  1. I have a shot of an old (1794) gristmill that has significant noise in the "pinkish" shutters on the shaded side of the mill.  I decided to dig-out Define 2 to see if it would be able to reduce the noise on the pink shutters to an acceptable level.  Define met my objects,  however as can be seen in the screen grab, while using Define, a weird color shift occurred in the preview window (the color shift went away when I clicked ok and went back to AP).  The color shift has not really impacted my use of Define, just disconcerting.  BTW, I experienced a similar color shift while using Imagenomic's Noiseware and Topaz Denoise 6.

  2. Today, I froze my Mac again.  I was doing a lot more cloning that a reasonable person would normally be performing.  After I had been extensively cutting power lines out of complex tree limbs, I moved over to perform a pen selection and move (after the moves, I was using the clone brush to blend the seams).  After the second select and move, while I was doing the seam blend, I got the beach ball which continued to spin for about 1 minute, and after the spinning ball stopped the Mac was frozen.  Fortunately, I had been pressing CMD + S to save as I went along, so recovery was not too bad.  After I shut down (white button),  I was able to complete the remaining cloning operations without any problem until I completed the desired changes.

  3. I am still trying to isolate the specific actions that trigger the freeze that I am experiencing with 1.7.  I am unable to identify a specific set of iterations to cause the freeze, however, at this point I know that the freeze is correlated with straight line clones and some times I see short delays and some spinning  beach balls with regular clones.  I have tried everything that I can think of to freeze 1.6.7, and  I cannot get 1.6.7 to freeze.

  4. Just froze again, additional observations:

1 I was performing a series of straight line clones.  I was not counting, but I believe it froze on the fourth. I had previously tried to freeze it with regular cloning operations (not straight line) and the Mac did not freeze. In order to see if I could make it freeze, I performed 100 regular clones with no adverse effects.

    2. During the freeze, the clock stopped advancing.

    3. Waited 5 minutes and then finally pushed the button to shut-down.

    4. After coming back on-line, the clock advance to the correct time displayed.

    5. I continued cloning and there were delays while I was attempting to perform regular clones (no straight line clones).  The were delays between clicking and the clone appearing.  The delays were as short as a split second and as long as several seconds with the beach ball spinning.
