they know – in advance – to write it in a way that addresses your specific current needs?
Everyone has their own specific needs and those needs change depending on what they are trying to do at the time.
It might be better if you start a new thread, telling us what your current problem/issue is, giving as much detail as you can, and then we can advise on that specific thing.
Then, when you later have a different specific problem/issue, you can start a new thread for that, and so on.
Note: Most of the issues/problems mentioned in the forums are not new ones so it’s best to search with good keywords first before making new threads.

    **Synopsis**
It is serious I am here to ask the product `Affinity Designer` and `Affinity Photo` which I have brought years ago. Unfortunately you have removed them from the AppStore recently.
As I have paid for the software, I have the right to get them.
I am not sure this post will get any consequent that you can provide the copy of the previous version software. But I still want to kindly remind you that the your decision to remove the last version from the Apple Store is obviously the most user-unfriendly choice.
    **Bad Rating**
I am not sure the rate of your new version `Affinity Designer 2` and `Affinity Photo 2` on App Store except China and Singapore.
I can only know the App Store ratings in China are full of anger, abuse, and accusations, and a considerable number of users declare that they will never use your company's products again.
Honestly I have download the new version and rate them when I found the last classic version removed from the App Store, you can guess what I rated them just like someone lost money, or robbed.
Anyway, I know your product is priced very low, and I I bought it on promotion. Thats brought me great experience when I get it, and enjoying when I study on you website, and liked to introduced them to my friends. But all of these stop when I found it removed from App Store.
    **Apple's Reply**
I noticed there was a record mentioned users can download the previous version from the purchase history. But I cannot found them.
Patiently I asked Apple's professional Genius bar and on-call specialist, but them can only found the records but nothing of the last version information. They told me it looked abnormal, a bit of a rogue, but nothing could be done about it.
    **Market Analysis**
It's clear that you want to increase sales by implementing a new product pricing strategy.
Compared with buyout products, the revenue of subscription products is dozens or even hundreds of times that of the former. Smart market decision makers will of course choose the subscription mode.
Adobo PhotoShop Cloud is proven of making lots of money. But please do not forget it is precisely Adobe's charging model that makes users choose your products.
Good product never force customers to install a bunch of add-ons like Adobe does, and they always works good with a clear pricing model.
    **Strength**
The last version `Affinity Designer` and `Affinity Photo` got very good reputation.
The last version `Affinity Designer` and `Affinity Photo` Outstanding performance, no add-on (especial to Adobe).
    **Weakness**
You decided to remove all of the excellent user rates.
You launch a new version, hoping to acquire users and higher income from scratch.
    This decision is irreversible.
    **Opportunity**
There is no absolute thing for businessmen, crisis always contains business opportunity.
For example, I never receive the notification that you will remove the last excellent version software and launch a new one. If you want to stop the malicious bad rates from users, why not email to them download the last version and save your reputation?
Honestly, the Apple Store's Pricing Strategy Is Not Perfect.
If you are a veteran of the Internet industry, you may hear about `Turbo Pascal` and the product sales policy pushed by the founder Philipper Kahn. You can read it from book 'Borland Legend' wrote by Li Wei.
You may have more awareness of how products are priced.
Additional, App Store doesn't support discounts for old users when the new version release. However, isn't this what the head of the marketing department should take the initiative to do? Take the initiative to find the person in charge of Apple's App Store and discuss related business. I think Apple should get similar complaints from many users, and they should improve their services level when big software vendor want to release product on App Store. For example, there are few professional software release on App Store, such as AutoCAD, Beyond Compare4, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, Matlab and any Enterprise MRP-ERP and Business Intelligence software.
`Affinity Designer` and `Affinity Photo` are right in between consumer software and professional software. Why NOT TRY? May be Apple App Store is waiting and selecting some appropriate software developer.
    **Threats**
Act as an amateur Apple Developer, I know there are many IT giants are shrinking their manpower and the download of `Affinity` will decrease. If you lose reputation, you will lost users, and you will face a more dangerous market environment.

