Perfect...thanks. I clicked the preserve alpa in the live filter and the reduction in opacity at the top and bottom was removed.

Sorry I think I still have an issue. Please see attached. The top and bottom boarder appears as pixels on my screen and only appeared once i added a live motion blur filter. It doesn't appear when I add just a normal motion blur filter. Why does this pixel border appear when I use a live filter vs not live filter

Thank you. I see now what i did wrong. In the Development Persona my output was set as Pixel Layer. When I switched the output to RAW Layer (linked)or, RAW Layer (embedded) then the strange pixel border at the top and bottom of the image disappeared. Thank you again

Thank you for your response. Not sure what you meant by dimension adjustments before taking it over.

Dehaze in develop persona.
Cicco replied to TomSmithNP's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
Why is this tool not set up to be nondestructive edit. I understand that AF is not Lightroom and I truly welcome that but there are some items that make sense. Like having the dehaze slider as nondestructive edit -
My trial version of Affinity as long expired and I've been working with the full version for some months now. I just tried to open a photo with an .afphoto extension and affinity trial version keeps trying to open the photo even though I have full version affinity open. How do i permanently delete the trial version.

Hi all. Was watching the online tutorial under enhancing landscape/architecture where a vector tool was used to vector windows and then a light filter was applied to the vector area. The tutorial focus was mainly around grouping the vector masks. Was wondering if there was more information on how to apply the vector tool to start with. Thank you

Colour Layer
Cicco replied to Cicco's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
sorry of the delay. As it turns out i needed to restart the software to make things work. That happened now a couple of times. I should just get into the habit of rebooting the software rather than leave it running all the day the long -
Colour Layer
Cicco replied to Cicco's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
In trouble again. I've followed the bohke tutorial to the point where I've selected my paint brush and am working in only my masked bohke layer. However unlike in the video when I pass my paint brush over the image i want to convert back to focus all i see/or get is a hatched looked outcome, not the in focused image. Where did i go wrong. My photo is in colour and not B/W as in the video -
Colour Layer
Cicco replied to Cicco's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
all fixed...thank you -
Hello! I'm following the tutorial on creating bokeh. Fun. However i'm stuck. I'm trying to select black as per the tutorial but i cant figure how to make the switch. On the left side panel under the colour tab I have the two overlapping circles - one black the other white. The top circle is black and the underlying circle is white. However next to it is the eye dropper symbol and a smaller circle. The circle is coloured purple. Not even sure how i got it that colour. Anyway, its supposed be black. Please, what are the institutions for switching this colour. Truth be told I'm not even sure how to edit any of them or their purposes at this point. LOL.....

thanks. great advise! I def need to spend more time understanding the different persona's as well as nesting. It might be, after watch a tutorial on this, that i'm not selecting the correct nest or pixel and therefore the edit tool I'm selecting isnt pointed in the right direction. so much to learn...not enough time! :D

Greetings all, I've traditionally been taking all my photo as JPEG and only recently learned how to shoot both JEPG and RAW. So much to learn! Since jumping into Affinity I'm learning that its best (perhaps?) to just shoot RAW. I use Photo to manage my photo files and know how to switch between JPEG and RAW. However Ive discovered that not all edit options via Affinity are available to my older JEPG files that I'm experimenting with. Is there a simple way to know which edit tools are available with just JPEG. I'd would also greatly appreciate your opinions on shooting either JPEG, JPEG+RAW, and just RAW. Or any of the other file format options. :)

Hi All - new to Affinity. Lots to learn. My first real photo editing experience so please be kind. I've got a bright outdoor family photo. Unfortunately one of our family members who happens to be hair challenged has a very bright shiny spot off to the side. Not sure the best solution to correct this. I'm playing with the clone brush and the healing brush but to no avail. any suggestions?
