Check your settings for Flow and Opacity on the iMac. I have been bit by the settings are different on different machines bug many times before.

Is the link in a text frame on page 'x 'but that text frame was created on the master which the "Go to Source" then goes to? I ask because I am having a hell of a time with linked and not linked text frames from Master Pages and hyperlinks. I do believe you are talking about the Rotation Centres, click and choose the one in the middle and whatever will rotate around the middle of whatever's bounding box. The default is upper left. Clockwise or Counterclockwise is "- 0.5 degrees" or "+ 0.5 degrees". The "+" is optional. One could also use 359.5 degrees I guess.

Can't Export, but you can Import into another document. If you like the paragraph and character styles in document A just import them into any new or existing document (after getting rid of the unwanted styles, recommended just to keep the styles list manageable). Use the hamburger menu (I hate that name) on the Styles Studio, top right.

But Apple has decided to hijack that perfectly good shortcut for Desktop as a location to save the file at in their apps. We cannot Don't Save with a keyboard shortcut anymore. It makes me so angry when they don't follow their own guidelines.

The behaviour of the Table of Contents is odd to say the least. We still need to have a Group Style called Base before the inserted ToC will show up with anything other than 0.2 pt type. It will take the first styling of itself from Base i.e. Font and Size etc. Otherwise we need to be careful to not deselect the invisible type while editing the ToC Style.

Further to your initial problem you do need a Group Style called Base, the ToC takes its information from that. Set some basic information like font and size and you are good to go.

In the Text Frame studio the section called Vertical alignment shows all the options and updates as you select each frame.

Do you have a Group Style called Base? Seems to me that was my problem, I had deleted that group style and it wrecked a great many things. Not sure why you cannot open the older document though. This was on Mac by the way.

I do believe that happens here too, honestly never thought much of it in that the choices are applied correctly.