    **My Advice**
All web products may collect users' usage data of their own products.
Why not negotiate a new sales model with Apple App Store?
You can develop different sales strategies for occasional users and frequent users.
    Wish you good luck.

Maybe, but it doesn't inspire loyalty. After all the problems caused by not including an MSI installer (to their credit they did U turn eventually) but they also said that discount was because they couldn't offer upgrade pricing. Fair enough, but then they finally release the MSIs at the same time the discount was removed.
Now they are offering an upgrade price but it's higher than the discount price they were offering ... which they insisted was in place of upgrade pricing. I'm not too bothered as I'm in no hurry, but since the introduction of Affinity I feel like Serif have abandoned any loyalty they might have had for their older, long time customers.

In the most general case that couldn't happen. They are completely unrelated applications, and no good OS security system would let application A uninstall application B or modify it in any way. That's how viruses and malware spread, which the system wants to avoid.

emmrecs01 reacted to GarryP in V2 doesn't uninstall the V1 files!
One example is people who want to use the latest version of the software for their own personal projects but also need to have a document sharing capability with other people who have not, or cannot, or will not, upgrade to V2 (for whatever reason).
For instance, maybe they collaborate on a community newsletter which is passed around a group in Publisher V1 format but they also want to be able to access the new V2 functionality for their own professional work.
In this case, and probably many others, the automatic removal of the V1 software, would be a bad thing.
Even if they could re-install the V1 software their settings/assets/styles/brushes/etc. would have been reset/removed.
Not automatically removing the V1 software gives the user control over their software, rather than Serif forcing its own rules upon everyone.

OK so I did as that page says:
Except, there are no saved card details that I can find in my account details.  I won't buy from the MS Store either and when I phoned Serif at 09:57 UK time and pressed one for sales I was cut off because, "Unfortunately our offices are closed".  Nor will I try another browser, if Serif's system can't cope with Firefox that's a pretty poor affair so I guess I'll pass on Photo 2.
Thank you and good night, have a safe journey!

You really believe that? We don't know what Serif has been working on, that is yet to be released in this version. Features that were not present in V1, are just the starting point for those. They know there's a lot of work to be done on them. There's more features to come, they just need to make sure or try anyway, those new features and other bugs have been addressed.
The MSIX installer, threw a big monkey-wrench in their timeline, having to drop back and work up an MSI installer.

For me, the V2 is definitely better, so far no crashes, no biting. However, I personally think that problems of this type are very dependent on the local configuration of the PC and its OS, so the every user has a different experience.
Anyway, I know that unlike V1, bugs in V2 have a chance to be solved, fixed and new/requested features can be added.

1/23/23 I attempted to purchase the Version 2 upgrades of AD & AP (I had purchased the Versions of 1.9.3 a 1yr +7mos prior) but I  also had issues using Discover.
I likewise am from the USA & regardless that Discover IS indeed an option, it never went through.
I received multiple messages in a Red Box (*see attached) stating "We're sorry but something went wrong while placing your order. If you continue to see this message, please contact support operatives who will be able to assist you further." (<--Ah, Lol, funny!)
I did contact Customer Support Operatives. A reply took nearly 2 weeks, before finally hearing from an "ANDY". Who was (& I'm being quite polite here) less than 'HELPFUL' especially for a CUSTOMER SUPPORT OPERATIVE!! In short, I informed him that I HAD checked for MBPro UPDATES! Checked for UPDATES on Safari, Chrome, Firefox! Logged Out, Shut Down & Rebooted my MBPro! Knowing there never was any issue with my Discover card or my credit etc. Then confirmed with Discover; the issue was not on my end.
Andy, being oh-so-helpful merely blamed it on my Discover Card, regardless. Then I went on to use that very Discover Card later that day. Again the issue was never my card. I attempted this purchase on multiple days, times & browsers. Finally, I came to realize Serif/Affinity simply does not want to- will not accept Discover. Perhaps they do via a Pay-Pal / Discover transaction purchase, but not directly from Discover, not from where I am in the USA. C'est La Vie!
Oh and Andy... DO BETTER, the Affinity Customers deserve that, I CERTAINLY did!

