1. Open each image in a separate window - Window -> Separated Mode
2. Add the long side pixel dimensions of each image and create a new document that is slightly larger. The shortside pixels should also exceed the short side of your mages. File -> New
3. In the first image window, select all (command A) then copy and paste that selection into the new document. Repeat for the second image. Both images should now be in the new document.
4. Select the Move Tool (arrow) from the Tools palette and reposition the images so they line-up.
5. Go to the Layer menu and select Merge Visible - Layer -> Merge Visible
6. Go to the Document menu and select Clip Canvas - Document -> Clip Canvas
7. You can now save or export the stitched, trimmed file as desired.
