@SavageJohn Did you read @Alfred's post directly above yours? It includes a link to the only possible source of information for you, sorry!

Hi Walt, No, all those "support" files are still on C:\. I decided very early on with my use of Affinity products (version 1) that I didn't feel at all confident about trying to move those files and folders. But for a number of years now I have always installed the main Program Files for almost every app I have on D:\. The only ones not installed there are those which do NOT allow the user to choose the install location. For me, the number of these is very small.

@Paul Mudditt Thanks for that screenshot and yes, that's exactly what I see. @Alfred I'm also running iPadOS 17.4 so perhaps this is a change in that version. -
Affinity Photo v1 no longer available in App Store
emmrecs01 replied to Chriz's topic in Affinity on iPad Questions
@David Colman Out of curiosity (and a desire to try and be helpful) I decided to check the situation on my iPad. I accessed my account in the App Store, went to Purchase history and it defaulted to showing the "Last 90 days" as a link. Clicking that link led to a screen Date Range. I selected Custom and could then choose a year (in my case 2021, which was the year I first bought an iPad). The first option under 2021 was "All year". I chose that and then clicked Apply on the next screen, scrolled through the list and found Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo, both version 1, clearly. Does that help you? -

Affinity Photo 2.4 crashes

No problem here either and I'm running Windows (10) with an i7 6700K CPU! Here's a screenshot of your RW2 open in my Edit screen, so post the RAW Develop screen. -
Vector brushes crashing program

Why not simply "bump" your original thread? Especially since it includes those crash reports. You could also tag @DWright to be sure he is aware of and has actually seen those reports.- 4 replies

@SFurniss Actually, I don't think you did! 😉 -
Installation directory
emmrecs01 replied to Thomas Herren's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I am not sure you can do this! By design, the MSIX installer places the actual program files in the WindowsApps folder on C:\ This location is "sandboxed" and so not accessible to the user without making specific changes to User Permissions. So, did you do this? I have the great majority of my programs on D:\, including all the Affinity version 1 and 2 apps. But, as @walt.farrell wrote, some data for all of them is installed on C:\ by default and the advice is that users should NOT attempt to move it! Are you running Win 11? You mention "Apps and Features" which is not part of Win 10, which I have, but I assume it is the equivalent of "Programs and Features" (in Win 10). Perhaps Win 11 deals with program installation locations differently to Win 10? -
I'm a new potential buyer

@lightbox617 Welcome to the Affinity forums. Please be aware that I am NOT a Serif employee but my understanding of the answers to your questions is as follows: 1. and 2. If you buy the Universal Licence it allows you to run all three apps under any combination of Windows, MAC and iPad operating systems and on as many machines as you own and control. And it's currently on a Black Friday offer! 3. I assume by mention of Adobe Bridge you are referring to a Digital Asset Management program. At the moment Serif do not offer such, unfortunately. HTH PS. Beaten by @SFurniss I see! -
@bbrother Serif/Affinity staff have made a point of never revealing details of their long-term plans for the future development of any of their apps until they feel ready to do so because the "new feature/updated feature" is ready for release. However, in terms of "free updates" I think we users can take considerable comfort from the fact that version 1 "lasted" for more than 5 or 6 years (at least) and all updates were always free.

Interesting! Slightly OT but I have experienced exactly this problem, but with the standalone Topaz Video AI. Several updates to the previous version (3) failed to install properly for me and Topaz Labs support could offer no reason why; downloading and running the full installer of the updated app resolved the problem. I'm currently running the new version 4 and see that 2 updates are available. I wonder whether they will install properly?? Watch this space! Seriously, I wonder whether the fact of @jordaan's experience, along with mine, suggest there may be a problem with the Topaz updaters? Did they install properly? No, so now to download the full installer of the latest version.

HEIF files

@Malcolm Tinn I have just tried exactly what @R C-R suggests and your file opens for me in APh 2 without a problem. -
@sdan Welcome to the Affinity forums. I notice you mention the M$ Store, so what I write below may NOT be applicable to you, sorry. But... IMO, by far the "easiest" method of achieving what you quite reasonably want to do is to NOT use the .MSIX installers but rather the alternative .EXE installers! Both are available from within your Affinity account. You will need to uninstall the MSIX versions, perhaps taking care to save and back up any customisations, assets etc., that you currently have and then install the .EXE versions. Then you will have full access to the program files and not be hindered by Windows sandboxing. However, I'm not sure whether the M$ Store version actually allows you to have an "Affinity account", from which the .EXE installers can be downloaded. If you do not have such an account I can recommend an app which allows the user to access the Windows Sandbox and its contents, TakeOwnershipEX. Always use an app like this with caution but I have used it to successfully change access permissions for otherwise-locked programs, including some in the WindowsApps folder! And these changes are reversible! HTH Jeff

Photo raw files not opening

@eddietheone I downloaded your file, opened it in APh 2, version 2.1.1 and this is what I saw in the Develop Persona: So, this seems to be a problem specific to your computer, sorry! Jeff
