Pixelated JPG after PDF export
Old Bruce replied to Pascale's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
If the original is a JPEG then you will be starting with Pixels, not Vectors. Exporting to PDF won't make the Pixels into Vectors. Going the other way is easy, Vectors to Pixels. Just choose a Pixel format like TIFF, PNG, GIF, or JPEG for your export. -
Preflight for CMYK 0,0,0,100?
Old Bruce replied to mykee's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Are you starting with a Publisher document that is CMYK? -
To the best of my knowledge there isn't a simple way to get vectors from an application like Designer into Motion. We can export slices as PDFs and Motion will import them. I seem to recall a method using Python and some special python routines and .... a couple of other things. Sorry my memory is what it is.

publisher move files
Old Bruce replied to namron006's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
These statements make me want to ask a really dumb question. I am wondering; have you saved the Publisher Document? -
Affinity 2 does not open the document, it keeps loading
Old Bruce replied to Yulian David's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
This sounds like there may be a Designer Document getting opened from a missing network. To stop this from happening you have to hold down the Control key (both Mac and Windows use the Control key) whilst starting up the application. This will bring up a dialog box. Uncheck everything except "Reset Most Recent Documents"- 8 replies

Here on my Mac I found that even if I used the Colour Panel's eyedropper to set the stroke the stroke the Appearance panel's stroke didn't update with the chosen (in the colour panel) and applied colour. (And then my machine froze. I am not too sure if that freeze was coincidental or not. I will report back.)

Preflight for CMYK 0,0,0,100?
Old Bruce replied to mykee's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I am going to assume that the Covers are CMYK. So my advice is to make two documents, the Cover in CMYK and the Interior in K only. -

Export with resizing, extreme risk of wron colors
Old Bruce replied to NotMyFault's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
That is a very interesting document. I tried to use the flood fill tool on it and couldn't get the colour of the pixel layer to change. -
Just select the text layer which has the effect(s) in the Layers panel and hit Command/Control + C to copy the layer. Now select the layer you want to apply the effect(s) to and use the Edit > Paste FX. Do not select the text with the text caret, the text does not have the effect applied to it. The Text Frame has the effect applied to its contents.
