I'm new to the print side of graphic design. What I'm working on is fairly simple - labels with mostly solid color line art printed on a Brother Color Laser (HL-3140). I want to output the best quality, and took a guess at creating a new document. Do these settings sound sane?
Type: Print
Colour Format: CMYK/8 (since the color laser has CMY and K cartridges)
Colour Profile: Generic CMYK Profile (
DPI: 1200 (default was 300, but the printer can do 600-2400. I don't think > 1200 would be perceptible).
