Inserting/deleting pages takes much longer in Publisher v2. Especially, the redisplay of pages in the pages tab takes very long.
Overall, Publisher v2 is noticeably slower than V1.

We do have prototyping already working behind-the-scenes in the current Designer, but it is disabled while we work through and flesh it out. Hopefully 1.6 will enable this functionality :)

Hey Affinity team - Since Affinity Designer is getting more into UI/UX, I wanted to ask if you have any plans on possibly making a prototype persona or something along these lines for rapid prototyping and animations. Right now, my workflow goes something like this: All heavy graphic design work is done in Affinity Designer and all the UI/UX work in Sketch and prototype in InVision or Principle for Mac for more complex animations/transitions. I would love to be able to just prototype and create animated transitions straight out of AD. Just wondering if this is something that would be possible in AD and if so would it be in the road-map anytime soon. It's obvious Affinity Designer can do a lot more than UI software like Sketch, but I think having a prototype/motion feature would put this app ahead of the competition for UI/UX. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Just wanted to say +1 for a keyboard shortcut for filling a selection (e.g., Option + Delete for primary (foreground in PS) and Command + Delete for secondary (background in PS)).
 
Use those all the time in PS and am really missing that feature in Photo at the moment!  :(

I tried to reduce the .jpg image with "document resizing" using the default settings.

Resize document from 1667px to 1000px Reasample Nearest Neighbour.

Why the resized image is very degraded?

In attached you can see the original image and resized image.

I'm new to the Affinity photo app and I have to say I'm very impressed with it overall, very polished and powerful. One omission for me, I am primarily an astrophotographer, is the dust and scratches tool.
 
Apologies if I have missed it somewhere, if I have, I'd be grateful to know where it's lurking. The dust and scratches tool is an essential part of my workflow in Photoshop (it is used for removing and creating seperate layers containing stars in astro images) and is all that stands between my switching over to Affinity from Photoshop.

Have a look in Preferences > User Interface and check "Marquee select on touch". (In the beta it is "Select object when intersects with selection marquee".)
