  1. So it might be a glitch in this specific document (or a different font file used initially). Workaround: 1. Deactivate Open Sans from your system. (to get it listed in the 'missing fonts') 2. In APub use Find & Replace to temporarily replace it with any other (unique) font. 3. Activate Open Sans. 4. Use F&R to replace the temporary font with the wanted Open Sans.
  2. How about master pages based on other master pages? Does this "I have multiple (…) page numbers set up" mean they were created on / copied to several master pages? Unless you want changing styles or positions across the document just two would be sufficient.
  3. Place the wanted element on a Master Page + apply that to other Master Pages or directly to all document pages.
  4. Maybe it is still available (not in the Studio Panels menu). When I follow in APhoto V1 the steps in this video the Text Frame Panel button appears when creating a Shape Path Text object which enables me to use the panel to add columns to a new created Frame Text frame. If this doesn't work for the OP I wonder if it matters that I also have APub installed (-> 'Studio Link'), where, btw, the hack also works for APub's Photo Persona.
  5. Safe Mode resets it during the boot process, yes, and it also may reset the Affinity font cache (quit Affinity before rebooting) – but I don't know if the "Affinity Fonts Replacements" is sufficiently affected by a macOS font cache reset, I guess that is rather stored in an app preference file and thus maybe worth a try. As Walt already mentioned: Was this document created or worked before without issues on this computer & with the same fonts installed/activated? Or are/were various versions of this font activated on this or an involved computer? Can you use Open Sans in a new document?
  6. It doesn't appear to work as a Table Format but gets assigned including its "Next Style" with text/cell selection and manual choice of "Then Next Styles" in the Text Styles panel.
  7. Are possibly two different versions of the font file involved, e.g. from different computers or de-/activated by a separate font manager app? If not, you could try to reset fonts for Affinity: • Preferences > Miscellaneous > "Reset Fonts". • Close APub + launch it with the CTRL key pressed to cause a reset dialog window > there is an option "Reset Font Replacements". If this doesn't help you could reset the font cache in macOS by booting the mac in "Safe Mode". https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/mh21245/mac
  8. As mentioned already, the Text Frame panel is a feature of APub only. – Can you show a screenshot of that video with the app icon/name + the text frame panel, … or post a link to the video?
  9. @j3rry, as shown in the OP's screenshots they aren't taken from a beta. – For 2.3.1 see also:
  10. I can't reproduce this issue and wonder how I would accidentally move an UI item while painting – possibly there is a redraw issue in your setup? Does your brush cursor switch if you hover over a panel area? Like so: –> As workaround may be it helps to hide the panels while painting? (via "Toggle UI" or "Hide Studio" or "Show Left/Right Panel"). In case of a redraw issue: Have you tried resetting the app? Or what about switching/toggling custom UI presets? (via "Studio Presets")
  11. Additionally, – while objects in the pasteboard area alternatively can get aligned with the Alignment options (Toolbar) – layer objects as "guides" allow non-rectangular orientation of lines and shapes (e.g. rectangles, squares, circles) as column guides or grid in the pasteboard. Of course, for those guides in the pasteboard with activated "Clip canvas" some snapping options may sound misleading.
  12. … and a third with the tiles as cropping mask for the image layer. The group's elements don't need to be converted to curves. With "Lock Children" activated the image gets transformed independently of its nested mask.
  13. What is "everything"? – A black background in the main/layout window might indicate an according setting in your app preferences > interface > background. Does the Layers Panel still contain the Artboard layer you just deleted, or are there its previously nested layers only? Maybe you can show two screenshots (before/after)? The remaining white rectangle indicates the drawing area (page/canvas) of a document without artboards. What in particular?
