  1. Thanks....I'm trying to drop a screenshot into this forum but its not working. Suggestions?
  2. Will Nik plugins work with AP? I tried to use the plugin feature, within AP but doesn't seem to recognize it. Also, I'm using version 1.5 Beta!
  3. So is there an easy way to to drop a watermark on to an image, then resize it. In PS I could take my custom watermark, which is in a PDF format, drop it on the image, resize it and that was it. Thinking it should be rather simple in AF as well, or hoping at least. Also I'm using 1.5 Beta v6.
  4. Yep, it's rendered AP completely useless for me, since all my work is done in 16bit TIFF files. You would think that this would be a priority with AP especially if their targeting the pro community, however, I guess they want to leave it up to Apple, even though PS and Capture One export TIFF files just fine, on my end.
  5. Yes, some developer does need to fix it! Unfortunately, PSD's don't work with my clients. Seems that all this finger pointing is directed at OSX, instead of fixing the issue. Funny, PS, Capture One and even my Hasselblad software all work fine, exporting TIFF, its only AP that is rendered useless, with the latest OSX update!
  6. You say second issue, yet both 8bit and 16bit generate black squares, which are unreadable with any app including PS. Although it very well may be the OSX update, I'm pretty confident that both issues are one in the same since it was working just fine prior. Regardless, I need 16bit files and AP has been rendered completely useless, to me until this issue is corrected. Back to PS I guess, which for some reason the OSX update didn't affect.
  7. Ok, so resetting doesn't work either! Call it what you want, glitch, bug, whatever, worked prior to the OSX update now it doesn't! So back to PS until it works once again!
  8. Glad to hear it's not happening on your MAC however it's happening on both my iMAC and MacBook running 10.11.6, they will NOT display 8 or 16bit files correctly. No problem with PS CS6, creates16 or 8bit files, no problem. I did completely uninstall and reinstall Affinity and the problem still exists! Seems that there is a serious bug in AP since there were no issues until I updated OSX.
  9. This happens with 8bit as well! At this point not even PS will not even read the file Affinity creates, making Affinity totally unusable, if one chooses to export files in a tiff format while using 10.11.6! Please FIX ASAP!!!
  10. When exporting tiff files whether its 8bit or 16bit all I get is garbage, i.e. an unreadable file, basically a black square, nothing more and of course I'm on deadline!
  11. You did do a nice job on that! Thanks for the advice, however I'm still a little vague on the "yellow rectangle brush" while using the Gaussian Blur, could you elaborate a little further please?
  12. I have a situation where the bricks in this image are discolored. The image needs to consistent and match the darker portion. This is a large wall and I need the most effective and accurate way to accomplish this. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
  13. Awesome, hopefully some revisions have been made to sizing and cropping. The one thing that keeps sending m back to PS.
  14. Any chance there is an update coming out soon, since there hasn't been one in several months. Hoping some issues get resolved.
  15. Yep it certainly doesn't work like any other program, and, absolute should be renamed "not really absolute!" Not sure why we should have to relearn something...personally I will continue to use PS or my RAW processor for cropping and sizing until AP joins the rest of the world in regards to sizing and cropping.
  16. I couldn't agree more. As much as I want to use Affinity, I'm still going back to PS to do my Absolute cropping.
  17. Whatever, you have no idea what your talking about, trust me I have no issues loosing detail after resizing in PS, would you like a screen shot of the after crop as well? Did you design this bogus UI? It makes no sense! I guess your not getting it! I'm not interested in how to use it!!! Not sure what part I'm not being clear about and with 20 years of experience, I don't need to be lectured about pixels. Its a complete departure from a logical UI! So please, with all do respect, stop justifying it, or telling me how to make it work. Design something that isn't a departure from an intelligent UI! Until then, I will keep telling people at forums / conferences that AP is a great program but fails with one simple area, the cropping / sizing tool! BTW...Spoke in front of 150 people Wednesday night and informed them of this shortcoming in AP when questioned! Ironically several, more then several, downloaded the trial and agreed! I'll be happy to post there comments if you like! But according to you there just not using it correctly! Really? Wow!
  18. You missed the point completely, I do care about the quality of my prints, you have no idea, did I mention I shoot full-time commercially? That is why I shoot 38 & 80mp camera systems. That is why I print in tiff at 8 & 16 bit. Thats is why my end file is typically half a gig and end up on billboards and magazines, etc! What I am saying, is like the previous gentleman indicated, I shouldn't have to think about it, that is what is called an intelligent program. I bring an image in from a RAW process at 16bit tiff, then crop to size and within a few minutes of touching up, boom, I have my file, ready for print. AND you know it remains 16bit @ 300dpi, exactly how I exported it, until I change the bit and or/ pixel ratio myself, while never looking at my pixel dimensions at least in PS and and other programs. Try doing that with AP! "Excellent software" is suppose to make the complex simple!" Especially when it comes to the basic! There are many people who are also trying to make sense of this, so please stop defending this major shortcoming and let's get it resolved. If you want to continue to defend this shortcoming / design flaw, instead of something constructive, regarding a resolution, well, I have nothing further to say, other then you really don't get it!
  19. Ok....Lets go with a visual then obvious shortcoming isn't coming sinking in. Crop1 is AP Crop2 is PS, both images were processed 300dpi tiff images straight from the RAW processor. PS, I didn't have to d anything with the crop guide and it came up exactly as it should for an 11x17 crop, period! It shouldn't matter how many pixels I have. Not to keep repeating myself, but it doesn't seem to matter with any OTHER program, why should it matter to AP. Keep it simple! I do not have time to be making extra steps, or concern myself with the pixels!
  20. And I have to do this why? You do understand that I do not have to do this with any other program? Or maybe you missed that part.
  21. I so agree Asha....Until they admit there is problem. there is no problem. This is something we need, a must have, and I'm not going to switch to PS to crop my images. I will just process in PS. Hopefully the power that be are reading these posts! AP has so much potential, yet they so dropped the ball in this area!
