Is there a way to figure out the area of a shape? PLEASE SAY YES!!

I made a thread about this as well (before I noticed this thread)!
It sure would be very helpful to have this featured included. It is very helpful to be able to as one creates a shape/marque/etc to hold down the spacebar to move the in progress selection around.
 
 

In many apps if you use the marque tool to create a selection if you then hold down space bar you can move the selection around while still being able to resize the selection. I would very much appreciate this feature. 

I know designer is meant for vector, but I just had so so much fun with it's pixel persona. I doubt if I'll ever use procreate much anymore, if ever.
Not to mention if it's anything past a doodle or a sketch I always need the vector tools.

Hey folks,
back again with a small composite made of three photos from last year's trip to Bali and some burning sky stuff I shot during summer.
Result:

It could need some more finetuning for sure, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
What do you think?

A tiff will export at maximum quality at 8-bit or 16-bit, and can include layers.
A 24-bit png will export at 8 bits per channel at maximum quality for 8 bits.
An 8-bit png or a gif will only export up to 256 colours. Fine for diagrams, but not photos.
A jpeg will lose some quality depending on the degree of compression. It is better with photos than with diagrams. Can be 8-bit or 16-bit.

If you have a specific layer (or layers) you want to export, and others you don't, you can hide the ones you don't want in the Layers panel, then use File > Export.... Only the visible layers will be exported.
Edit: If you want to maintain them as editable layers, you would need to use TIFF. But they'll be layers only if you reopen the TIFF file in an Affinity application.

Is using the Shape Builder Tool really so much quicker and easier than selecting all the shapes, clicking on the 'Divide' icon on the Geometry toolbar, Shift-clicking the bottom part of the circle to deselect it and then going back to the Geometry toolbar and clicking 'Add'?

I think it's really great that Affinity Apps are a one time purchase with updates for life. And one day I want to be independent of Adobe's pricy subscription. That's why sometimes I would like to support Affinity some-how. For example.. if I buy brushes from the Affinity Store is that directly supporting the developers? I wish there was an iBooks version of the workbooks. That way they could be updated when new features come out.

Convert the node to Sharp using the sharp button on the Context Menu.
P.S. You might need to drag on the line slightly to get the handle on the curved side to appear.

In photoshop you can make the paintbrush jitter the foreground and background colors selected, can you do this somehow with affinity photo?

Ok so right when it's done focus merging (which took over 5 minutes) it shows the Sources Studio, but if you close it somehow when you open the Sources Studio again all the sources are gone and to get them back you have to re-focus merge the entire image all over again.

Purchased the application a few days back for my new iPad Pro and I LOVE IT. It replaces all the apps Adobe offers on the App Store and makes me feel at home. As an Adobe Creative Cloud user, one litte thing a feel is missing from Affinity Photo is the on-canvas rulers but more importantly when adding guides to be able to select percentages as a measurement.
 
E.g when on the horizontal line I want to add a guide 35% in, if the canvas is 2000px in height, the guide would be 700px down.
