  1. MattP you are one smart cat… Can you at least mention a time plan? Preferrably something like "tomorrow" or "the day after today"? Or even "maybe today plus minus 24 hours"
  2. Hello David4, you have a lot of questions. Maybe that is why you don't receive answers? I would like to help you, unfortunately I cannot follow your words. What does "I just cannot send to the Epson Pro 9900 printer the image in the tiff image file in PS CS5. It does not match the original image file" mean? How would one know if an image matches its output? Do you mean that what you see on screen differs from your printed output? Then I'd like to know what your tif looks like, is it cmyk or rgb, is it 8bit or 16bit deep, do you use a lot of layers or is it reduced to one final one? "I have studied this effort with the X-Rite 24 patch target" is another sentence that doesn't tell me anything. What is the X-Rite patch target? I don't want to spend my time googling but would refer to understand your problems and then maybe help you.
  3. I don't mean to be rude but I am a little irritated about you going for german… I know how to express myself in that language as well, but as this should be a forum for all alike I consider you switch back to english – its not that hard anyway. No offense.
  4. Hello Rondawoolgar, as you mentioned you're doing a ps tutorial. As for your example, not everything can be transferred to Affinity Photo exactly. Adobe's layer masks f.e. handle a little different from masks in Photo.
  5. In fact, clunky is very well describing. The gradient doesn't just follow the path but is somehow more kind of masking the path. I'd like this gradient to start at the 1st node the line and end at the last. Any suggestions?
  6. Looks as if you were using slices, to be more precise, as if you were exporting one of two necessary slices, therefor the image would miss the lower half. I don't like the export persona that much, usually I export via File -> Export and then chose my preferred output format over the dialog box. So I also avoid being asked for slices.
  7. Hello Fleak, I just tried a quick export with your settings in PS and cannot see that huge difference according to crispness. Can you provide us with a bit more information?
  8. Hi Jackamus, that was my question some days ago. I was answered with the link to this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP7eBT6lLWc where the actual brush creation is around minute 8. Unfortunately the video only shows how to create pixel brushes. What you and I are looking for is a simple way to create a "true" vector brush following some plain instructions like in your example. I figured out that you can export your shape as png and then re-import the file via the "create new brush" command from the brush panel but that works not as smooth as I'd like it to. So I stand here with you and ask for a tut on creating your own shaped brushes. Brushes! Brushes! BRUUUUSHES!!!
  9. Hello, can you specify? Designer or Photo? Which preset do you chose for export?
  10. MattP: Out of curiosity: I tried to work this out, but I do not see any white rectangle in the layer panel, it all is one single image layer. You have a screenshot probably?
  11. Probably I misunderstand your question. But it seems very easy for me: you must have selected both layers in order to move them at the same time. Either click the layer you'd like to move in the layer panel or simply click the image in the canvas, then use the move tool to drag it around.
  12. The quickest way to have your design look transparent is to set your layer to "multiply". Your design shows a pixel object which makes it hard to edit in Designer. Designer is aimed to deal with vector graphics not so much pixels. Best have a look here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/32597/whats-the-difference-between-pixels-and-vectors/
  13. I am stunned. I see possibilities vast beyond my expectations, once again proof for rock solid work done by affinity. You guys definitely widen my world.
  14. I cannot yet find a way to size a shape exactly. Is there a transform panel or so like in Illustrator where I can type in sizes like 5" or 32 mm?
  15. @Leigh: this is an interesting topic – pleas forward what you find out. I'd like to also know if there is way to increase the noise filter up to a really outstanding value? Cause if I go to to the top value it is not always tough for my taste.
  16. I agree with mdb, QR generators go round by the dozen, in PDF and EPS without costs. I like the KISS principle of both Designer and Photo, so I hope they are not into this "We-Are-The-Photoshop-Monster-And-Can-Do-Anything-We-Want" mode. Who wants video editing in a pixel software?
  17. Designer or Photo? In Designer, go to view and then configure guide lines or configure grid. I have a german localized version, so I cannot name the exact command in english
  18. Sorrymate, but no idea what you have done. But you showed me the beauty of this lower bottom display you're no more seeing. Thank you!
  19. JimmyJack is right, why the heck do you do RGB jobs in cmyk? Just start in ID on a web template in RGB, then export as jpg. No need to go through the whole PS or Photo steps.
