Affinity Instructional Videos
Colin Red replied to Colin Red's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Thank you RCR -
Hi there, Is there any possible way of getting the Affinity Instructional Videos back on your previous platform, You Tube navigation is terrible and very unprofessional. The interface of the Affinity Apps are beautifully designed and very professional. The Spotlight Website interface once again is very well designed and elegant. The instructional videos on You Tube are messy and not worthy of all the time spent on creating your apps and on Spotlight. The videos on the previous platform easy to find and view, not so on You Tube. After trying yesterday I gave up trying to navigate the videos respectively Colin

I am sorry to inform you I don't do You Tube, what happened to your own video platform. Worst point I need to sign in to You Tube, not happening ....... I would love to update to V2 and have been with Affinity since the early days. So I may have to pass on V2 .... unless there is a change ..... I am disappointed

JPEG or jpg ???
Colin Red replied to Colin Red's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Perhaps you would consider me “Old School” but I do not use javascript or software that builds websites on a predetermined style as in say “WIX” as an example. I only use html and css and have been for the past few years. I hand code my work for the pure satisfaction of doing so. I have found that staying consistent in my work that I do not create unexpected errors or problems. I always use lowercase when in a text editor except for the obvious capitalization and in paragraphs and titles etc. My website if you like https://www.williamsartandphotography.com Red -
JPEG or jpg ???
Colin Red replied to Colin Red's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
thank you Dan, Yes I do understand all the reasons mentioned ....... to bad there is no consistency whether to use jpeg or jpg or for that matter upper or lower case as in JPEG or JPG. I create websites and when uploading images I have to be conscious of upper or lower case and whether to use the 3 or 4 letter extension. -

I can no longer use Affinity Photo with confidence. The 2 files included show the image in Photo and the exported image of the same file -
Affinity Photo processing image problem
Colin Red replied to Colin Red's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
I have been trying to replicate the issue with my external monitor disconnected, but as you can see the screen shot shows the issue is still around. I have saved the AF file with the history if you wish for me to send the file to you -
Affinity Photo processing image problem
Colin Red replied to Colin Red's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Over the past few days I have monitored Affinity Photo with Monterey ( latest version ) I have tried checking and unchecking "Automatic Graphic Switching" but doing this does not help. "Blend Ranges" has become almost unusable as I consistently get the spinning coloured ball when trying to adjust the anchor points or curves. Also the fan speed on the laptop increases when using Photo. Hope this info helps. -
Affinity Photo processing image problem
Colin Red replied to Colin Red's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hi Callum, Thank you, Disabling Metal Compute does not appear to cause the issue, however I did notice that when I did disable Metal Compute that when performing Blend Ranges the screen became choppy on the NEC monitor and my fans on the Mac Book Pro sped up. Not sure I like the idea of disabling it Colin -
Hope someone can help, this is really frustrating !!!!!!!!!!! MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB running macOS 12.3.1 Metal Compute is on ......... Monitor NEC PA271Q .......... Computer and Monitor were connected via usb c ...... out of desperation the connection is now done via HDMI and usb c ...... still have the same issue This is only happening with Photo , have not seen it in other software All help greatly appreciated Colin

ps, not sure why this only happens to the HSL panel !!!
-
Hi, yes I am well aware of this procedure, every time the panel malfunctions I do drag the panel to my laptop screen and back again to my main monitor and it rectifies itself Colin
-
Thank for responding, I do not use the adjustments panel and presets. I use the adjustment pin ( icon ) from the bottom of the layers panel Colin

Hi there I reported this issue over a year ago perhaps even two years. Every once in a while the HSL panel only shows a part of the full panel. This is happening on a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) with the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB. I did a clean install of Catalina when this issue first happened. I have now updated to Big Sur and as a clean install, but the issue is still around. I use a PA271Q Display with the laptop. I am including a screen shot. respectively Colin

Hi there, not sure if this has been addressed or not. ..... affinity software not opening on first click after reboot on Catalina. This happens to Photo, Designer and Publisher...All three programs purchased from the Affinity store and all updated to the latest versions. Running MacBook Pro 16in. Catalina 10.15.7 The apps will open perfectly as long as I do not reboot. Colin
