  1. @Hangman, I just noticed in APub v1 that an attempt to edit (e.g. change colour or resize) this placed t-rex file (or a 'pumpkin', too) causes an immediate + reproducible app crash. I assume it is related to the auto-used file path (system folder "private/var/…"). So I am curious what file path the Resource Manager displays for you in your AD v2 for this resource before + after editing?
  2. Yes. I was rather wondering about the mentioned "include … libraries", compared to the OP's wording "comes with" … … which might mean the images get stored locally with an app installation and before usage. – As the linked bug report shows, this difference can matter.
  3. Also the option "Customise Tools…" might help since it adds a larger interface item next to "Tools". FWIW: in macOS the disconnection of an additional monitor automatically moves all open windows to the main screen.
  4. Does Affinity indeed include this libraries, images or their previews – or does the "Stock" panel rather 'just' include an interface to search online on the related websites for their linked images + download ? When using the option it maybe worth to be aware of a logged issue with these downloaded files that may lose them on app relaunch or computer reboot. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=AFD-5529 (this tag got changed meanwhile to…) https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=AF-964
  5. As mentioned, the export presets in the "Slices" panel allow to combine different export presets of the "Export Options" (export persona) (= menu File" -> "Export"). So one is feeding the other. That's expected and fine. A.) As soon you combine in the "Slices" panel multiple sizes (e.g. PNG 1x and 2x) the "Export Options" still displays the accordingly related export option preset (e.g. PNG) which does not include the sizes, sub-set in the "Slices" panel. Expected and fine. Also, if not saved already, the preset menu above the selected slice is grayed-out + you are enabled to save your current combination as new preset for the "Slices" panel. For instance: B.) As soon you combine in the "Slices" panel multiple file types (e.g. PNG + SVG) the "Export Options" menu appears empty (it offers 1 file type at a time, e.g. either PNG or SVG). Expected and fine. Also you are enabled to save your current combination as new preset. For instance: C.) As soon you select multiple slices in the "Slices" panel then you may (= don't have to) set 1 specific export preset for all selected slices. This may (doesn't have to) be related to one specific export option (e.g. PNG or SVG) … or it can combine multiple / different export options (their menu is grayed-out). Expected and fine. EDIT: Back to your question quoted above: The export presets in the "Slices" panel do not display the export option presets of the "Export" panel because the latter do not contain the sub-set properties (sizes + file names) of the "Slices". Therefore you either choose from the existing or create an export preset in the "Slices" panel to be enabled to choose + apply this to multiple selected slices. But to export as 1 specific file type (+ export export option) with multiple slices selected + differing Slice settings you may choose one specific "Export Options" preset in the "Export Options" panel. It will be used for all selected Slices. Therefore it is not required to choose or create an export preset in the "Slices" panel.
  6. Both menu's have the same content. Why should they be named differently? In what way do they confuse? Did you alter a parameter of a currently selected preset before trying the menu? This is what I get: The menu right of "Preset" gets grayed-out + the option "Create Preset…" in the burger menu gets enabled: If this doesn't work for you can you show a screencast demonstrating the process?
  7. Different to image editing after shooting a filter can prevent reflections from reaching the sensor. So, just in case, also for mobile phones there are various third party filter / lens adapters with various mounts (e.g. clip or magnet).
  8. Maybe. But then you don't need to switch from one to the other pixel mode but just deactivate the first.
  9. Why do you activate any of the two pixel modes at all instead of remaining in APub's vector mode?
  10. At least this two aspects might mean to use a polarizing filter when shooting the photos. Not only can it prevent window reflections (and see the 'reality' behind them), but it is also useful for other types of glare (e.g. on plant leaves (grass), water (lake, river), chrome, varnish, etc...) and therefore to improve contrast or intensify the sky for instance. - https://www.2020mag.com/article/the-physics-of-polarizing-filters https://www.lenstip.com/115.2-article-Polarizing_filters_test_About_light_and_polarization.html
  11. Note, my attached .aphoto file is just an example. There are various ways to get there. Actually every option to influence colour adjusts the contrast but "just" with a different interface (e.g. as "curves", "levels" or "hue, saturation, brightness" etc.) I think if all photos were shot with the same conditions than they will work with the same corrections. While objects of quite different sizes and brightness might change the conditions for the camera (light).