  14. "Transparency" applies to a range of situations and meanings. You can narrow down the search results with a search for "transparent background" or "transparency pattern", for instance: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&q="transparent background"&quick=1&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=and Nevertheless, this feature and its handling may confuse. While the export options offer a "Matte" colour (e.g. for PNG) which appears to show "no colour" by default this setting can have both meanings: white and transparent:
  15. some more threads: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&q="depth map"&quick=1&type=forums_topic&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=and&search_in=titles
  16. Regarding "recommend colour space": there is RGB only, LR doesn't support Grayscale, CMYK or LAB. – Sorry I don't know the answer but can rather 'sugguess' only: • Does your comparison with "Adobe RGB1998" refer to the entire workflow (set & used in both apps)? Also I wonder if a known issue in Affinity with the common default "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" profile might matter (while I am not sure if it affects profile/colour conversion only): https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/190671-on-screen-differences-between-profile-conversion-soft-proofing/ ––> https://www.color.org/srgbprofiles.xalter • Could the setting in APhoto > Preferences > Colour > Rendering Intent / > Black Point Compensation influence this? It seems there is/was no Rendering Intent option for LR: https://photo.stackexchange.com/questions/71029/in-lightroom-how-do-you-specify-perceptual-or-relative-when-exporting-image • Does the visual deviation increase if you repeat the procedure with an affected file (LR > APh > LR > APh > LR)?
  17. Also to me (APub V1) they appear as paragraph brakes ¶ while the 'End of story' § occurs only once and at the end. I remind multiple 'End of story' § characters have been reported earlier for an imported or copy/pasted text from Word, with multiple occurrences at the end. Possibly you can use Find & Replace + Regex \Z to replace those characters. If this doesn't work copy or open + save this text before import in another text editor app.
  18. In Affinity it's called AutoFlow text … https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/196677-copied-text-only-partially-pasting-into-an-affinity-publisher-document/&do=findComment&comment=1158525
  19. Affinity offers drawing tools for manual illustration and design, rather than for parametric shape creation. The possible number of geometric shapes and their variations would be vast to endless, from clubs and spades to leaves, flowers and trees, vegetables and fruits, dishes, cutlery, tools, furniture, architecture, vehicles, not to mention organic shapes of animals* and human body parts… – This software area is more developed for CAD, 3D and additive manufacturing. *Affinity Cat Tool shapes aren't parametric, e.g. for turning a kitten into a lion
  20. It appears still unclear if your print provider indeed requested a PDF from you that is already imposed. As far I understand that would be the only reason why you try to use the workaround to Print to PDF instead of the usual Export as PDF. Note, even if you don't create an imposed PDF, it can get printed imposed with various PDF viewers, for instance the free Adobe Reader. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/print-booklets-acrobat-reader.html
  21. … or don't increase them as 1 layer but rather as three separate layers, each from its own centre midpoint to keep each of the three zoomed details near its original position in the entire image. Or … • background in grayscale, focussed areas in colour • backround pixelated (e.g. halftone effect)
  22. If you just want to highlight certain areas you could darken their surrounding. This could easily + flexible be done with vector objects combined to a Compound Group where the spots (ellipses) are subtracted from their common rectangle and the entire group gets the wanted colour (e.g. gray), transparency and blend mode applied (e.g. multiply). For instance: If wanted you could additionally apply a blurring layer effect to the ellipse layers.
  23. How abaout "continually crashing" "happening whenever I used the down arrow key" or with "all sorts of keystrokes" ? If you re-enable hardware acceleration, does the crash occur again when you press the down arrow key?
  24. It's always worth in case of crashes. But to avoid a very long post you can alternatively add the report as an attached file. It seems that a master page is involved or causing the crash, so maybe you may detect the culprit there.
  25. While the mentioned Gradient Map Adjustment appears to achieve what you want (bottom example), alternatively you could apply the two colours to separate objects for more influence on the colour balance in the mid greys of your image source. For instance with a fill colour applied to the bottom image but for the upper image a parent rectangle with fill colour + blend mode 'multiply' + blend curve. (unfortunately Affinity just refuses to render the layer thumbnails for unknown reason)
