Did you tried that rig on ubtunu/krita ? Last day I tried my wacom on Ubuntu to paint with Krita and I feel something wired (linux is for me maintly a 3d rig) My wacom seemed to react like a real life pen, capturing every little movements and I liked that, I never feeled this behavior with the wacom drivers on WIN/MAC. I realised the WIN/MAC drivers made by wacom has a small lattency which is impossible to remove ! I believe in this delay they have an algorythm to smooth out our movement but I think now this is bad , very nice example of an uneeded overhead !

I never said Open Sourcing but supporting, which means for example simply supporting people who made to choice to be on an open platform. By the way Cats are well know to be very bad for our environment we souldn't support that

Haha, I worked personally 12 hour a day with XSI starting from the 3.5 version to the end (more than 10 years). Before that with Lightwave starting from 1994 on Amiga ! I can assure you every decision in development they made by "Passion" has been heard deeply and forever by the users and have changed the 3d background forever. Every ex XSI users are all disgusted exactly by compagny who care only about money/profits/sales (AD). You are roughly telling that the good model and example for a compagny (speaking about 3d apps) is for example MAYA or 3DS max, (speaking about 2D) ADOBE ? are you mad ? these are the perfect example of, by the years, dictated by money, are now very bad apps, everywhere users are complaining and they are just... stucked ! That's not a path Serif follow I hope For the history, (nothing has to do with Serif) : What's the difference between XSI and MAYA ? well XSI is a total rewrite of the app they made from SOFTIMAGE around 2000's. They loose 3y of development, 3y of... MAYA market penetration. BUT, they made the best 3d app of the world Speaking of Lightwave they are now dead (likelly dead) because they never made their rewrite wanted by the core devellopers ( Brad Peebler Allen Hastings and Stuart Ferguson ) So, First case, by passion a software die but left happy users, the second the software die but left angry users. Like you I'm an : I'll remember only the good ones

Ok, but everyone is talking about how serif could make money out of that. Is profits/sales the only matter in your life ? I personally think the open source community is invaluable, every developer can't deny that and should support that. Starting from there own product ? And seriously, an app developed these last years should have a serious common code base shared between the 3 OS's

I've forgot the Alegorithmic Tools, Substance Painter, Substance Designer. That alone says how much Linux is an important player in Computer Graphics I can listen you guys with your criticism about how you can't bear Linux but facts are better than presumption.

What a surprise ! I'm simply talking about how Windows and MacOs blow your computer power, space, and bandwidth by default. How, little by little you computer mute to a Notification Machine, an Ad machine, an update Machine, a tracked Machine. Yes you can work with it. But doing that you're giving away a good part of your computing power to manage things you don't need, created only for the purpose of our consumer society. Of course you can configure all that deeply, like you, like me, but we are not the majority. I'm amazed how can you guys could declare a flame war for that, nobody should be against linux ! Think about it twice that's the only free alternative out there and maybe the futur of computing. I assume you're all aware of the lack of energy our civilisation will face in the next decade and how our civilisation could collapse... To get back on the Affinity project, maybe i'm wrong but I think about them like people just like that, fighting big corporation, trying to reinvent the wheel... with or without a linux version Cheers

Hi, I would like to put my voice in for Linux. Plus: 1. Nowadays lot of ubercool apps are in the linux train : Slack, Teamviewer, Spotify and a LOT of pro apps HOUDINI,NUKE,FUSION,MARI,MAYA,DAVINCI RESOLVE, and a bunch of cool open source apps KRITA painting Blender... ! 2. A LOT of users just wait for a photoshop replacement to jump in, osx and windows aren't productive OS anymore 3. For the sanity of the computing futur In any way, that would mean you're here not only for making money but for creating cool things.

Guys, you are fooling yourselves. In VFX / Proffesional 3D works linux is #1 ! Just look at "The foundry" they have modo/Mari/nuke and all their apps primarily builded for linux. Did you know Mari ?? Look also at Sidefx software (Houdini), 3D equalizer, black magic design, etc etc they all making a hell of money primarily with Linux ! Then, after that thing about one simple thing: on 10 graphic design people I know there are 6 to 8 would love jumping on Linux if photoshop (or a viable alternative) was on Linux. Well affinity is even a better alternative !! Why ? Because when you work on productions, you work so hard than you need a perfect software tailored perfectly to your needs. That's the first part, the second is your OS, and needs that too !! But Windows is on the opposite side of that. OSX is cooler but still, bloated too much of unnecessary things. Then, there's Linux, perfect there's even now Unreal Engine on Linux and we love Krita too ! But Krita needs some competition and I hope you'll be there. Where's the donation page I'm sure you will get surprised...