emmrecs01 reacted to Ron P. in Issue when I'm exporting: The photo get overexposed
    Hi Swingnsaxman,
Do you have a question, wanting help with over-exposure, exporting, or just making a statement?
Could it be, you actually over-exposed your image? You certainly know that doing so, the data is gone, no way to recover it. Also I think you really mean by your statement about "can't spend hours beating my head against the wall", you can't be bothered learning another software. You spent time learning Photoshop, a lot of time. PS is not an easy piece of software to learn, very complex.
I agree that there shouldn't be an issue with exporting. Are you using version 1 or 2 of Affinity Photo? You do know the Develop Persona is now non-destructive, so long as when you develop, you have the Output set to either Raw Embedded or Raw Linked. You can take the image right back into the Develop Persona and make changes. They're not baked in until you choose to rasterize the image. Can be really helpful when the exposure needs tweaking.
Yes there are problems still with Affinity apps. Serif is working on correcting the bugs. If they had 1/3rd the staff of Adobe, they would have them corrected by now. Since they don't, it takes a lot more time. Granted, some of the bugs have been around for way too long.
Photoshop, Affinity, On1, Lightroom, ect, are just tools. Use the one(s) that will get the job done for you. You ever work on cars? If the wrench you pick up does not loosen or tighten the bolt, might be the wrong size, do you just keep trying to make it work or grab another that will?

emmrecs01 reacted to Bardo in Upgrading from V1 to V2
I understand that people who are V1 users, like me, are upset about that they didn't receive a bigger discount, and here are my thoughts on it.
First, most customers want to be rewarded with loyalty, and getting 40% off seemed like a great deal that made everyone happy until people realized that that's the same discount offered to those who've never used/supported an Affinity product before. So in the end, it's not the deal/final price, but the comparison or "not being treated special" that people are upset about. This is somewhat bad optics by Affinity, especially if they presented the discount as a "current users get 40% off" kind of deal that seemed exclusive. Not sure whether or not they did this at launch though.
Secondly, I wonder how much of a deal would have make the V1 users who are complaining feel good. 50% for V1 users, while everyone else got 40%? Perhaps 40% off while everyone else got 30% off? In the end you're talking about a difference of $6 or $7 dollars, people. Is this really worth getting all up in arms about?
Lastly, at $40 these programs are still an amazing value. Affinity software is part of my daily workflow so to pay another $40 to a company that has created a nearly flawless piece of software whose closest competitor costs multiple times this per year seems like a no brainer to me. If I use it for even a year it's paid for itself many times over. We should be thanking Affinity for working on the upgrades and keeping it affordable for us, not complaining because we don't feel "special".
Honestly, let's just all be grateful to have a V2 option that's still so affordable and move on with our lives.

Yes, the install of all the Version 2 apps was to their default (WindowsApps) locations.

@BofG Thats bad. Cuz you want 375x500 px image in web, so you want to export image in that dimensions.
If i good understand you want me to set 100% view, so i will see that i need to make bigger image for example 500x700 do make it sharp and export it in 500x700 px, so the sharpness will be good.
It works but if you making SEO and want to let ur site be speed , you need to know that its crap. When you upload that image in website you still gona show 375x500 px image (scaled with CSS, but still loading bigger one 500x700). So for Google thats crap and Page SPeed insights from Google and generaly page speed will hurt cuz of that.
Thats so stupid XDD . That SOFT FOR WEB graphic do not let you export image XD in dimensions which you need... I think a only way is to go back to photoshop
