Hi,
I am still ploughing through all the AD tutorial videos and admittedly not even close to being called an amateur (or gifted ;), cough), but I did note one thing I'd love to see in AD: vanishing point support, even if it's just a guides framework.
Drawing with depth perspective (certainly when it's a bit more technical) is always a mild pain because there are few packages that properly support vanishing point management. It would, of course be amazing if you could automate basic shapes to conform to perspective behaviour but I reckon you deserve a rest after cramming AD so full with features I'll probably retire before I've used them all :).
Instead, having at least guides for a vanishing point would be awesome. A perspective grid would not only need a vanishing point, but also some idea for snapping and that would probably take a lot longer to achieve whereas guides to replace the usual "let's fling some guidelines on a top layer" approach would be rather cool.
Anyway, back to the tutorials - one of the things I've already managed is to convert a .PNG logo into a vector version, which served to make me both more comfortable with combining shapes and simplifying curves into the lowest possible number of nodes. That it resulted in an infinitely easier to scale logo was a mere bonus :P
