is expected to be added to a future version of the product.

It is in the current version of the beta. Text > Insert > Fields > Next/Previous Frame Page Number. make a pair of linked frames and type into the first one "continued on page <Next Frame Page Number>" <Frame Break> "continued from page <Previous Frame Page Number>"

    HI Old Bruce

A number of us here have tried this and we are not getting any crashes. Is it a particular document that you are getting this with or is it on all documents of any size? If it is specific would you be able to provide the document at all?

    Thanks

Only happened yesterday, I guess a shutdown and restart cleared up the problem. Today with three different documents, including the original problem files, it all worked like a charm. Thanks for checking. I'll try to temper my enthusiasm when finding problems in the future.

I suspect we both still use old money and ft and inches!

If by old money you mean £/s/p then no due to being a Canuck, I did chance across a farthing in change once here in Canada. I do remember Dominion Day and the Red Ensign, I also slip up once in while and refer to Armistice Day.

Feet & Inches sure but Gallons through to Fluid Ounces are tricky living next the US.

FYI I find this works with either the Move or Node tool.

Test 7 was created in 1.7.0.3 and as I worked on it this problem got worse and worse.  I did try doing a reset, but the progression continues getting worse.  When I figured out a method to reproduce the problem I made a test copy and just started stripping off layers.  This had been several meg.  When I got down to Test 7 I figured I'd have someone else try it.  I think there are other ways to trigger this but the above seems to work every time for me.

    Hi,

I am not seeing what you get. As soon as I release the command key the regular bounding box returns. The other thing is that as soon as I press the command key I get the values for the distance on the thin blue lines.

I also have shots of my Preferences

It may be a different setting. I am baffled.

For instance as regards layout, at the proofing stage, I received word from the publisher that they wanted a margin change. Try that in APub on a book at the proof stage. It can certainly be done, but it isn't as quick and assured.

I know what you mean. There are a couple of things (anchored objects/image/tables and Text Frames on the Master Pages behaving like a Master Page Text Frame) which flabbergast me with their absence.

As much as I am enjoying the bug hunt and wrapping my brain around another piece of software I can say I will not buy it until those are included.

  6. I tried to replicate this yesterday and came up blank. When I have had odd difficulties of this sort I find a restart of the Mac makes a big difference. From your signature I see you are using a 9 year old machine with the same OS as I have so give it a try or even 'zap the pram' as we used to do back in the day (P + R + option + command held down at restart until you hear the start-up tone twice).

Let's say I need to get to a certain point back by clicking ctrl+z, then I need to look at it, and maybe redo by clicking ctrl+shift+z. In AD if I click on the background while in the middle of this, ALL undo/redo history is gone. Is this a bug or is it suppose to work this way?

Okay, I see what you mean. I am surprised I never noticed this before.

It is supposed to work that way, I have always just used undo + redo to get to the point I want then pick-up the pen/mouse and begin working from that point. I do see that an inadvertant mouse click will destroy the redo path but the 1.7.0.x beta of designer has the ability to store 'paths' of redo/undo so going forth and back.
