buschbrand reacted to StainX in [Publisher] Replace Color?
    Hi!
So i have this 20 page broschure, where there is a 96/0/84/0 color defined. That color is in logos (vectorgroup), backgrounds, text, etc.. but its not a global color.
Is there an simple way to change that color to lets say 100/0/100/0 without selecting each single vector with that fill and change that manually?
    Greetings!

Created these two last week as part of a current project I'm working on. It's done fully on Affinity Designer with a mixed workflow of vectors and bitmaps.

Finally finished the second Camouflage Vector Drawing.
Completed in Affinity Designer 1.7 with a little help from the 1.8 Beta.
Continued with same theme as Camouflage I but with a completely new set of vector objects.

That's a big miss for me - I often design exhibition panels where I need to put maybe 7 or 8 panels side by side; I need to save the whole thing as a spread for client to visualise it, but then save pdfs as separate panels to send to print. Indesign currently copes fine with this. I realise I can use Designer for that with Artboards, but the image placement controls, Resource Manager and text controls already make Publisher a more attractive prospect for this sort of work - but not if limited to 2-page spreads.

One of the most beautiful car designs of modern times. 100% vector drawing. Work in progress. Used lots of custom gradients and transparencies. Also Gaussian blurring and 3D effects.

Tracing will come in the future - but it will be a new 'Persona' (one of the main buttons along the top left of the window) so that it can have its own UI and tools. We have a fair few ideas for this - not just the obvious... :)  It's not coming any time soon though, I'm afraid to say...

Affinity Publisher 1.8.0 should shortly introduce a new preflight-panel (which will be released in a free update if the beta testing of the feature goes well).

+1 ... and for all Affinity apps
it also would be easier not to need to right-click > drop down menu but to have a garbage bin icon working as a delete button as e.g. in the layers panel

buschbrand reacted to evtonic3 in Deleting swatches at once
It would be nice to delete multiple swatches at once by shift-clicking them and pressing delete. Right now I have to do it one by one and then be asked if I want to really delete the swatch. This is way too tedious.

Welcome to the Affinity Forums! Unfortunately this is a known issue that is already with development to be fixed. I will pass your feedback on to development.

Or even better a "Go to" button. Show the page at fill screen zoom and highlight the Layer in the Layers Studio.
Until then what I do is set the Zoom to Show Document and have Show Text Flow turned on. Lots of red dots show the pages with the overflow text.

From the menus, enable View > Show Text Flow which will display a box around each text frame, and show their linking. If any frame that is not currently selected has overflowing text the two link characters will be red dots. You can just page through your file looking for the red dots in the boxes around the text frames.

    Hi MarkEwi,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
No, it's not possible yet. This is planned but there's already many features in development, it may still take a while.
Bear with us while we get there.

    This was asked before.
I include a screen capture of all the options available in the Find & Replace and Select dialog from FreeHand.
It was great to have something like this :-)

In all of the Affinity apps there is a Preferences setting for ‘Move Tool Aspect Constrain’. The installation default is ‘Automatic’ mode: objects such as photos (which have a natural aspect ratio) keep their aspect ratio, but other objects do not. You can change the default so that all types of objects are treated the same way by default, and in all cases you can hold down the Shift key to get the opposite of the default behaviour.

    @buschbrand
i'm not shure if this is what you want, but:
you can create a new layer and right click on the new layer in the layers panel and than properties.
here you can give the layer a color and all items on that layer will have the boundingboxes in that color.

Ah, yes, a UI preview mode "curves only" would be helpful in AfPub, too.
    Two Workarounds:
    1. Since the visibility of these UI curves does depend on the object fill color you would have to toggle different UI curve colors for different fill colors. So, as a compromise, why not toggling temporarily the fill visibility, either its color or layer/group opacity or blend mode?

    2. If you have AfDesigner besides AfPublisher then you can switch to the "Designer Persona" and activate "Outline Mode" (Cmd-Y). Then all content appears in black contours with no fill, regardless whether an object got converted to curves. Back in Publisher Persona the outline mode remains active until you toggle it again as Designer Persona.

    Hello Everyone,
Purchased Publisher today hoping to upgrade from Scribus for a 260 page photo book project. I like the way the Publisher works with images as I remake each spread. Very precise. However I wanted to include several fold out pages for this book and just learned this is not possible.
Is the best work around to create separate PDF files for each fold out? Does this make sense to anyone? Put in a blank page spread for each fold out in the main PDF.
I believe some printers request fold outs delivered in this manner. Comments are welcome.