  12. I agree it may confuse but different labels/names would not solve the problem of the complex and flexible options. Generally it is the sense of a 'preset' to include multiple, different parameter settings while each single parameter is a preset by itself: For instance 'colour space', 'profile', 'page size', 'file type' … etc are all presets within one or more parent presets. For a custom preset the menu entry is grayed-out until you define/set a combination of parameters that are not saved as preset already. The presets in the panel "Export Options" also occur in the panel "Slices", where it matters what particular area of the panel you have selected (highlighted, e.g. by click on a file symbol/icon). While you define in "Export Options" various general preset parameters, you choose from that set of presets in "Slices" to combine several presets for an export of all of them with 1 click, for instance one for 'JPG grayscale' + one for 'PDF X-4'. Once it is setup, a custom combination may get saved as preset for "Slices" (e.g. 'gray + pdf') and thus it is correct, wanted and required that this latter preset (in "Slices") contains / refers to the two former presets ( in "Export Options", e.g. JPG vs. PDF). – Additionally, "Slices" allows to combine different export sizes for a certain preset (without the need to create a preset for each size).
  13. Your photo lacks in available light (which "merged" in particular the dark areas) and in compression quality (which may influence the colour fidelity). Therefore all colours / the histogram need to be "stretched" and even if you could get the single C, M, Y and K swatches "prefect" it would not necessarily fit for the entire RGB image. With a monitor of unknown calibration you would rather use the Histogram and Scope panels to check the min/max values + the Info Panel with its various samplers to check specific colours. So you can only try an approximation, for instance … test farbkarten.afphoto
  14. The reply referred to your initial question for "another layer". Unfortunately there is no option to resize multiple layers of different sizes to a specific pair of W/H (B/H) values. This was requested for V1 years ago and possibly needs a new request for V2 in the Feedback Forum. Unfortunately, in Affinity the mentioned method via Align + Snap Dragging still seems to be the fastest, even if it requires to edit multiple layers separately.
  15. Hi @WuuulF, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! The fastest would be in two steps: Use the Alignment options for X/Y and drag-resize with snapping for the object size (B/H).
  16. Yes. If the print should be without copies AND one printed sheet should have back/front + inside-left/inside-right correctly, then, of course, the spread order needs to be manually adjusted in the Pages panel. In this case the option "Repeat" and "Layout: Pages per Sheet" is not used (=1) but instead "N-Up: Across: 2" The same result can get achieved without "N-Up" (but "Single") and with the option "Layout: Pages per Sheet: 4" The UI missing – or just not working? … To me on mac the four direction buttons are always visible but have an affect only in the option "Single" (no affect for "N-Up"). === To avoid the print dialog complexity, personally I would prefer to create a layout document that would not need to fiddle around with the Affinity print options. A wanted print setup would get simpler already if the document would not be set as 2 facing page spreads but as single pages of the required 2-page width.
  17. The easiest seems to be to un-rotate the table for the cell height adjustment, there it appears to work without this issue. Weird, with numerical editing you can achieve a smaller resulting value if you enter a formula as fraction, for instance '1.2/4' … while I have no idea what algorithm is working, it is a way to enter values without the massive increase at least. If you prefer the dragging method it may be useful first to adjust the total table height, then adjust the single rows with the shift key pressed. Nevertheless still a cumbersome way.
  18. It seems to be possible if you combine "N-Up" with "Layout: 2 pages". Here for instance with 1 copy of each page (N-Up: "Repeat: 2")
  19. If you don't need the Node Tool but just want to reposition shapes then the Move Tool may be sufficient. It allows to fully hide the bounding boxes temporarily by pressing the space key on your keyboard. Also note the button in the Context Toolbar "Hide Selection while Dragging" for permanent use while dragging.
  20. With the Node Tool you can click-drag anywhere on a curve between nodes to modify the shape without using the handles or adding nodes.
  21. Workaround: In your document I am able to set the cell height not numerically in the Table Panel but manually with the Text Tool by dragging the column or row height in the layout window. There are various known bugs affecting the cell height in V1 and still V2, for instance:
  22. Alternatively to the mentioned "Add Pages From File…" and "Place" option also Copy/Paste can work: Create a new page in the target document, copy all layers in the Layers Panel of the wanted page and paste them on the new page. If the wanted page contains text frames with text flow to text frames on other pages and you want to get editable objects then none of the options will work but result in a linked text frame containing the entire story text, starting with its first paragraph in the new page. In this case you would need to select the wanted text with the Text Tool and copy/paste it to the target.
  24. Do you mean V1 desktop – or iPad? On V1 there is no delete button in the Context Toolbar, – on the iPad there is one in the Tools, as shown in your 1st screenshot.
