  1. If you have a very large amount of data on the Clipboard it takes a while for Designer to purge/clear that from the clipboard when you shut down. One of the quirks of working with the Affinity Suite.
  2. Well my favourite trick is to apply a tiny amount of Gaussian Blur before exporting. On the order of 0.1 to 0.3 pixels. Obviously this is done to a Pixel layer made by Merging the Visible and exporting that blurred Pixel layer. The savings in file size can be quite large.
  3. What are the Pixel dimensions of the Designer document and also the JPEG which is exported. It may be that you have a file that is too large in Pixels.
  4. Choose the "Crop Box" to apply the Texxt wrap to, not the original image.
  5. Perhaps you put this particular photo into the Publisher document via a Copy and Paste operation.
  6. Myself, I always use CSV files, I don't trust XLSX formulas and or formatting to translate properly.
  7. I find that if I float one of the images then the others will appear in Tabs in the Consolidated window. Then I can consolidate all again to have tabs.
  8. I would say yes. Good catch. I too cannot figure out how to get the tabs to show. I most likely won't spend much time on this as I never actually work like that. I use File > Open...
  9. Actually it creates a new document with the last used settings. Good catch. I cannot find where the Command + Option + N for the (I guess default or hardwired) New document with previous settings is set.
  10. The top three are formed in a very odd manner. Two or them have sharp nodes with handles extending way out and the parallelogram has an extraneous node on the upper Right. I put a bit of a curve in the two squares so you could see what I mean.
  11. The - in the box Align to Baseline Grid means the value is inherited from whatever that text style is based on. You can have it checked or unchecked for explicit On Off setting or - for [No Change] or as I call it Inherited. I would clear it for this or go up in the Based on and uncheck it there. Myself for the most part I turn it off in the very top level and set my leading to Exact values. Only because that is how I learned to set type. I had to use physical strips of lead which were 1 or more points thick between the lines of lead letters on a stick. No fractional or percentages leading doing that.
  12. Do you have Align to Baseline turned on? in the Text Style, in the Text Frame or for the Document.
  13. It is keeping selected the node which is the second from the start of the curve.
  14. In an attempt to further muddy the waters; Instead of Migrated or Promoted how about Transferred To. This is as good a place as any to remind people to name each and every layer/item on the Master Pages with sensible unique names. Left Page Number, Left Page Header, Left Main Text, Middle Picture, Middle Picture Caption, Background Picture, etc. Use the exact same names on the various Master Pages as applicable.
  15. 3. with your text caret at the end of the "code" ) meaning the after the 5 in G+02F5) hit the Toggle Unicode keyboard shortcut Control + U
  16. This is on Mac OS 12.6.8. If I have _Words_(.) set in the Find field and \1 with a Paragraph Style chosen then I get a hang with Replace All. Replace seems to work fine, Replace All causes a hang when paired with Story.
  17. Expand stroke will probably give you the Stroke and Arrow Head as two separate curves, so you'll need to add them using either the Boolean Add or Layer > Geometry > Add.
  18. Most important have all your files on your computer, not in the cloud, not on a networked hard-drive. Again, do not use the cloud or networked hard-drives. I set up a folder/directory structure with folders/directories for the three applications plus folders/directories for any none Affinity files as well. This is inside the Main Project folder. The Illustrations folder holds the Photo and Designer files as well as the TIFFs generated from those documents. I make use of symbolic links to link folders full of TIFFs into the Illustrations folder as well, on Mac these are quite similar to the Finder's Alias files.
  19. Can you not use the Adjustment Layer Brightness and Contrast for this?
  20. No. This lack of availability of homemade Gradients is mystifying.
  21. It will be in the Colour section of the Paragraph Style's editing window. You can see how the White Colour highlight shows up with a Green rectangle placed underneath the text layer. Here is how to get rid of the White, change it to Clear/None
  22. For 1. I too don't understand why the comma is being wrapped to the start of the next line. I can think of no typographic rule which would allow this to happen. The only thing I can think of is that the period/dot after the N is overriding a "good sense" rule that is already in place. Meaning that the red period/dot is considered as a full stop and for some reason the writer/author has decided to start a new sentence with a comma. For 2. I have to say that that is quite a requirement you have set up for the text (red text to be away from the frame edge). I doubt that it is something that could be automated. I think you would have to search for the Red Text and then, where necessary, apply the Character panel's No Break to a selection of text that includes the Red Text and the preceding black text's final character all the way to the first black text character after the Red Text. Obviously if Publisher would include a rule for no line starting with a comma then things would work out better. Still wouldn't fix your Red Text rule though.
  23. I am curious Is " svatého N.," supposed to be not broken? or is it just the "N.," which is to be unbroken?
