  1. Thanks for your input guys! :) I guess i will just exclude bigger projects such as displays and big banners n such and make seperate files for them and keep using one file for each web and print per client and see where it takes me. ;) Further feedback still appreciated though. Especially from the devs, if they maybe have a recommendation in this?!
  2. As the title says: I started with the idea to set up just one file for print and one for web for each of my clients. So that would mean i have all the different projects as artboards within one .afdesign file. Now i'm not so sure if this is intended, or handled well by AD? I guess i would need a quick feedback from a dev, if i should split them back up or if AD can easily handle files with up to 30, 40 or more artboards? I thought this way i could make better use of the document restricted symbols (you know, cause you can use symbols only within the same documents). In the meantime we got assets though and i'm wondering if i should use assets instead. This will mean it's - as far as i know - not auto-updating on all instances like symbols, but you don't have them bound to single documents. Or am i missing the point completely here? :D
  3. hey MEB, i was trying the brush, i think some other tools too, but not sure anymore.
  4. hey guys. So i noticed right after, that when i specifically click the black in the swatches it then works. So it seems there indeed is something off with the colors. I also have noticed general problems with the whole color wheel/thingy. Even back when i started to use AD i noticed that color values that are actually defined in cmyk get totally bonkers when you click the hex/rgb field, which you only seem to notice if you look at the values again, or export it, but the color on the shapes themselves look still fine. Hard to explain but i'm also not sure how it is atm, since i havent specifically tried it ever since.
  5. So, i'm not sure if i'm just doing it wrong or if AD is having a bug there, but when i take over a image from Photo with a mask that behaves exactly like in PS - i.e. take a brush and paint white/black to add/subtract, but as soon as i try that in AD - even the pixel persona - it wont let me add anymore. Regardless if i paint black or white, i always subtract. Am i doing it wrong or discovered a bug indeed?
  6. Hmn, yea i know theres a huge difference in the interpolation methods, but i was directly comparing the bilinears just for testing. Lanczos seems better on first glance, but with PS method on auto it still has slightly more contrast/sharpness. Well i guess its just how it is. Can't expect the newcomer to beat the long time "champion" in every aspect now can you. ;)
  7. Hello all, in direct comparison i noticed, that images that are resized in PS are looking way better especially in terms of sharpness than in AP or AD. Can anybody confirm this, or am i just doing somethin wrong here? i know this has to do with interpolation but i used "bilinear" for both to make it fair. Regards Tim
  8. Now, it might very well just be me not realizing something crucial about this, but ever since the last two beta versions it seems like my "export selected" button simply doesn't work anymore. I even tried deleting all slices and creating all new, but the button doesn't change, no matter how many i have ticked. It also seems to be on more than one file i work on. Cheers Tim Edit: Also continuous is greyed out too. Dunno if that helps Edit2: Not sure now anymore: Seems like it now all of a sudden works again. Not sure why though *shrug*
  9. So i have noticed some odd behavior with the beta. When using text frames it now seems to add the "space after" per default to every line. So even if you had like 0pt line-height the text doesn't sit on the same line. In addition, if you try to use text styles and you change the line-height - for some reason it won't be applied to the text. So it reacts to the space before and after thing, but not to the line-height changes. I suppose this is a bug, but if not, teach me what i don't understand about this! :)
  10. "Don't forget to backup your files before opening with 1.5" yeeeaaahh... about that.... What do you do if you may or may not have forgotten to do that? :>
  11. Hey guys, i used the search but surprisingly couldn't find anything like that on the requests, so here it is: It would help a shitton to be able to have the frames of text snap to the content - via shortcut at best. That way you have the ability to be more precise with placing text frames and way faster. Thats all folks Tim Edit: Hmn i just now saw a post where this was already discussed - i would love to see this feature for AD as well as for Publisher, so consider implementing it on AD as well maybe? *cute begging look* :D
  12. Yeah i pretty much second that. HKS and such is pretty much Key. I'm guessing you can import them yourself, but i'm currently trying to find out, how that would go. Since i'm here, i will say though, that managing your colors should be vital. I'm talking about ways to more easy set up your standard color swatches. For example: I would like to see a way to easily add CMYK based greyscales from 0% to 100% Key. We have the grey palette, but that is 1) not cmyk and 2) awkward to use, because i dont want to switch palettes all the time. No matter what work i do, i would want to have my greys always there, plus the colors i chose based on customer Corporate Design colors and such. Well i guess its manageable with application and system palettes but it means i have to set up the cmyk greys myself for each of my clients, which is pretty time consuming.
  13. I'm sorry, i totally forgot to reply! Crazy workload atm. Well i meant that the color appeared to be different, but yeah i guess its more like my own fault for not "getting" how the whole swatches thing work yet. Currently i have the problem with the predefined "Greys" Palette giving supposedly Black to White, saying i.e. 100% black on CMYK slider in the swatches panel, but when i add the color to say a shape, the color is no pure cmyk black. Only when i add my own swatch with the cmyk slider it adds the swatch correctly even if i add it to a shape then. But i will open another topic for this matter too, since it is something totally different. I dunno in general it feels like either im too used to AI/PS etc. or the app has still some issues with color management. Not Pro enough in color management to tell tho. ;P Greetings Tim
  14. Hey Guys, i was looking through google and the forums for a decent while now and couldn't find anything that relates to what i experienced: I'm having trouble with the colour picker and swatches. For example i have this business card with a green background. The CMYK reads something like 48 0 92 0, but when i use the picker on the shape it seem way brighter and more saturated and if i say it should add it to the swatches it is shown as LAB and the color is way off. I found that it also has to do with wether i set the doc to be RGB or CMYK based? I dunno its probably me, being used to PS and AI and the way things work there, but it seems to be different in AF no? Also quick sidequestion: I tried the "Add Document Palette" Thing and it just creates an empty palette although i have multiple artboards with vector shapes and illustrations on it. Any idea as to what i'm doing wrong here? Thanks for your help in advance! Cheers Tim
