    Guys, you are fooling yourselves.
In VFX / Proffesional 3D works linux is #1 !

Just look at "The foundry" they have modo/Mari/nuke and all their apps primarily builded for linux. Did you know Mari ??

Look also at Sidefx software (Houdini), 3D equalizer, black magic design, etc etc they all making a hell of money primarily with Linux !

Then, after that thing about one simple thing: on 10 graphic design people I know there are 6 to 8 would love jumping on Linux if photoshop (or a viable alternative) was on Linux. Well affinity is even a better alternative !!

Why ? Because when you work on productions, you work so hard than you need a perfect software tailored perfectly to your needs.
That's the first part, the second is your OS, and needs that too !! But Windows is on the opposite side of that. OSX is cooler but still, bloated too much of unnecessary things. Then, there's Linux, perfect there's even now Unreal Engine on Linux and we love Krita too ! But Krita needs some competition and I hope you'll be there.

Where's the donation page I'm sure you will get surprised...

good to know   let me be audacious while I make some advertisement for an available professional alternative for Linux users:
use Photoshop CC - it works on Fedora.

    https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/install-adobe-photoshop-linux/

It`s understandable thou why Linux users are here and are voicing their wish for the support of Serif products on Linux.

    Ok,
Let says I'm making a book where on every page I place a picture on the right and a text on top, and on each pages I place the content in another text frame.
If I add on the master page those "frames" like a "template" text and image template frames, then, I can't edit those in my real pages.

How do you guy lives without a feature like that ? What I'm missing here ?

Ahh? I assume you're working for Serif ? no, you're saying that just because you don't want their product on Linux for whatever reason.

Man, 50% of Pro Linux Software exist because big client with many seats wants software in the environment they are working. (The rest are on Linux because they are made on Linux first)
So If tomorrow let says a big studio contact serif and put enough money on the table I assure you Serif will make the conversion.

Plus, I'm sure the conversion isn't so hard if they want it, nowadays recent program code isn't so tied to the OS which was not the case in the 2000's.
Serif already made the Windows version, unless they're completely crazy they already made their code 90 to 95% OS independent

Well, I see your point but maybe it's not the same for others buying hardware and make money with it...
For example, Win10 has a Huge flaw, he reserve, no matter what 10% of the GPU memory for his display manager. You can say it's fine but it isn't because he blindly reserves the same on other GPU even if they display nothing! You can imaging the performance loss just for that. Many Win based studios have been forced to go back to win 7 !

That's just one example how Microsoft don't give any attention to professionals. And don't ask how many people stucked after a forced update even if you have a "pro" version... (me included and maybe you too / 50% chance !). I can't say the same for Ubuntu install, every of mine are there even with 10 y old installs upgrade after apgrades !
No, If pros could have their software on Linux they would use it, i'm sure

Well, I hope you will do satisfy them as they are the ones that pay for your work and that makes your employees sustainable and happy.
I personally think it is good to have alternatives to the good products as Adobe's are, so we have more choices too.
Maybe, someday, Serif could afford to do the crazy thing and provide some of their great tools for Linux too ;).

I think they want our limited resources concentrating on what is important to them, in the same way as the pro-Linux people do here. That's why this is an impassioned conversation.

    Here we are !!!
Every word of a person wanting to give his opinion in favor of Linux here is dissected by the same 4 or 5 people for more than 15 pages!
That's not what I call being free to express on a forum. You aren't "reasoning" you're using your energy to promote your own ideas and push the other one out.

    Hi,
I would like to put my voice in for Linux.
    Plus:
    1. Nowadays lot of ubercool apps are in the linux train : Slack, Teamviewer, Spotify and a LOT of pro apps HOUDINI,NUKE,FUSION,MARI,MAYA,DAVINCI RESOLVE, and a bunch of cool open source apps KRITA painting Blender... !
    2. A LOT of users just wait for a photoshop replacement to jump in, osx and windows aren't productive OS anymore
    3. For the sanity of the computing futur
In any way, that would mean you're here not only for making money but for creating cool things.
