    Wacom Tablet

It works with AP 1.6.7. I have a Wacom Intuos PT M, using Driver 6.3.29-6 (there is a new driver, but I haven't down loaded it yet) on Mojave.
  2. This is probably a silly question, but did you try to delete the app and then a fresh reinstall
  3. I tried to replicate your screen, I couldn't make it happen.
  4. I am still anxiously awaiting the arrival of 1.7; in the mean time, I am experiencing a weird color problem with 1.6.7 and my noise reduction apps. The strange color occurs on all three apps; Noiseware, Define 2, and DeNoise 6 and shows up in the Preview Window. I do not know if 1.7 Beta has the same problem because 1.7 cannot find my plugins. I have inserted screen grabs of the preview windows and a shot of actual image. True color shot:
  5. Thank you. When can we expect the final release of 1.7? Between the straight line clone problem (which is a serious problem for me) and the weird color (not that important), I really need a viable 1.7. I have tinkering with 1.7 Beta and I hope the final release will work better than the Beta, it is quirky, eg, if I try a free hand clone and drag downward, the sample cross-hair goes off on a 45-degree angle.
  6. I meant to include a screen grab of Noiseware on CS6, As you can see, CS6 is showing a fairly good color rendition in the preview window.
  7. AP has a Selection brush tool, key board short cut is "W". I believe that tool behaves almost exactly like the PS Quick selection brush. Regarding Content aware, the Inpaint brush is very similar to content aware, short cut is "J" and then scroll down to Inpaint.
  8. Once I really dug into it, I found the learning curve to be less steep than I anticipated. While I had to learn how to speak Affinity, after 16 years with PS, I found the the AP sliders to be very close to the PS controls. The only negative is that most of the AP tutorials are videos ( BTW, there are a lot of them) and I am more comfortable with text based tutorials. When I am trying to learn something new, I still go to a PS tutorial and translate it into a set of Affinity notes.
  9. I am trying to clone a straight line, but it does not seem to be working any longer. After selecting the source point (Option + click), I clicked once at the start point, then shift clicked at the end point.
  10. I have an image that I straightened in Capture One (12) by “cropping outside the image”. After cropping, I sent the image to AP 1.6.7 and attempted to “Inpaint” the missing area. While the process works great if I send the image to AP before I attempt to straighten it, if I “crop outside the image” in C1 and then send it to AP, the “Inpaint” command is grayed out.
  11. WRT your response, "I think you may have inadvertently rasterised the image layer by using the eraser.". While I may have inadvertently rasterized the image, my process worked. Kind of clumsy and convoluted, but it worked. I am trying to figure out how to do it entirely within Capture One without having to go to Affinity. Right now I perform all of my image adjustment, except for straightening, in C1 and then "round trip" to AP for the straightening and Inpainting. This process works, I am just trying to determine if there is another viable option. Thank you
  12. Thank you for the link to your photos. If you refer to your self a "just an amateur", I would love to see what you could do if your were a "professional". In a single word, your work is impressive!! I really like the "blue berry" picture.
  13. HVDB, Thank you again, that does work, I was just trying to explore an alternative process. Since your first response, I continued to play and I have now solved the grayed-out Inpaint command. This time after I sent it to AP, I used the eraser tool on the expanded area. Using the erasure tool converted the expanded area into "Partially transparent" and then the Inpatient was no longer grayed-out. While this worked is is definitely more convoluted than it is worth, so I'll stick to the process that you suggested.
  14. Thank for your quick response. However, I told it it worked fine if I had gone directly to AP before I attempted to Inpaint, so I know about going to Select > Alpha Range > Select Partially Transparent. But as I said, Inpaint is grayed out following the process that you outlined.
  15. On December 6, Gabriel stated the "straight line" problem with the clone tool has already been fixed in the 1.7 Beta. I have been using 1.7 Beta for a couple of weeks and as far as I can determine , there is still "straight line" problem. Sometimes it works and other times it does not respond or the line goes off on a crazy diagonal. This is the beta version that I am using: I hope you guys are able to get it fixed before the final release.
  16. I just restarted my Mac and I am unable to replicate the problem. I will continue play with the clone stamp to see if it comes back. Thank you for your help.
  17. Thank you for your offer to help. I really appreciate it. WRT shift/click, I have been using AP since it first arrived on the AP store (about 3 years ago). I only noticed the problems with the clone brush since the release of 1.6.7, before 1.6.7 I never had a problem with using the clone brush to achieve a straight line.
  18. i am on 10.14.1 and for me it is erratic, my symptoms are: some times it works fine some times the shift/click to initiate the clone works and other times it doesn't some times it goes off on a diagonal or horizontal and to add to problems, yesterday the beta locked up my mac and I had to manually shut down and restart in order to get my mac to respond. pressing "esc" would not make it happen.

  21. How are your disk read/write data speeds? I am using SSDs and, using Blackmagic to measure, get 1483/1409 MB/s respectively,
  22. When I was using CS6 and LR I used to follow Anthony Morganti's tutorials. When I was getting started with Affinity, I translated a few of his Photoshop tutorials into Affinity speak. This morning I stumbled on 10 YouTube Affinity Photo tutorials that were produced by Morganti. Morganti's tutorials were well prepared and easy to follow. Here is a list of seven of his tutorials: Morganti Affinity Photo tutorials 1 Quick Start https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbgONOJHa0Y 3 Overlays https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYDxeDZGQZs&index=4&list=PLllFqBuTM0WI8Pt47wBcg25gcYRufEnY8 5 Introduction to Layers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSEZ9Wxtfow&list=PLllFqBuTM0WI8Pt47wBcg25gcYRufEnY8&index=6 6 Adjustment Layers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcgAfMvbIzw&index=7&list=PLllFqBuTM0WI8Pt47wBcg25gcYRufEnY8 7 Curves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrp902JJRzs&list=PLllFqBuTM0WI8Pt47wBcg25gcYRufEnY8&index=8 9 Stitch Panorama https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn73qiRJkIo&index=10&list=PLllFqBuTM0WI8Pt47wBcg25gcYRufEnY8 10 Merge to HDR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGm4K-bWp8I&index=11&list=PLllFqBuTM0WI8Pt47wBcg25gcYRufEnY8
  23. I am currently using Mojave, but the problem occurred with High Sierra also. When I choose High Pass sharpen > CMD J > Adjust the Radius, I can see a slight halo at very low Radius levels (less than 1). However, when I click Apply, the halo completely vanishes (the screen goes to a fairly uniform gray). The vanishing "halos" makes it difficult to estimate the best Radius setting to select. I am using Capture One 12 and I set the Raw sharpening to zero and noise reduction to zero before selecting "Edit in AP".
