Your example demonstrates why I always name each and every object, with unique and descriptive names, on my Master Pages. You have an unnamed Text Frame on Master A and the contents Migrate to the unnamed Text Frame on Master B. It is what I would expect. If all the text frames are named then the text will be promoted.

What you do is select the hexagon, after it is rotated, then use the menu Layer > Group. You will make a group with only one item in it. Then with the Group selected go to the menu Layer > Geometry > Add.

It will stay forever, this is the Internet after all. Don't worry about it. Someone may have the same problem as you and find this topic which will solve it for them too. So having this stay around is a good thing.

Use the Character Panel to set a Background colour for the Art Text Frame. It will work as long as the colour of the "paper" is the same as the Art Text's background.

Welcome to the forums @AnthonyL, There is a Perspective warp tool but it is, in my opinion, finicky to work with. You'll have to place some guides and go back and forth and forth and back to achieve what you want. There is a trial version which has all the tools as the paid version and it will work for 7 days from the first time you use it. So you may want to gather together some images and give it a go. Please note that the perspective tool only works on Pixel layers.

Arrghhhh.... Same here on Mac with V 2 in Publisher and Designer. Sorry about that. I am sure there was a way to do this but I cannot remember it. Hopefully someone will chime in and say if my faulty memory is right (meaning we can still do this somehow) or wrong (meaning we cannot do this anymore).

Use the Shape tool to create your hexagon and rotate it (30 degrees or 90 degrees) so it is the way you want it to be aligned. Use the Boolean Add in Layer > Geometry > Add to change it into a Curve. Now you can make it a text frame and the text should line up properly with the flat top edge.

Off the top of my head I can think of one scenario where there are Page breaks in the text flow. The page is deleted and the text will now flow over the spread so it appears that there is no deletion happening. Turn on Text > Show Special Characters.

Try a "click" on Master Page B, and then apply it by hitting OK. Until you hit OK you have not actually made a decision of which Master Page to apply.

I would look to see what the Transform panel shows for x, y co-ordinates and the size H, and W of the layer, you'll need to select the Move tool which is the Arrow, just below the Hand tool which is currently selected. I would show the Navigator panel which is at the bottom right of your screenshot. I would try hitting the keyboard shortcut for Zoom to Fit which is Command + 0 (zero). Have you ever used multiple monitors?

I would say your video shows you selecting and not applying Master B and Master C before finally selecting and applying Blanc. To actually apply the Master you need to hit the OK button. To the best of my recollection it has always been that way.

What happens if you apply a Master such as A or B instead of Blanc? Your video shows you choosing to apply Blanc to the Page.

I can select the entire Field. I cannot insert the text caret into the letters of the words in the field. How are you trying to get the caret "elsewhere within a Field"?

Did it ever work on picture frames? I just checked with version 1 and it only works on what is inside the frame, you may need to use the Layers panel to select the layer(s). If you are wanting to have the same transparency on the grey background and the yellow star then you should group them together and apply the gradient to the group.

This is a perfect case where overrides should be used. Override the Flow options for the second (subtitles) paragraph to Anywhere from On next page. Here is the original setting, Start on next page for both the chapter headings.... ... and here I have overridden that setting for that one instance of the Chapter Name paragraph style.

Don't. Do this instead. In the export dialog choose All Pages from the Area: dropdown menu. It will always default to All Spreads.

This is not necessarily a bug but a poorly implemented set of functions on which the Books feature has been built. Are you using Facing Pages or single Pages? Are your chapters actual text Chapters or arbitrary* breaks in the text flow? Do you have Pad or Merge Where Possible set in the Stray Pages option? Do you have a Flow option of Start on New Page set in the Paragraph Style for the Chapter Headers? Are you using Paragraph Styles? * Based on page count (eg. 32, 64, 96, etc.) instead of the text's Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, etc. which are of varying numbers of pages.

Are you able to open the file in Preview? Are you absolutely certain you are using the correct password while trying to open the file with Designer? I don't know of a character limit on passwords and the Affinity applications.

I think that the problem is the Ellipse is now a Frame Text Text Frame which has a Fill which can be changed in Publisher but not Designer. I would try and make a new Ellipse with no fill and paste the text into it.

It could be that there is an issue with flowing text and Page/Frame/Column breaks in your Word DOCX file. Turn on Text > Show Special Characters. Also check for the overflow indicator on the Text Frame. That is in the lower right side of the text frame, it is a little triangle. After I click on the little red triangle I can draw a new text frame and it contains the remaining text.

Why? It appears over the transparent background as though nothing was under it. All the blend modes with the exception of Erase show the rectangle exactly the same. It is there with the colour it has. The white area is not showing the colour burning rectangle as invisible, the colour burning rectangle is actually colour burning the underlying white to white.

For what it is worth I don't see this in Mac OS 12.7.4 Photo 2 2.4.2 The group is deleted from the Resources window when the last copy is removed.
