the crashing is logged and I think if you're trying to reference the total number of pages in a book you'll need to use a cross reference to an anchor on the last page to gerneate that page number.

The crash is  within preflight and is probably due to a linked file.

Rename the top level folder with your resources in, open the doc and relink them. That should hopefully stop the crash

The error message is usually related to a problem with resources. The beta version has some fixes to get around that

Can you try launching the app whilst holding the control key down at the same time, perform the reset and see if it launches OK then
