  1. Is there such a "secret" as well for re-ordering slices in Export Persona? Unfortunately I haven't found a way to do so.
  2. Hi Lojza, that's true. But if you want to duplicate the export settings of a slice you have at least the possibility to copy the settings from one slice to another. Unfortunately therefore are no customizable short cuts provided. Best, Stefan.
  3. Congrats too and thanks a lot for your great work so far. I'm very happy that I've found your software 6 month ago and I am using it daily. @MattP: The former Betas gave a hint, that there is a new Beta available. Beta 1.5.15 does not let you know that there is a new one (RC1). On purpose? Cheers, Stefan.
  4. Hi, is it technically possible to let the value-lists of the comboboxes of the tool bar hover over the floating windows, to be able to use the list? To choose between all values? This would allow to continuously work. No need to "Esc" the combobox, move the floating window away and start over. Cheers, Stefan. AD_Improvement_ToolComboBoxOnTop.mov
  5. Bleduc, yes you can use the color picker. But if you want to use a global color to have a color instance - to easily modify the color value afterwards - you have to use swatches, which is possible but under circumstances with more clicks than drag n drop.
  6. Thanks bleduc. I know I have all the provided values. I copied all #HEX values of each gradient color and tweaked the positions of the colors of the new gradient as well. It just took a while. :) And I think it was much faster to copy the #HEX value directly into the appropriate color of the new gradient fill, instead of taking an indirect way via swatches.
  7. Exactly. I created a gradient in a layer fx (gradient overlay). That gradient I want to "extract / re-use as a fill in other objects which have their own (different) layer fx. So a swatch would be the solution here.
  8. Hi, I see the following improvement to the swatches workflow: A.) drag & drop from swatches panel into the color field of the gradient overlay B.) drag & drop from swatches panel into the color field of the color overlay Why this could speed up the workflow: To add or change the color in a layer fx it is necessary to open the "layer fx window" and choose the function "color overlay". Ok. If users have their swatches panel already open, like me, (with for example: document palette) I could easily pick the desired swatch and drag it into the the color field if drag n drop would be possible. At the moment I have to click on the color field and "hope" that the popped-up color window is presenting me already the desired color, if not: I have to do some more "mouse work" like choosing swatches and then choosing document palette to get to the desired color. But see this request more as cosmetic then minor or even major. Cheers, Stefan.
  9. Hi, it would save a lot of time if the layer fx "gradient overlay" AND outline ("Umrandung" - see 3rd attached image) would have the same functionality as "color overlay": the ability of choosing swatches - gradients in this case. For a vice versa functionality - see also: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/25422-how-to-get-a-color-gradient-from-layer-fx-into-swatchesgradients/ Thanks for taking your time and thinking about it, Stefan.
  10. Hi MEB, thanks a lot for your fast reply. And yes, I would like to see it in the feature request section. I mean, a color is very easy to copy (#HEX value) ... but gradients which a "complicated" are a pain to copy. Thanks, Stefan.
  11. Hi guys, I have created a color gradient in a layer fx (see image) - now I want to copy that gradient somehow or ideally make it a swatch/global gradient. But I don't see how. Thanks in advance, Stefan.
  12. It happens" if you place a file and click+drag (not just click). And I would describe it as follows: I configured my AD workflow to never constrain scaling to aspect ratio. Scale objects happens all the time, so I am "overdid" using my Shift key to get my scaling work in aspect ratio. I am 100% sure what happens, if I use this modifier. But if I place e.g. a PNG or SVG and instead of just click > click+drag the imported file - I get confused because here the behavior is vice versa. Holding my Shift modifier unlocks the aspect ratio and the image will be scaled freely. Here AD makes me think, but a perfect workflow shouldn't.
  13. Hi, if the option "show selection in layers panel" is set (to see your current selection automatically in the layers panel) it also means: click on a layer / click on a group / reorder a layer / reorder a group will lead to expand the group/layer. That is not helpful at all and hopefully a bug only. :) Cheers, Stefan.
  14. Hi there, I've set "do not constrain by default" for the move tool / scaling in my preferences. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/upload-media/monthly_09_2016/post-1198-0-66436200-1473232311.png Unfortunately this has no influence to the "place file" function. Is this a bug? Or do I need a feature request for it? If so: I hope it is possible to have an option in preferences for ignoring aspect ratio for placing a file too. :) Cheers, Stefan.
