That is the last (most recent) sampled colour. If you want it to be used you click on the red and it will load into your fill or stroke whichever is frontmost. If you don't want it to be red just sample a different colour.

The only way I could get the expected behaviour was to have the replace field blank and then do a second pass (to do the string replacement) after applying the Paragraph Style. This is certainly a very bad bug. What is even stranger is that the replacement string is the only bit of the paragraph reporting that it has changed, the rest of the paragraph is the original Paragraph Style. We have one paragraph with two styles applied to separate parts. I just checked and the location of the replacement string does not matter. Beginning or middle of the paragraph we see the same application of different paragraph styles.

I think I would prefer the current two pass method, people could still mess up by mistake and that would be far worse than my slight inconvenience of doing the find and replace twice. Once to replace the style and once to remove my 'Markers'.

And you should say so too. I do similar stuff and this "Replace only the Paragraph Style" is superlative. Here comes the but... But there are times when I want the destructive to happen too. I use doubled non alpha-numerics to indicate where I want different styles. ^^ for Chapter heads, !! for a First Paragraph, $$ for a third style and on and on. Having said that I will also say that if Affinity doesn't fix/implement the destructive aspect I will still be very happy. However I really really need the scrolling to where the word/string symbols are, at times they merely mark the start of some text that needs a character style applied and with no grep functionality at present I need to get to the place in the text to manually select the arbitrary strings. There is no way I am going to search through your 200 pages of text and catch all instances. Post Script: I doubt I could check 50 let alone 500 paragraphs for formatting in 1:40, minutes your eyes must be younger than mine.

Hi @JGD try this blank. I tried with a couple of different text files and they loaded into their respective frames flowing for about 40 pages. Side note; why do you have a page wide text frame on the Master pages as well as the narrow ones? Linked test 00.afpub

Perhaps the good folks at Graphpad used only MSPaint to check portability?

Not here, Affinity Designer and Photo don't 'see' the .emf file type.

More RAM. Speed won't help if you can't load a file. I know that on the face of it that is an absurd statement but if you can have the entire file and edits loaded in RAM instead of being paged in and out of virtual memory the job will be done that much quicker.

for number 1 I would expect the category to be named after the folder and the items/assets to take the file names. I don't use the assets studio very much because of the clunky way of importing and the lack of exporting to back up bothers me too.

More is always better. You have 8 now try to get 32. Or more, it is always better, software can only benefit from more ram.

Try this; Select the layer at the top which has all the labels etc. click on the Transform button while using the Node Tool (A), then drag the boundries with the node tool. Odd that all the stuff is there but hidden.

I just type @LenC slowly and then click on the name in the list which appears below. Perhaps your browser doesn't allow the list to appear.

Fixed part of it, the big part yes but there is no page scrolling to the selected instance of found text. And I still can't find the text, change the paragraph style and replace the found text with nothing (delete place holder glyphs).

I see the same thing, it is as though the transparency is stuck on the Artistic Text tool. Rather make that stuck on both text tools. There doesn't seem to be anyway I can remove the transparency either. Bug or oversight but not something I would call useful.

Exact same here on Mac. Plus the arrow keys work once only and I cannot tab through the various fields.

I just click on "choose files..."and navigate to where I have the error log or crash report. then you click on the + symbol in the area below the message box.

I have to ask. Why not just put the text on the original page? Seems like the simplest solution.

Just a huge sigh of resignation, this isn't a deal breaker but it is damned close.

Which tool are you using? Text Frame tool or Artistic Text tool behave differently, the Frame will wrap the text the Artistic Text tool just goes on until you hit return or put a line break of some other sort in.

This is something I agree with completely.
