David4 got a reaction from CircularWebs in Color Correction with X-Rite Colorchecker Passport
Hi, metaweb20.  What is the color checker you are holding?   I know it's not the passport.

I use the classic 24 patch cardboard one, that's sort of 3.5 inches by 2 inches.

Using the application Raw Photo Processor 64, (RPP 64) I create my camera/sensor/lens/lighting custom profile.   AP cannot read RPP 64 profile, and staff has said it will be readable in a future release.

What you are asking for is marvelous! ! !     Do add to features request section.

    Kind regards,

    Please Help

I am soooo frustrated with this 'soft proofing' and NO ONE helping!   Sure, I have used soft proofing.   Have you, Big_Stan, attempted to have the exported image match what comes out as the .tiff and then open it in Photoshop?  There is no match!  Just does not happen!

I just cannot send to the Epson Pro 9900 printer the image in the tiff image file in PS CS5.  It does not match the original image file. Even if my custom printer profile is applied, there is no match.  Further more, sending the image through LR 6.4, or Printao 8, is useless.

In my workflow I used to use, the image in LR 6.4, edited for size, in PS CS5 is a perfect match (if any match is perfect).

My goal is to have AP become use staple in my workflow.

In previous posts I asked if what I was doing was correct.  I attached screen shots.  I have tried different combinations of settings available.  I still cannot get the digital image file to match the original

I have studied this effort with the X-Rite 24 patch target.  What more can I write?

Alan, please help!    Alan, your video lessons are have the right tempo for me!

    Kind Regards,

    David

CameraProfiles;   I want to use .dcp camera profile.   How do I instalL into AP?

To get the .dcp camera profile, I digitally capture the 24 patch X-rite cardboard target.  Convert that digital capture to dng with Adobe dng converter, and create the camera profile using
    dng profile editor.

The .dcp camera profile works perfectly in my LR 6.3 workflow.  That is the reason I would like to be able to use the .dcp camera profile.

Equipment:  MacBook Pro 8,3.  OS  10.11.6.

    Printer, Epson Pro 9900

I would appreciate someone that has been printing with Affinity Photo, to help me print through AF, to my Epson Pro 9900.

Seems hit and miss for paper centering, and paper sizes, at the print persona.

Also, settings I have acquired, don’t stick in print persona.  I need to redo the settings each time.

I can print with PS CS5, and LR 6.6.1.

I also am fortunate to have Printao 8 print software.

I would find it convenient to be able to print from AF with it’s print persona

    Kind Regards,

I am still very new to graphic design in general and was wondering if there was a way to make a group of objects bend? I am following an illustrator tutorial and the whole thing is done on a straight willow branch and at the end they make it curve. Is this possible with Designer? I've tried playing with the transform tool and the only thing I can seem to do with that is move the group around the art board or severely distort my flowers :(

Regarding the color management, not so depth about the management instead, but the color chooser and work with different colors become quite hard, i believe this area will be improved with a color dropper more easy to use like another tool...

I feel that the color selector it´s not very precise, i missed a info palete that give in real time about colors, position, measures and size of selection.

    Best regards

Hmm...not that this is any help and FWIW...

I have my working space in AP set to aRGB and I don't use ProPhotoRGB, but 99% of my RAW digital image files from a few different RAW file formats are converted in standalone RAW converters  and tagged with a custom color space built specifically for digital cameras. I have compared the view as opened in AP against PhotoLine (my primary editor on Mac) and against the view in a few different RAW converters and I haven't seen any odd and/or over-saturated colors. Oh, and I regularly calibrate my monitor.

This is a serious problem for me
My working space for RAW files in PhotoshopCC 2014, Lightroom 5.7, Capture One Pro 8, and Iridient Developer is and will be Prophoto RGB (LR uses Mellissa RGB I believe which is close to Prophoto)
Opening any one of my RAW files in all programs except Aiffinity gives correct colors on my calibrated monitor.
Affinity gives over saturated images with a strong color cast which can only be corrected by assigning either Apple RGB or sRGB neither of which I want to use.

I have the same problem. I want to work in ProPhoto, but I'm not able to get accurate colors. Maybe I'm missing something and am just accustomed to using PS for years. I'd assume I'd be able to figure it out though.

    I can confirm this.

ColorSync Utilities’ Color Calculator shows that ProPhoto RGB 0-255-0 corresponds to 0-255-0 in my display profile, whereas sRGB 0-255-0 corresponds to 91-255-14 in my display profile.

When I open a test TIFF image (16 bit, monochrome green ProPhoto RGB 0-255-0), Affinity Photo correctly says (in the upper left) that the image is “RGBA/16 ProPhoto RGB”. The green color, however, is displayed as 91-255-14 on my display (as DigitalColor Meter reveals). In other words, the color conversion to the display is sRGB → displayColorSpace, not ProPhoto RGB → displayColorSpace, as it should be.

I really really want inches for cropping.   As I stated earlier, I think is terms of 'inches', for cropping.

David4 got a reaction from My Strawberry Monkey in extremely simple way to add borders around an image file, like in PS CS5
What I am looking for, what I need, is to very simply create a border around an image, for printing.  Example is an one inch border, gray, all around the image file.   Then, another border, two inches all around, with another color, say, dark blue.   Thus I have a matted print that comes out of my Epson Pro 9900.   I do this in PS CS5.

I would prefer to do this in AP.   I don’t want to mess with pixels, since I don’t know how.

“Affinity Photo - Adding Borders”…I have watched this time and again.  Over and over, and still don’t know what to do.    It would be beneficial to me to have a person talking slowly  and moving slowly, so I can understand.  Even someone else could guide me to a different way to create borders the way I must have them!

It should not be that difficult to create borders they way I need them in my work flow.

    Cheers