  15. Hi al, it just happened that I had to changed my document size by adding pixels to the LEFT side of the canvas. What I realized later, was that all slices went to the "wrong position" caused by the canvas modification. At least a warning / hint / dialog would have been nice at the point of altering the document size. A file dialog that in case of having slices (which are constrained to canvas size) that offers to: 1) just ignore slice positions and 2) calculate the new positions + alter them automatically would be very nice here ;) Thanks for thinking about it, Stefan.
  16. Hi all, I had the situation, that I created an object as a mask (which is a non destructive boolean object - I love this functionality). But when I use that object as a mask, I loose the ability to "on-the-fly-modify" the mask itself. I have to the the mask object out of its function as a mask - to have the booleans to click on an modify. After that I can use it again as a mask. But that means again, I cannot pick the separate mask-objects to modify ... so I have to start the same process again and again... Thanks for thinking about that issue, Stefan.
  17. Thanx a lot for your great work and the high rate of published beta versions for the community.
  18. Hi, the following situation: for example I want to change the width of an object. I click into the input field ... within the "transformation panel" ... hit return - the focus stays on that input field which is NICE in case of using tab to switch to other input fields. BUT: when hitting the "Esc" button I would like make sure to release the focus of that input field so that I can go on in my work with AD. Now it leads to confusing situations like: if I want to go on with another tool like Zoom (Z), or Text (T) ... the still focused input field leads: 1) to entering the input field, 2) setting the value to "0" and the cursor is blinking. I have to click "Esc" again and the desired tool as well. Improving the current behavior would, at least in my case, lead to less confusion and saving mouse clicks >> increasing efficiency. Thanks for thinking about it, Stefan.
  19. Hi, I was missing an obvious option to remove a layer fx, for example by: 1. context menu (RMB) 2. an entry in menu layers (plus shortcut) 3. via drag 'n drop (like in Adobe Phoooooop) Up to now, I had seen me forced to click on the fx icon and then deselect all used fx (in worst case all 10) to get rid of the fx. Together with all the mouse movements too much clicks and precise mouse work. WORKAROUND (I just found today): w1. CMD+C on an element with no layer fx (and no style) w2. CTRL+CMD+V to paste the fx So now this feature request can be seen as low-prio/cosmetic :) Keep continue working on this great piece of software, Stefan. see also: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/24663-toggle-layer-fx-onoff/
  20. Hi guys, beside this great thread about auto-select objects: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/23944-ad-auto-jump-to-selected-object-in-layer-panel/?hl=find+layers but back to my concern: at the moment AD does not allow to "find multiple selections in panel layers". Okay, I see the point that two or more objects are likely that far away from each other that they cannot be displayed at once in the layer panel. BUT I totally disagree to disable that functionality in case of having 2 objects selected. Even they are positioned side by side. Currently there is no chance to use this nice feature. My suggestion: - mark each object in panel layers AND jump to one object - ideally jump to the "last selected" object The advantages I see: 1. I don't "loose" my selection to use this feature 2. at least it would help me to see one object (of my selection) immediately Why I would like to prefer "the last selected" object to be the one that got focused in the panel? It makes it much more variable and easier for the user to influence what is shown in case of multiple targets. If "find in layers" function would always go and present the first object in layers hierarchy - the user would have no means to influence the result. If the first selected object is the one that would be presented - it would force the user to re-select everything to "find" an other object in layers. If it is the last selected object - perfect: no need to start over the whole selection if you wanna see a different object in layers focused. >> Just deselect and re-select the desired object that you would like to see in layers << I have already worked with programs that had such functionality and I liked and used it a lot.
  21. Hi, when I use the transformation panel to type in exact values it happens regularly that I overlook that the anchor point is set to a false position which I realize just after hitting return. On my display the brighter color is more obvious than the bigger (grey) area. So in my opinion it would be more obvious and better to: 1. not to have only a bigger area for the current anchor point (status quo) but also in the brighter color as it is now (and I do not know why, but always for the top left position) 2. don't tint the top left corner in white - it's only confusing and competing with the actual setting My two cents, Stefan.
  22. Yes. Thanks. I did it now. But it does not help me in any way, when I want to use (open) my old work (files) ?!
