do you have any custom or unusual looking ICC profiles ?.
could zip up the profiles folder ( C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color) and post it here please -
@demonweasel - i've split your issue off - makes it easier to keep track. Could you zip up your windows fonts folder and I'll see if I can spot any issue there. You can upload the zip here. Could you also include a recent event viewer log and crash report please
-
Looking back through the posts you said that reinstalling .Net 4.8.1 got things working for a bit - I would be interested to know if you did that again would that get things going?
-
One more thing to try and you'll need to check that doing this won't totally disable any display options of your laptop or even it it is possible.
Try disabling the Intel Graphics adapter.
In you log.txt file there is a reference to skipping an unsupported device. This could be the intel adapter or something else that has been left behind -
better have the log.txt file as well - I still suspect it's something to do with OpenCL and that nvidia card
-
and the event viewer to see if that has changed
-
can you post the crash dump from that run please
-
interestingly the log.txt file does not list the Nvidia card - try disabling that in device manager.
-
@spidermurph - can you send us the log.txt file which can be found in you user .Affinity folder (e.g. C:\Users\<auser>\.affinity\Photo\2.0 ) and another copy of the event log now that the monitor issue looks resolved.
V1 and V2 use quite different methods of using graphics adapters especially regarding OpenCL -
@demonweasel that report would tend to suggest a font issue - you could look into resetting the font cache they may also be an issue with duplicate fonts (which can be tricky to track down unless you use a font manager). Also try booting into safe mode and see if the apps run up then
-
Just tried that on my PC - and thats working fine. The VGA Compatible video controller may be the underlying problem. It could be the on-board graphics. Maybe sourcing a video driver from Lenovo is the way forward

Is the SuperDisplay Virtual Adapter something you've installed ?
-
could be worth checking Device Manager and its monitor section. it should list the built in monitor without any warnings
-
do you set the monitor device profile to anything unusual ? - if so try setting it to a generic sRGB profile
-
that would imply some sort of problem with a colour profile which I wouldn't expect on a clean install of windows
-
yes - you'll find them in the windows event viewer
-
do you have an windows event log of a failed run up attempt we can investigate.
-
did you do a complete new install of windows?
-
Is the PDF being generated using font sub-setting ?, disabling that may make a difference
-
@Euan the crash seems related to artboards. Has the source file changed in that respect since it was placed in the document ?
maybe an artboard has been deleted. To investigate further we'd the file and the linked file to investigate -
Could we get a copy of the file please
-
is it too big to go through each record in preview mode and see if its a particular entry causing the problem ?
-
In that case if you can put the afpub document and data file here please

that would work around the problem. If it happens again also try enabling
--font-cache-loggingthat might identify the problem font
